Metroid!

Tonight, Rowan asked me to find a fruit beetle for him. That’s one of the easiest tasks ever.

Rowan: I am ALL about those crazy things. I'm serious! They're crawling in my dreams. So I walked a few feet and caught one. I gave it to Rowan and he thanked me by giving me a tea-room wall.

Rowan: Yesss! A fruit beetle! HIGH FIVE, bud! You hooked me up big-time.After I was done watering my flowers, I made my way to the beach for the night’s main event: Gulliver.

Gulliver: Oh, wait, that one I know. I'm Gulliver, captain of the Crusty Barnacle... Um. Crusty SPACE Barnacle. It wasn’t an easy journey, but my long wait is over. He gave me the Metroid! Score!

My new Metroid on display in my house.Even though it looks cool, the best part is the short bit of Metroid music it plays. It made me think of how Metroid (the game series) has such great, atmospheric, even haunting music. More than any other Nintendo franchise (yes, even Zelda), I feel that the unique music in Metroid is an integral part of the game. Metroid with a different soundtrack may have still been a good game, but I don’t feel it would have become the classic that it is.

Sorry for going off on a tangent there. But tomorrow night is Friday Night Forest, so check back late tomorrow night for another entry.
