Shrunk Has a DVD?

Yesterday, I received Sterling’s goodbye letter in the mail. He’s taking his biceps (and his helmet) on tour. 😛

Yo, Jeff, It's time for me to bail on Forest and take these biceps on tour! They're just too big for one town. Don't worry, you'll see 'em again! -Sterling

As for his helmeted, chickeny counterpart Knox, today was his birthday. But he was just talking about gardening when I visited him. (Unlike Wild World and New Leaf, birthdays aren’t celebrated in City Folk…other than the notice on the bulletin board).

Knox: Whenever I see a garden that's really been cared for, I want to bust out my can and get busy!

At the Roost tonight, K.K. Slider performed K.K. Swing for me. It’s not one of my favorite songs.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Swing.

Back outside after the show, Tiffany asked me if I could return the Shrunk DVD that I borrowed from her.

Tiffany: You know, that DVD Shrunk: The Joke's Gone Too Far...

But then she remembered she didn’t loan it to me, she loaned it to Knox. How did she get me confused with Knox? Maybe it was my helmet and beak.

I spoke with Mitzi, and she mentioned the fact that I’ve caught every fish in the game. I could be mistaken, but I don’t recall hearing that from a villager in City Folk before.

Mitzi: I'm trying to take some inspiration from you, Jeff. You've caught every fish there is!

I recently posted my annual slideshow of the best pictures I’ve taken over the past year. If you haven’t seen it yet, here it is: The 11th Year in Pictures.

Moving Knight

Last night, Puck asked me for some blue furniture that he can plop down in his house. I didn’t have any to give him, but I took this picture just because of the expression on his face. 😀

Puck: The best furniture is blue stuff, 'cause all you gotta do is plop it down anywhere...

Goldie was sick with a cold, so I gave her some medicine last night, and then again today.

Goldie takes some medicine in ACCF.

The fishing tournament was held today, but I missed out on it. But I still had a quick chat with Chip, and he told me that Static was the winner. Congrats, Static!

Chip: Static from here in Forest! Solid fishing! But not so much for you. Nyuuk nyuk!

Bones told me that he’s putting on some weight for winter. He said he’s always hungry lately.

Bones: I'm spending all my spare time putting on weight for winter! I'm always hungry these days!
Now I’m getting hungry too…

I was surprised when I went into Sterling’s house and saw all his furniture packed up in boxes. Sterling is moving away without any advance notice…even though I just spoke to him last night.

Sterling: So, I'm gonna be packing up and moving. It'd be a waste to keep biceps like these in one town.

A week or two ago, I gave him the greeting “Helmet twins!” I was hoping to get a screenshot of him saying that at some point when Knox was also in the picture. Now that isn’t going to happen.

Today is the 11th anniversary of Animal Crossing: City Folk’s release. I created my town on that very first day, and it’s the same town I still have now. If you’d like to see those first few minutes of Forest, here are three videos I recorded that day. (Youtube videos had to be less than 11 minutes long back then, so I had to split it into three).

I’ll see you next time. Never Stop Crossing! 🙂

False Hope

Knox’s house is now fully unpacked, and I got to see what it looks like for the first time tonight. It’s very… um… medieval. With a bit of an old west feel too, I wagon reckon.

I don’t know what I expected.

When I spoke with Kitty, I got excited for a moment. I thought she was going to tell me she was moving…but she just wanted a new catchphrase.

Kitty: Hey, Boy J. I think it's time for me to make a change, I'm awful!
Oh, you’re keeping that catchphrase. Like it or not.

Speaking of false hope, Tiffany gave me some of that too.

Tiffany: I've really been fighting the urge to move out, bunbun...
Don’t fight it.

But she was just telling me she needed to redecorate her house. Bummer.

At the Roost, I asked K.K. Slider for a random song. He performed K.K. Folk for me, which may not be my favorite, but it is better than the title suggests. I particularly like the double-howl parts. 😛

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Folk.

And tonight marks exactly 2,000 days since my last night of Wi-Fi online play in Animal Crossing: City Folk. That’s when Nintendo pulled the plug on online play for Wii and original DS games.* That final night was a fun, sad, bittersweet good time. If you’d like, check out that night’s blog entry to relive the fun.

*Yes, I know there are unofficial methods to play those games online now, but I don’t use them, nor do any of my old ACCF friends, as far as I know.

Also, I’ve posted my latest episode of Mario Plays ACCF. This time, Mario participates in Bob’s game show, Purrl asks Mario to give a message to Luigi, and Luigi has a strong reaction to Mushroom’s newest villager. Check it out!

Have a great night, and Never Stop Crossing!
