Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog

Hello, and welcome to my Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog! I'm Jeff and here you can follow along with my adventures in the game. Unlike other Animal Crossing games, Happy Home Designer does not run in real-time. So each blog entry will usually cover multiple "game days." If you'd like, you can start from the beginning or just jump right in!

Day 25

The department store was the only facility I was able to choose when speaking to Isabelle today. It has three separate areas: The entrance, the sales floor, and a dining area. And the sales floor actually consists of two separate shops, so this project has a total of four rooms. That makes this the biggest (and most time-consuming) project yet.

After choosing the layout, I got down to work. I really wasn't sure what to do with the entrance. I put in a counter and a cash register, along with some vases, some plants, and some seating. An ATM (or ABD in this case) allows customers to withdraw money from their bank accounts so they can spend, spend, spend. This may not be one of my most creative rooms, but I guess it turned out okay.

On the sales floor, I turned one room into an electronics shop. Customers can choose from a variety of desktop and laptop computers, tablets, and TVs. I just wish I had some video game systems to put up for sale!

I noticed that some of the newly unlocked items included a ring, a handbag, and a jewelry case. So I decided to make the other sales room a jewelry shop. Naturally, I customized each of the items to provide a variety of items on display. To make the shop extra fancy, I put in a chandelier.

Upstairs was the dining area. After already designing a cafe, a restaurant, and a fast food joint (for Frita), I'm getting a bit tired of food rooms. I just put in some vending machines and a salad bar, along with tables, chairs, and a few flowers and other plants to make things look nice.

I uploaded my department store to the Happy Home Network. If you'd like, you can visit it by entering code 0397-7764-364. I learned, by accident, that pressing the B button will stop the montage from showing. Oops.

When I returned to the office, Lottie told me that Isabelle won't be coming in tomorrow since I'm done with all of the facilities she has permits for. But Isabelle does have more construction projects in the works, so there's more yet to come.

Thank you for stopping by, and please come again!
