Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog

Hello, and welcome to my Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog! I'm Jeff and here you can follow along with my adventures in the game. Unlike other Animal Crossing games, Happy Home Designer does not run in real-time. So each blog entry will usually cover multiple "game days." If you'd like, you can start from the beginning or just jump right in!

Day 38

I met Chops the pig out on the street today, and he told me he's pretty sure he was a king in a previous life! So he wants his new house to look like a king's chamber. A king needs to live in a castle, so I picked out a spot where his castle would be surrounded by a moat.

The golden exterior, roof, door, and fence were unlocked for this project, so I decided to use them all. I did change the cobblestone bridge to a fairy-tale bridge, though. In addition, I put in a statue fountain and some golden roses; both of them are newly-unlocked items.

The golden set (including the wall and carpet) is now available, as is the throne. And that's what I used for the inside of the castle: Gold everywhere. Don't turn too many lights on in here, or the glare just might blind you! Chops was enjoying his throne...all hail King Bacon!

When I was done, Chops taught me the apologize emotion. I uploaded his home castle to the Happy Home Network, and the code to visit it is 0300-7759-955.

Day 39

Today, Moose the mouse wanted a basketball house. Hey, that rhymed. The basketball hoop works great outdoors, as does the ball. On a side note, I noticed that the ball can be customized to be changed into a soccer ball, a volleyball, or a dodgeball. That may be helpful to keep in mind for future projects, but the default basketball is what I needed for Moose's yard. I used a large stage-floor rug to function as the court, and it looks pretty good if I do say so myself. I included a ball catcher so Moose will never run out of balls.

But with the basketball equipment outdoors and no new furniture being unlocked, the big question is what goes indoors? I guess Moose is going to get an indoor court too. That way, he can still shoot hoops on rainy days and when it's cold outside. The ringside seating (wallpaper), which would have been really helpful for Rooney's boxing gym last time, has finally been unlocked. I also used a neutral floor, much like I used in my New Leaf house earlier this year.

I put up my Cavs flag logo on the wall, and also on the curtains. I may be the last person to realize this, but I figured out you can close curtains by going up to them and pressing the A button. That allows you to see the designs on them. I also gave Moose a bed (with Cavs bedding) and a flat-screen TV so he can watch the games on TV. I used cheering sounds for the sound scenery.

Moose taught me the fearful emotion when I was all done. The code to visit this house on the Happy Home Network is 0093-7755-996.

Have a good weekend, everyone! I'll see you next time!
