Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog

Hello, and welcome to my Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog! I'm Jeff and here you can follow along with my adventures in the game. Unlike other Animal Crossing games, Happy Home Designer does not run in real-time. So each blog entry will usually cover multiple "game days." If you'd like, you can start from the beginning or just jump right in!

Day 42

I saw Rory out on Main Street today, and he told me he has a bond with the sea. Wait, what? You're a lion, not a sea lion. And I thought cats didn't like water! I didn't understand the connection, but I agreed to kelp help him out anyway.

I picked out a location where his house would be surrounded by water on both sides. Rory insisted on a wave breaker, and that was fine by me. I also gave him a newly-unlocked mango tree, some seashells, and a hammock for resting next to the ocean. Just be careful about napping at high tide!

Indoors, I gave him the tropical vista wallpaper and the sandy-beach floor. To go with his beach chair and beach table, I added a life ring, mermaid statue, some mangos, and some lawn chairs for any visitors he invites over. I also gave him a refrigerator and a couple of pieces of cabana furniture to round out the room. I turned on some beach sounds as the sound scenery for his house. Oddly, it's actually brighter indoors than it is outside!

When I was done, Rory taught me the sheepishness emotion. Why not a roar instead? The code to visit his home is 0494-7719-079.

Day 43

Caroline was out on Main Street, and she told me she wanted to be a cowgirl living on a ranch. A lot of cabin and ranch furniture was unlocked for this project, but none of it really seemed appropriate for outdoors. So I just put out a rocking chair, a campfire, some firewood, and that was basically it. I would have liked to put in some items from the western set (wagon wheel, storefront, tumbleweed, watering trough, etc.), but none of those items have been unlocked yet. That's something that annoys me about this game: Often, some of the most appropriate items for a theme are not even available.

Indoors, I used the ranch furniture set, including a large ranch rug. I also put in a round cactus, a revolving spice rack, and a hot plate for Caroline to cook her eyes eggs. I used prairie sounds as the sound scenery.

Caroline taught me the sorrow emotion when I was all done. The code to visit her home is 0995-7715-980.

I'll see you all next time! If you'd like to post the codes for your home designs in the comments, go right ahead! I'll try to check them out, and I might post some of my favorites in a future blog entry!
