Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog

Hello, and welcome to my Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog! I'm Jeff and here you can follow along with my adventures in the game. Unlike other Animal Crossing games, Happy Home Designer does not run in real-time. So each blog entry will usually cover multiple "game days." If you'd like, you can start from the beginning or just jump right in!

Day 46

Out on Main Street, Portia the dog wanted a home where she could celebrate Festivale all the time. If you're not aware, Festivale is an event in other Animal Crossing games, where a flamboyant peacock named Pavé hands out Pavé furniture in exchange for feathers (in New Leaf) or candy (in City Folk).

I chose spring for the season, so that the falling cherry blossom petals can mimic the confetti that falls during Festivale. For the exterior of the property, I decided to put in a variety of colorful flowers. To get a good picture of both sides of the river, I had to dangle my character over the waterfall!

Indoors, I used the entire Pavé set, including the wall and rug. I displayed a Festivale accessory and rainbow feather on the Pavé chest, and I used a CD player to play K.K. Samba.

When I was done, I learned the sunniness emotion. I guess it's better than the mooning emotion. Nobody wants to see that! The project code to visit Portia's home is 0595-7741-062.

I returned to the office and used the Happy Home Network to visit some of Meli's creations. In her Target store (0200-7759-412), Tangy and Kabuki were amazed by fruit! They couldn't stop staring at it! But surprisingly, Tangy was enamored with the apples, not the oranges.

I then visited Meli's IHOP (International House of Pancakes) at project code 0196-7761-436. I sat down for a nice tall stack of pancakes, while telling the waiters (Spork and Iggly) to keep the pancakes coming! Mmm!

Day 47

I used the 3DS on the second floor of the office today to check for special design requests at a Nintendo Zone, and Filly the horse showed up. She wanted her house to have the vibe of a 24-hour convenience store. I tried to make the outside of the property look like a parking lot, using a number of stage-floor rugs.

Indoors, I used the 24-hour-shop wall and the kitchen tile floor. The newly unlocked furniture is better known as the 7/11 set, although the items that showed the 7/11 logo are not included.

When I was done, Filly taught me the happiness emotion. The project code to visit this convenience store is 0492-7744-054.

Thanks for stopping by. I'll see you next time!
