Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog

Hello, and welcome to my Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog! I'm Jeff and here you can follow along with my adventures in the game. Unlike other Animal Crossing games, Happy Home Designer does not run in real-time. So each blog entry will usually cover multiple "game days." If you'd like, you can start from the beginning or just jump right in!

Day 53

Gabi the bunny rabbit was on Main Street today, and she wanted a house with a piano. Usually, requests are based around a general theme, style, or even a color. But in Gabi's case, it's based on one specific item.

A piano isn't an item that's suited for outdoor use, so I kept the outside of the property very simple. I only put in a couple of small pavement rugs to lead up to the house and a few trees.

Indoors, I used the rococo wall and floor. No furniture (other than Gabi's pic) was unlocked with this project, only a shirt (waffle tee) and a song (K.K. Etude). Gabi insisted on an ebony piano, a metronome, and a classic table. Nice. I added an elegant bench for Gabi to sit on as she plays, as well as a mic stand in case she has a friend over to sing along. To round out the room, I put in a bed, a couple of chairs, and a snake plant. It's simple, but it fills her needs.

Gabi taught me the pride emotion before I uploaded her house to the Happy Home Network. The code for this project is 0207-7762-098.

Day 54

CuteGal left a comment on the previous entry, reminding me to use the 3DS on the second floor of Nook's Homes to get the new DLC character. So I did that, and Felyne the cat showed up at the office. He said he wanted a home where he can live the life of a hunter. That's because Felyne is based on the cat critters in the Monster Hunter series. I'm not very familiar with the series (other than playing the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate demo), but it is pretty cool to see items from a completely different series added to Happy Home Designer.

Ten Monster Hunter themed items have been unlocked for this project: An item box, barbecue spit, Wyvern eggs, hunter's hive, Red Wing, Palico board, hunter's cart, Felyne Guardian, Poogie, and the hunter. The best part is that many of these items actually do something. Some of them can be turned on or brought to life (including the Poogie, which jumps and squeals), while others play sound effects when you use them. I decided to put most of these items outdoors. I also used a small cowhide rug and a campfire, which seemed to fit the theme nicely.

Indoors, I was able to use the new magma-cavern wall and lava floor. These are hot. And awesome. I used the items I didn't use outside, including the hunter himself. I also added a second Poogie (with different clothes) and a bed for the hunter to sleep on.

Felyne then taught me how to love. I uploaded his house to the Happy Home Network, and you can visit it by entering the code 0497-7765-914. Or scan this QR code.

I then connected to the Happy Home Network to visit a few of your creations. This is Bri's home for Louie (celebrating Mario's 30th anniversary). The project code is 0602-7714-925.

Last but not least, Plupap recommended this house for me: Jambette! Oh no! Jambette thinks she's fabulous, and she has pictures of herself all over her house to "prove" it. Yikes! This house is certainly unique, but I'm afraid I'm not a big fan of seeing this much Jambette! For those who are feeling brave, the project code is 0405-7791-941.

Thank you all for visiting and I'll see you next time!
