Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog

Hello, and welcome to my Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog! I'm Jeff and here you can follow along with my adventures in the game. Unlike other Animal Crossing games, Happy Home Designer does not run in real-time. So each blog entry will usually cover multiple "game days." If you'd like, you can start from the beginning or just jump right in! Or read my review.

Day 63

Del the alligator croc was out on Main Street today, and he told me he wanted to feel like a sailor adventuring across the sea.

I picked out a seaside property for him, out on a peninsula. Palm trees were unlocked with this project, so I put in a couple of those. I also put down a new tropical rug and several pirate items, including an anchor, helm, and ship compass.

Indoors, I used the newly unlocked ocean-horizon wall and water floor. I used another tropical rug on top of the floor to make it look like we're on an island; let's call it Isle del Del. I used an armada of sailboat models to make it look like the island was being invaded...oh no! Del and I may need to grab our life rings and flee! Using beach sounds as the sound scenery was a no-brainer, and I put in a couple of duck decoys as well.

Day 64

Today, I had a chat with Mott the lion. He told me he would like a physicist's office where he could do some scientific research. I put his house up on a cliff, in case he wants to drop some objects off the edge for an experiment. I also put in a few apple trees. Maybe a falling apple will hit him on the head and provide some inspiration.

No new wallpaper or carpeting was unlocked with this project, so I played it simple with a neutral wall and stone tile floor. One of the items that was unlocked, however, was a love tester! Exactly what kind of experiments does Mott plan on performing?

Mott insisted on a tool shelf, a whiteboard, and an executive toy. I also included some other science-y things like a science table, an anotomical model, a clear model, a scale, and a computer desk for recording the data from his experiments. Not many lions become scientists, so his family must be full of pride.

If you'd like, you can visit the lab by entering project code 0403-7701-017. Just remember that experiments are underway, so please don't make too much noise. At worst, keep it to a dull roar.

When I was done, I used the Happy Home Network to check out Ellah's three-story mansion for Tom Nook (project code 0893-7761-983). It's great, but I'm not sure that Tom Nook deserves this much luxury! But the house is really nice and I recommend giving it a visit!

I was also impressed with Ellah's Ice Climber lodge for Opal (project code 0699-7774-952). It's another good one you might want to check out.

Thanks for visiting. I'll see you next time!
