Nintendo has provided me with an advance copy of Disney Magical World, which is now available for Nintendo 3DS. It has some gameplay similarities to Animal Crossing, while also featuring over 60 Disney characters. I'll be writing about the game and providing regular updates as I progress through the game. Want to start from the beginning?
Day 37: Holiday Season
As of November 7th, the holiday season is here! Christmas decorations can now be found around Castleton, highlighted by the Christmas trees in the center of the plaza.
'Tis the season! But where's the snow?
At McDuck's, fall fashions are out and winter fashions are in.
Quit loafing around and bundle up!
Some Christmas themed items can be earned by doing favors for residents. It works the same way as the Halloween requests. Here, a resident asked me to wear a Mickey Santa outfit in exchange for a Christmas rug recipe. Of course, I didn't have the Mickey Santa outfit yet, but I'll be keeping an eye out for it.
Ho ho ho, I need more time!
Fortunately, another resident asked me to model a Stitch outfit...and that was something that I did have. In exchange, I scored a recipe for a snow globe. It cost 100,000 coins to make, but I had plenty of the required ingredients.
I'm going to shake things up.
Yet another resident asked me for some dogbane flowers in exchange for a Christmas candle. So I was able to acquire a few of the holiday items so far, but it will take time to complete the sets.
In addition to the seasonal changes, there is also some new DLC (downloadable content). For $1.00, you can buy the Christmas seasonal set. It includes a Santa outfit recipe, a reindeer outfit recipe, and a new episode "To the Christmas Ball." I did not buy the set, but there's an additional free item to download also: the Christmas wreath. (It also comes with the recipe so you can make more of them if you wish).
Thanks for stopping by. I'll be back in early December with another update.
