Disney Magical World Blog

Nintendo has provided me with an advance copy of Disney Magical World, which is now available for Nintendo 3DS. It has some gameplay similarities to Animal Crossing, while also featuring over 60 Disney characters. I'll be writing about the game and providing regular updates as I progress through the game. Want to start from the beginning?

Day 39: Winter Rolls On

Shortly before Christmas, Mickey finally gave me the recipe for the Mickey car statue! I've been unable to complete Mickey's furniture set for months now, so it's good to finally get it!

It had been driving me crazy!
After making the car for him (and one for myself), he wanted to take a photo in front of the Christmas tree. You may also notice that the central plaza is snow-covered for winter.

What big ears you have, Santa!
On Christmas morning, I found a large present on my bed! When I opened it, it contained a recipe for a Christmas present. Assembly required!

So my present was just a recipe for a present?
When I took it to the workshop, I saw that it's actually for a "Christmas present board," which consists of several gift boxes in one item. That completed my collection of Christmas furniture.

These presents are fake! Can I return them?
After Christmas, the large Christmas tree in the plaza was gone. In its place was a giant snowman. Err...snowmouse.

Is that a giant egg? Snowmen aren't hatched!
I'm nowhere near completing the winter/ice furniture set yet--I still need the chairs, among other things--but here's a look at what I have so far. Everything looks so nice and frosty.

Icy what you did there.
I threw a winter party, and Mickey and Minnie both showed up, wearing their winter outfits. I particularly like Mickey's blue jacket, with the snowflakes on it.

For a party, I sure got a chilly reception.
January is here now, and that means there's new downloadable content (DLC) available. The free item for this month is this Casual Minnie T-shirt.

It's kind of plain, but then again, it's free.
There is also some new paid DLC available this month, called "Japanese Cafe Set - Mickey." I did not purchase it, but here is the list of the items and recipes included for a price of $2.00:

Recipes: One other note: On New Year's Day, I went into the tailor shop and Daisy wished me a Happy New Year (including a voice clip). Perhaps some other Disney characters will do the same, but she was the only one in my game that acknowledged the holiday today. Everyone else just wanted to talk about taking pictures together.
