More Dreams

I went to the castle and completed both of Rapunzel’s balls and both of Elsa and Anna’s balls. I did it partially to get them out of the way, and partially because I needed one of the items for an episode in 100 Acre Wood. Once I got what I needed, Owl used the item to make a banner for the “hunny” party.

Look at banner.

When I visited Miss Teri’s Shop of Wonder, I saw that I was now able to buy the expert rod! This will help me catch even bigger fish. Yay!

New Record! Loot Lobster. Length: 162 cm.

In 100 Acre Wood, one episode took me inside of a giant tree loaded with honey. I was knee-deep in it, and Pooh was up to his waist. Ol’ Pooh bear likes the honey.

Winnie the Pooh: I couldn't be happier.

I went home and decided to have a nice dream. I’ve unlocked several more dreams since last time, but I started off with a Wreck-It Ralph dream. We made a go-kart and then raced on a track! Unfortunately, you don’t control the car directly. These dreams generally just involve watching things happen.

I then enjoyed a dream based on The Nightmare Before Christmas. I started out by getting into a bathtub with Jack Skellington, and then we rode the bathtub around the world. Wow, I have some strange dreams.

Sitting in a tub with Jack Skellington.

Sally’s activity involved picking petals from a flower to see if Jack loves her or not. The flower bursts into flames…probably not a good sign.

I then jumped on an insane, rabid duck as its head spun around. We didn’t go anywhere, and yet I still felt lucky to escape with my life.

Next, I opened up a present from Jack. A snake or something jumped out and scared me to death…literally. I saw my soul leave my body, although it soon jumped back in.

Jack scares me to death.

Even though I’ve unlocked several more dreams, I didn’t want to complete them all at once. They might drive me insane!

After completing an episode in the Frozen world, I got a recipe for a snow star wand. When I made it in Yen Sid’s tower, I earned a sticker for making my first gold rare wand.

You got a sticker! Strike gold!In case you’re not aware, Nintendo has some QR codes on their DMW2 site that you can scan and use in the game. Currently they have a seven-piece “animals and pals” set and a five-piece Halloween set. But they may add more in the future.

In Hawaii, I entered a hula contest (as part of an episode there). It works the same as the dancing at the balls. You press the buttons at the appropriate time and you are judged by how precise you are. There was only one hula episode available to me now, and it was very slow-paced and easy.

And I noticed that in one area of the Hawaii world, you can walk behind some trees, causing them to disappear. But the coconuts on the tree don’t disappear. They just hang there.

In addition to working at my cafe regularly, I’ve been trying to complete an assortment of episodes from different worlds. I’m not focusing on any single world right now, just moving around from one task to another. My current sticker count is 82, and my item collection is 35.33% complete. See you next time!

Alice in Wonderland

I returned to the Lilo & Stitch world (Hawaii), where the next episode rewarded me with a nice massage.

Lomi: Now for the best massage you'll ever have!Have I mentioned this game has some weird objectives? 😛 But that’s not a complaint. They sure don’t rub me the wrong way.

Later, I headed up to the castle, where an episode board was unlocked. I can now participate in dances in the enchanted ballroom. The dances are essentially rhythm games where you must press buttons at the appropriate times. Cinderella and Prince Charming showed up.

Cinderella: We're so glad you could come to our ball. After a few introductory words from them, the dance began.

Once I was done, I got a new sticker for completing my first dance, and another for clearing a ball with a perfect rating. These balls were my least favorite part of the original Disney Magical World. But at least the first couple of dances are pretty easy to complete.

The third one was a bit harder, and it earned me a sticker for clearing a difficult ball with a gold rating. No more balls opened up after that, but there will be more later in the game.

Next, I headed over to Wonderland. As I accessed the episode board, Letta showed up with another magic wand from Yen Sid. So I headed off into the hedge maze for the first action quest.

A hedge maze action quest in the Alice in Wonderland world of Disney Magical World 2.I completed the first three episodes, including one where Alice asked me to find her a flamingo mallet. She said they’re good for hitting balls…and not the dancing kind.

Alice: There are perfectly good mallets, real ones, made for hitting balls.
Um…

She wanted to play croquet with the queen, of course.

When I returned to Castleton, Letta showed up and gave me a letter from Rapunzel. She invited me to another ball at the castle. As soon as Letta flew away, she immediately returned! She also had an invitation for a ball from Anna and Elsa. But I will save those balls for another day.

At Three Little Pigs Renovations, I had the piggies replace the door of my house. It was only 500 coins, after all. That earned me the Piggy Paint Job sticker.

Now no wolves can huff and puff their way in, right?

Another blog entry, another crash to report. The game crashed on me while working on my farm in 100 Acre Wood tonight. I didn’t lose any progress this time, but you have to wonder why a better job wasn’t done cleaning up the errors before the game was published. These crashes are happening far too often.

I finished up my night with three episodes in the Snow White world. One involved nothing more than handing over an item I already had, one involved making an item at Daisy’s boutique, and the other just required catching one fish. They were quick and easy.

The Little Mermaid World

I arrived in Atlantica, which is the world based on The Little Mermaid. The outfit from Yen Sid will turn you into a merman or mermaid. I got no legs!

I'm a merman in The Little Mermaid world of Disney Magical World 2.
Something fishy is going on!

I used the episode board to begin the first action quest. It takes place underwater of course, as does everything in this world. But here, I can use my magic wand to trap ghosts in bubbles by pressing the Y button. I really like the scenery down here under the sea.

Darling it’s better, down where it’s wetter. ♪

Once I reached the boss ghost’s room, I met up with Ariel (the Little Mermaid herself) and Flounder. I still don’t understand how his head is so much bigger than hers. 😛

Ariel:Oh! Who's this?
Jeff: Very Good Swimmer?

I reminded Ariel that she’s missing rehearsal, and she said that Sebastian is going to be steamed. Haha, I hope that’s a reference to the scene in the movie where Sebastian almost gets cooked. 😉

Ariel: Sebastian is going to be steamed, all right.

I’ve now cleared the first five episodes in this world. At one point, Ariel showed me all the human items she’s stashed away from various shipwrecks.

Ariel: Look at all this human stuff! Isn't it neat?
Wouldn’t you think your collection’s complete?

After hosting a Frozen themed party at my cafe back in Castleton, I completed a Frozen puzzle. That allowed me to go on a Frozen themed magic dream! I began by flying by a frosty ice castle.

Elsa told me to “keep cool” as she froze me into an ice crystal.

THIS is your idea of fun? I’d rather build a snowman.

Anna’s activity was much more enjoyable: We got to go down an ice slide!

This is more like it! But I can’t feel my butt.

And with Olaf’s help, I was able to change the music here to “Let it Go.” After that, I woke up from my dream. The dreams are somewhat enjoyable for a minute or two–it’s cool to see what activities are available. But after that, there’s not much else to do unless you want to repeat the activities over and over. Still, they are an entertaining little bonus.

One other thing I touched on before is the friendship medals. I never had a proper follow-up, so I’ll talk about it now. When you speak to Bella and invite guests, five random player characters (from the internet) will appear in your town (even though it doesn’t show them arriving by hot air balloon).

Your profile is also uploaded so your character can appear in someone elsa else’s town. You earn five medals just for inviting the guests, so you do not have to get StreetPass hits to earn the medals. That is a good thing.

A visitor in Disney Magical World 2.

New areas of the game keep opening up before I’m ready for them. The white rabbit and Alice appeared, and they activated the gate to Wonderland.

White Rabbit: Oh, my goodness! I'm late! I'm late! Not only that, but Letta appeared with an invitation to the ball. I’ll look into Wonderland and the ball next time.

Just to update you on my status, I currently have 57 stickers, and my item collection is 19.34% complete. See you soon!
