Balloon Presents Changing Paths

Today, Molly told me that she borrowed something from Rolf a while back and hadn’t returned it yet. But I don’t know how that’s possible, since Rolf just moved in yesterday!

Molly: Well...I borrowed something from Rolf a while ago and never returned it.And Fuchsia told me that she’s moving out of town on the 4th of July.

Fuchsia: Anyway, I need to get out there and experience stuff like this. So next month on the 4th, I'm leaving!I didn’t try to stop her.

Fuchsia: Hah! I get it. You're playing it cool. Trying your best not to cry. It's OK.Over on the bridge, I ran into Benedict. He wanted a new greeting, so I told him to say “buhk buhk.” That was Hank’s catchphrase in the GameCube version of Animal Crossing.

Benedict: Buhk buhk! I love it! It's so cool sounding. And then I heard a balloon present flying by overhead. By the time I got my slingshot out, I saw something strange. The balloon was moving vertically (well…to the south). It confused me for a second, but then I saw it resumed its horizontal path (to the east). The reason? There was a house in the way! It altered its path to go around the house!

A balloon present alters its path to go around a house!I did not know balloons would do that. So I didn’t shoot it down right away; I followed it to see if it would happen again. And sure enough, when it encountered a tent, it moved south one space to fit around the tent. It does not go back north to resume its original path, though; it stays on its new path. With no further houses in its way, I then shot it down before it went over the river.

Shooting down a balloon present. POP!After that, I went to go work at the cafe. Thanks to my previous notes (and the process of elimination), I was able to get Isabelle’s order correct. It’s funny how they never give the full details of how they like their coffee until after you’ve already figured it out.

Isabelle: I don't want to drink anything but mocha coffee with plenty of milk and sugar! It's my favorite! In addition to good coffee beans, Brewster also gave me a siphon. I really don’t plan on filling my house with coffee-related items, but it was a nice gesture.

With my work done for the day, I headed up to Main Street for my shopping run. I usually start at the museum on the far left of Main Street (to identify and donate any fossils), then move left to right from building to building. I update my town at the Dream Suite for an easy 5,000 bells, and then stop in Club LOL for an emotion (if I’m playing early enough in the day). Today, Shrunk taught me the surprise emotion; it’s the exclamation mark that appears over your head.

Using the surprise emotion I got from Shrunk in Club LOL.I’m still hoping for shock or disbelief, but surprise is a decent (but less dramatic)ย  alternative to those. Looking at my list of emotions, it seems I only need 11 more of them to complete the collection.

After finishing my shopping run, I decided to move forward with another town project. I decided to build the pyramid that Tex suggested to me on Friday.

Pyramid PWP: 698,000 bells. It really would have been ideal if you could build it on the beach, since an Egyptian style pyramid like this should be around sand. But unfortunately, no projects can be built down there. If you even try going down the ramp, Isabelle will stop you.

Isabelle: What's the matter, Mayor? Let's finish our work first! But I did the next best thing: I put it just to the right of the ramp, just one space from the edge. So you’ll be able to see it from the beach (if you press up on the control pad) and even from the dock. So I’m looking forward to seeing that. Unfortunately, it’s a very expensive project–698,000 bells. So it may take some time to pay it off.

That’s all for today, but of course I’ll be back with more tomorrow. I know some of you may be close to getting Shampoodle in your towns, and I just want to remind you of my Animal Crossing New Leaf Hair Guide. It will come in handy when you’re ready to get the hairstyle (and color) that you want.

Modern Clock

Today, the money rock gave me gems instead of money bags once again. This is the third time. (So take a good look!)

Ore from today's gem rock.I spotted Phineas in town, and he gave me a Skilled Diver badge.

I got the Skilled Diver badge! It's proof I've found lots of things in the sea!He also gave me a Good Samaritan badge for helping out my neighbors a lot.

I got the Good Samaritan badge! It's proof of how I never turn down a request to help!I now have a totalย  of six badgers badges. As I continued my walk around town, I saw two of my favorite animals fishing on the river bank, on opposite sides of the bridge. How cute.

Aurora and Molly fishing in the river.I heard a balloon present above, but it was no ordinary balloon present. It was a silver slingshot!

A silver slingshot floats by on two silver balloons.I shot it down, and now I can start shooting two pellets at a time.

On the bulletin board, there was a message from T.I.Y., advertising an extremely rare wall-mounted monitor. Sounds interesting. I’ll check it out later.

Important Announcement: Today we have an extremely rare wall-mounted monitor for sale! So rare, it's magic! The fruit Wendy brought me a few days ago really paid off today, as they were all producing fresh fruit! Here you can see two of my lemon trees. Stay away, Shelbyville!

Two lemon trees in Forest.I then saw Katrina’s tent and went inside. Katrina talked about a row of golden model homes. But the key to this fortune was a royal crown. Nevermind. As if I have a million bells to spend on a crown.

Katrina: Royal crown...Not far away, I spotted a new house. Rolf has moved in!

Rolf: Anyway, starting today, I'm a resident of Forest as well!Forest now has ten villagers for the first time!

And back outside, I saw Katt. She wanted me to get her some fresh fruit. I had the perfect fruit to give her: a lemon! Unfortunately, she seemed to enjoy it.

Katt: Mmm, tasty! Can't beat fresh fruit! She even gave me a blue-trim wall as thanks. But enough about that. It was time for the ceremony commemorating the completion of the modern clock!

Isabelle: Welcome to the grand completion ceremony for Forest's vital modern clock project! But the modern clock wasn’t the only new clock I got today. From Ireland, Gulliver sent me a shamrock clock. I hung it on the wall of my museum exhibit room.

A shamrock clock from Gulliver hanging on the wall.Try to ignore those balloons. I’m in the process of splitting that stuff into two separate exhibits. But while I was up on Main Street, I took some fruit to Shrunk. He thanked me by teaching me the “worry” emotion.

Shrunk: The other day, I was walking around and I saw an older lady trip and fall before my very eyes! After that, I went into T.I.Y. to check out the wall-mounted monitor. I bought it and tried it out in my house. It’s basically just a TV, but it’s flat and hangs on the wall. And it’s not in color…

The wall-mounted monitor hanging on my cheese wall.At this point, I was done playing. But later on, in the evening, Wendy asked to use my Shampoodle to try out the color contacts. So she came over, only to find that Harriet did not give her an option for color contacts. I tried it myself and got this message:

Harriet: I'm booked with appointments for the time being, so I'm afraid I only have time to do your hair right now.Apparently, you can only get color contacts in your own town (when the gate is closed). It seems weird that visitors can have their hair done, but not their eyes.

And before I ended my night in Forest, I showed Wendy my modern clock. I noticed that it looks a bit like a guillotine, so I asked Wendy to help me get Katt into it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Jeff, to Katt: I has guillotine. But I think Katt knew what we were planning, so she quickly headed off to another part of town. That’s all for tonight, but I’ll be back with more tomorrow!

A Busy Night

As expected, my basement was completed today. And of course, it’s only 4 spaces by 4 spaces.

My new (but small) basement.I worked at the cafe again today, but I only got one customer’s order correct. One of the incorrect orders belonged to Phyllis, but I don’t feel too bad about getting hers wrong.

Phyllis: ...Bye. Blech. This isn't what I ordered at all! Story of my life...When I talked to Benedict, he had a time capsule for me to bury. I buried it near the northwest corner of town, along with all the other bodies time capsules.

Benedict: I just put together a time capsule with my most prized possession inside. Now I just have to bury it!I saw a fence where a new house is going…that’s right, Rolf is moving in tomorrow!

Sign: This spot reserved for Rolf's new home. -Nook's HomesAnd since I have my basement now, it was time to start a new community project. I chose to install a modern clock, and it will be over near the town tree. Afterwards, Tex approached me with a new idea for a town project: a pyramid!

Tex: I know exactly what would do it. We need a pyramid. In the Dream Suite, Luna told me that the most recent visitor to my dream town was Marcey from London.

Luna: According to the latest feedback, a client named Marcey from London enjoyed your dream. But then she also told me Forest has had 666 visitors!

Luna: Records state the number of clients who have experienced a dream about Forest is 666.In Shampoodle, Harriet informed me that I now am able to get colored contact lenses now!

Harriet: This new machine offers the latest in beauty-enhancement technology. It even does color contacts!Back in town, I caught two new fish: a dorado and a char. I donated them to the museum. I ran into Molly, and she gave me a violin.

Molly: Um, Jeff. I hope this isn't presumptuous, but I think you could use a violin. And I have a lot of violets growing over by my house, so I decided to take some of them and put them around the fountain. I’ll be adding more in the near future, but this is just a start.

Violets around my town fountain. And down on the beach, I found Gulliver. He’s on his way to Ireland, so I can expect a gift from him in the mail tomorrow.

Gulliver: ...Ireland!After some fishing and seashell-collecting, I had earned enough money to pay off my modern clock project. It will be done tomorrow.

Isabelle: We've met our collection goal for the modern clock project! It should be complete tomorrow! At 10:00, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. Wendy, Ryan, and Josh came in…and then we got disconnected. I reopened and someone tried to come in…and then we disconnected.

I kept trying though, and my town filled up with Wendy, Josh, and Ben. And once again, we got disconnected. Sorry Josh, but I have a feeling your connection might have been the problem…especially if you were the person who tried to come in that second time. About 20 minutes had passed before my town filled up and the disconnections stopped. I had Wendy, Ben, and Marcey in my town. Yes, that’s the Marcey who had visited my dream town earlier! Anyway, we hung out in the cafe for a bit…

Hanging out in the Roost cafe with friends. And then we went in my house for a while. I have a lot of interactive objects in my main room that are fun to play around with.

Playing with objects in my house. But after a while, we headed up to Club LOL for some dancing.

The four of us dancing at Club LOL.And later, we went to the island. There were lots of good beetles out on the trees! We also did two tours; Marcey won the beetle tour.

Tortimer: Marcey gets 4 medals, Wendy gets 2 medals. We then went on an item-matching tour. It didn’t have individual winners; apparently we were supposed to work as a team. But for all that work, we only got two medals. Ouch.

Tortimer: Well, you met your goal, so here you go--2 medals. After that, we returned to Forest. Kapp’n sang an interesting song about his wife cleaning him in the shower. o.O

Kapp'n, singing: Sudsy! Scrubsy! Loofah! Then shampoo squirts! Me wife's plan to clean 'er man--even if it hurts!I got my toy hammer out to show Tabby.

Smacking Tabby with my toy hammer. We dug holes with our shovels to trap her. Wendy and I also used our hammers…although Wendy seems to think she’s the Statue of Liberty in this picture:

Wendy appears to hold up her toy hammer as she attacks Tabby.Marcey was showing us what happens if you jump down from a tree stump and into a hole; it acts as if it was a pitfall seed.

Marcey stuck in a hole. And then, there was this picture…

I appear to be spanking Marcey with my toy hammer as she jumps out of a hole. And of course, I tried it out too.

Me trapped in a hole after jumping off a tree stump. But as I was digging a hole, I accidentally dug up my special stump! I never even got any mushrooms out of it yet. ๐Ÿ™ I planted a peach in the same spot, but I don’t know if it will be special again or not. But shortly after that, I ended the multiplayer session for the night. I had a good time. ๐Ÿ™‚
