Checking Out Toby’s RV

Beth recently bought some of the Sanrio Amiibo cards that are available in Europe (but not America). She scanned the Toby card over the weekend, and I went over to her town Acorn to check out Toby’s RV.

The outside of Toby's RV from the Sanrio Amiibo pack in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.I went inside to meet him, and he’s an odd-looking fellow. He’s a yellow rabbit with greenish hair, dressed like a barber’s pole with a snowman in his hair.

Toby, inside his RV: Why, hellooo there! Are you here to light up this town with your mere presence as well? There are some very cool items in Toby’s RV, especially this tranquil bridge. It’s just a furniture item of course, but wouldn’t this make a great PWP?

Tranquil bridge item from Toby's Sanrio RV.I ordered it, the Kerokerokeroppi wall, and the Kerokerokeroppi doll (which appears to be a snowman in a glass box).

The Kerokerokeroppi doll from Toby's Sanrio RV.When I was done in Toby’s RV, I also visited my friend Lily (also in Acorn). She was impressed that I came to visit her so early in the morning. (It was actually late at night in my time zone, but Acorn is 5 hours ahead of me).

Lily: Good morning, Jeff! I can't believe you dragged yourself out of bed this early to visit me.She told me that she sometimes hangs her clothes on a scarecrow to let them dry. What a weird frog.

Lily: One thing I've been doing is hanging my clothes on a scarecrow to dry.And once her clothes are dry, she gets wet. In the bath.

Lily: Lately I've been enjoying long hot baths at the end of my day.I also visited Beth’s house. Maybe I was just tired, but I thought her Nintendog looked like a severed arm from behind.

Jeff: Severed arm! :oIf you don’t see it, try looking at the dog’s back-right leg as a thumb and its tail as a forefinger, reaching down towards the blue mushroom.

Yesterday, I caught my first snowflake of the season!

Wow! A snowflake! I should be gentle with it so it doesn't melt!Since my pocket space was limited, I went ahead and sold it. It’s too early to build a snowmam to give it to anyway.

Celia the eagle was camping at the campsite today. She seems nice, and she’s a villager that I rarely see. But I didn’t ask her to move in.

Celia: Oh, hello! I hope it's all right that I set up came here.

My recent dream visitors have been Wesley from Bellwood, Jessica from Unova, Lyric from Avalon, Kaelynn from Ogden, and Andrea from Delrod. Thanks for stopping by!

By the way, I’m continuing to update the dream addresses for towns featured in Jeff’s Dream Suite Adventures whenever I can. But I heard back from StarmanPhantom today (some of you may remember him as Ness or Bushido from my ACCF videos), and he told that he restarted his town at some point, so he can no longer upload his Mother 3-themed town of Tazmily. So that goes into the “eternal slumber” category of dream towns lost forever.

Update: The Welcome Amiibo cards are back in stock at Amazon. I just ordered a pack of them myself. I’ll post about the cards I get in an entry once they arrive.

Outdoor Sign & Jack’s RV

On Tuesday, I received Julian’s goodbye letter in the mail. He also enclosed his picture. So long, Julian! See you soon.

Julian's goodbye letter in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.I found my former villager Velma has started appearing on Main Street. I said hello to her as she went shopping.

Velma, on Main Street: Well, hello, Jeff! Out for a little shopping, I see?Last night, I saw that Harvey had this outdoor sign for sale. It looks like it’s made for a coffee shop.

Harvey: Ah! So you're interested in my outdoor sign...I bought it, but I quickly found out that the outdoor sign can not be used outdoors. What’s the point of calling it that then?

An outdoor sign appears as a leaf outdoors.Still, I took it up to Re-Tail to see what customization options were available. The only one was to turn it into a blue signboard. But when I picked it up later, it wasn’t just the color that had changed. Instead of a coffee cup, it now shows a cat reading a book? Good choice for a library, a bookstore…or a school for cats, I suppose.

The blue signboard option for the outdoor sign shows a cat reading a book. Good for a library.

I found Kevin Bacon at the campsite, but I wasn’t in the mood for pork.

Kevin: I was really focused on running. I ran and ran and ran. And when I looked up, I was in this town! When I checked out the drive-in campground, I found Jack there for the first time. At first, he said “trick or treat,” but he quickly corrected himself.

Jack: I've really got to stop taking my work with me on vacation...Since he’s so good at scaring people, I decided to turn the tables and scare him! HONK!

Jack acts scared as I honk the horn of his RV.

Today, Hamlet asked me to bury a time capsule for him. I buried it in the top-left (northwest) corner of town, as usual.

Hamlet: I made a time capsule!I went up to the Happy Homes Showcase for the first time since the update, and Digby had something to tell me. He said that the exhibition space can only be accessed by people playing the new version (Welcome Amiibo).

Digby: Jeff, I believe this is your first time back since upgrading...However, all of the houses on display from before the update were still there. But maybe new ones won’t appear unless they’ve updated their game? This seems like it will make it even harder to get those StreetPass badges, since many people haven’t updated their game. Ugh.

Anyway, my recent dream visitors have been Nisno from Partom C, Paige from Congo, and Ruben from Fun Town. Hamlet also mentioned Serenity from Pink Sky. Thank you all for stopping by!
