Hello, Hornsby!

On Sunday, I received Camofrog’s goodbye letter in the mail. He also included his picture in the envelope. He was an alright villager, but it was definitely time to move on. Bye, froggy.

To my pal Jeff, The time for my journey has come! I never thought I'd be in Forest for so long. Were you the cause of that?! Let this picture remind you of the good times. See ya! -Camofrog

On Tuesday, I scanned in a new Amiibo card. It’s not one that was in my previous packs of cards I bought. Instead, I bought this one separately, on eBay. The villager on the card is Hornsby the rhino.

Hornsby was one of the first villagers I ever had in the first Animal Crossing game on GameCube. He may not have been one of the starting five animals in town, but he was a memorable villager for me in my first few months with the game. And his catchphrase, schnozzle, was just as memorable. 🙂 Anyway, here is a look at his RV.

Hornsby: It just tastes better, you know? Enough chat! I've gotta start to prep for my move, schnozzle. Then yesterday, my bank account balance reached 102 million bells.

Today, Hornsby (and his house) arrived in Forest. He lives behind Boots’ house, and a bit in front of the bulletin board. That’s a pretty convenient spot.

Here’s a look at my up-to-date town map. (I have also updated my town page to reflect Hornsby’s arrival and the current map).

So I went inside to meet my new friend. Welcome to Forest, Hornsby! Schnozzle!

Hornsby: As soon as I'm done with all this boring stuff, we'll go on a sweet adventure, schnozzle!Over by the Roost, I found a lost item on the ground. It belonged to Boots, and he gave me a metronome to thank me for returning it.

Boots: Oh! I must have set this down when I did those squats on my way back from the power-food store.

Camofrog’s Last Day

I striped spotted Savannah at the campsite last week. I couldn’t invite her into town since the town is still full, but that’s okay. I’ll be getting a new villager soon enough.

Savannah: Oh, hello! I hope it's all right taht I set up came here.

Since Boots recently had the nine lamp and eight lamp, I’ve been trying to keep up with the pattern. So I had a seven lamp in my pockets when I visited him earlier this week. He noticed it, and asked to buy it from me for 1,750 bells. Deal!

Boots: And...you've...got...EXACTLY THE KIND I'M LOOKING FOR!!Interestingly, after agreeing to the trade, he actually gave me 2,100 bells instead of 1,750. He must have been one happy dude. He was in seven heaven. Anyway, I exited his house and re-entered, and I found it exactly where I hoped it would be.

Agent S: I bring my used things here because they'll be new to someone else, if I die!On Thursday, Boots offered another trade. He wanted my six lamp (yes, I’m trying to stay a step ahead of him now) in return for my broken post. Once again, I agreed to the trade.

Boots: I'll trade broken post on my team. Six lamp on your team comes over to me.And sure enough, he put it in the same spot. 😀

This has become like a game within a game for me. I have to keep buying lamps, but I don’t mind, because I want to help him count down to zero. 😛 I already have a five lamp ready to go when the time comes. I’m not sure what this is doing for Boots’ sanity, however.

Boots: I've got the ears of an alligator!

Today was Camofrog’s last day in town, so I visited him to say goodbye. So long, frogger. He was a nice guy and all, but it’s time for him to move on.

Camofrog: Darn! I forgot to write down what's in each box! That was dumb of me!

Vivian approached me tonight with an interesting offer. She wanted to trade her portable toilet for my bathroom stall.

Vivian: Maybe your bathroom stall for my portable toilet?

It’s my duty as mayor to help out, so we did our business and made the trade. It was a splashing success.

My recent dream visitors have been Anna from Vanilje, Luna from Foxville, Luna from Chrismas, Mayounna from Amy Rose, Aliya from Halfway, Caro from Darkness, Xavier from Quigley, and Jennifer from Beletron. Thank you all for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed your visit!

See you next week…with a new villager in town. 🙂

Lazy Decorator

When visiting Boots’ house, I saw that he had displayed the picnic basket I gave him. The bad news? He put it in the spot where the eight lamp was!

He put the moth in the same spot where the picnic basket was. Is that the only part of his house that he ever redecorates? How lazy of him. 😛

On Sunday, Vivian pinged me to suggest a new public works project (PWP)! She suggested a modern streetlight.

Vivian: Good. So I think I'm going to tell Isabelle my bright idea. We need a modern streetlight!
Bright idea. I get it.

I went inside of town hall to take a look at it. At only 64,000 bells, it is a pretty inexpensive PWP. I do like the modern stuff, but I’m not planning on putting this in anytime soon. I’m just happy to get another PWP suggestion added to my list of choices. I still need two more snooty suggestions from Vivian, though.

Tonight, I found Bob enjoying a catnap on the yellow bench in the park. He seems to use this bench a lot! This is the 4th time I’ve found him there in the past two months! I decided not to wake him up and just let him sleep.

He’ll be moving out on September 23rd, and I’m quite happy about that! That means I’ll be able to move someone else in the following week. Yes, I already know who it’ll be. But no, I’m not telling yet. 😉

Camofrog: I've already picked a day too. I'll be leaving on the 23rd of this very month!

My recent dream visitors have been Berna from Istanbul, Brayden from Popcicle, Xaviar from Big City, Riley from Merde, and Raven from Newberry. Thanks for stopping by!
