I started up the game tonight just before midnight. However, it was a little closer to midnight than I realized; the clock on my Wii U was a bit fast! So I didn’t quite make it to the plaza in time to see see the final countdown. And I didn’t exactly have far to go, either. \ud83d\ude06<\/p>\n\n\n

But I still spoke with Tortimer, and he wished me a happy new year. Tom was also there in the plaza.<\/p>\n\n\n

I made sure to enjoy the fireworks from several spots around town.<\/p>\n\n\n

The villagers that were outside were talking about the fireworks, as you’d expect.<\/p>\n\n\n

Gaston said that the fireworks make everyone a kid again.<\/p>\n\n\n

Yeah, you’d need to shave off that bushy mustache to look like a kid again, Gaston.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

When I visited Queenie, she informed me that she’s going to demand even more from our friendship in the new year. <\/p>\n\n\n

Apollo’s replacement has moved in, and it’s Lobo the wolf. His eyes look so huge!<\/p>\n\n\n

Unfortunately, Lobo is another cranky<\/strong>! So I’m back up to eight cranky villagers again. Oof. Why is my town cursed like this lately? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One random note about New Year’s Eve: I think it’s so disappointing that we never see fireworks in the city. Why wouldn’t a seemingly big city not celebrate the new year, while every small town with a population of ten or less does<\/em>? Hmm…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
