Tonight was my first time this year attending the City Folk fireworks. Mayor Tortimer can be found at town hall, talking about how great the fireworks are. He also hands out roman candles and sparklers so that you can have your own fireworks in addition to the bigger ones up in the sky.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2059\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jvgs.net\/accfblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/RUU_4795-small.jpg\" alt=\"Tortimer: There's nothing like some loud noises and bright lights to get you in that summer mood, sprout!\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jvgs.net\/accfblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/RUU_4795-small.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.jvgs.net\/accfblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/RUU_4795-small-150x113.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.jvgs.net\/accfblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/RUU_4795-small-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/>The music that plays during the event is festive and cheery, if a bit repetitive. And yet, it gave me an overwhelming feeling of sadness. This year is the first without online play for Wii games, so the happy music rings hollow. I&#8217;m reminded of the fun I had in fireworks festivals of the past. Sliding on the beach, waxing Tortimer&#8217;s shell with Megan, Egbert pecking at my Napoleonfish, and even Ben trying to burn my house down. I imagine it might be like walking around inside an amusement park that was closed down. Ribbot was determined to find out where they&#8217;re shooting off the fireworks from. He figured they must be nearby because of how loud the fireworks are.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2058\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jvgs.net\/accfblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/RUU_4796-small.jpg\" alt=\"Ribbot: I wonder where they're launching these rockets from, Mr. Roboto?\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jvgs.net\/accfblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/RUU_4796-small.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.jvgs.net\/accfblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/RUU_4796-small-150x113.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.jvgs.net\/accfblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/RUU_4796-small-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/>In what was one of my primary flower breeding grounds, I found a new black rose. But what once might have been a happy discovery now means very little. They&#8217;re beautiful for a moment, and then they&#8217;re gone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2056\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jvgs.net\/accfblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/RUU_4798-small.jpg\" alt=\"Melba: I wonder what it is about them?
