I made my way through the volcano and I ended up getting something new: Digging mitts. They let me dig into the ground where there’s an X.

Continuing on, the path led me back outside and I continued up the mountain. At one point, a mysterious woman in black helped me out. Interesting.

I reached a temple that was locked. Turns out I needed five keys hidden all over the mountain to get in. I used my dowsing ability to help me out, even though it sometimes misleads me. It will act like a spot on the ground is where the item is, but it’s not. It may be in that direction, even through the ground to a lower level. So that threw me off for a while. I made a couple circles around the mountain and I eventually found all five keys, which combined into one.

I then made my way to the temple entrance and saved my game. I’ll go inside next time.

After stopping at the bazaar, I rode my bird down through the new hole to a new area…Eldin Volcano.

I met some new creatures who let me use some bomb flowers. Not only can you throw them, but you can also roll them like a bowling ball.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a bomb bag yet, so I can’t take bombs with me. I can only use them near where the bomb flowers are blossoming.  This area is filled with lava, and I fell in a few times, although it was because I was trying to make a jump but the game wouldn’t let me auto-jump. There are places where it looks like you should be able to auto-jump, only to find out the hard way that you can’t.

Anyway, I found a heart container piece and hit one of those stones that send a light beam up into the sky. Killed some enemies and solved a few minor puzzles as I made my way inside the volcano. It was getting late, so I saved my game there.

After spending hours in the first dungeon yesterday, I decided to take it easy today. I did go back into the dungeon to explore a little with the beetle, and I did get that heart container piece.

I caught some bugs and did some other exploring. I then went back up to the sky and into the floating shop. I bought a larger wallet, which lets me carry an additional 300 rupees.

I went into the Statue of the Goddess and put the new tablet into the thingamabob. A ray of light opened up a path to a new area on the surface. That’s where I’m supposed to go next.

When I came out of the building, a woman asked me to help find her daughter. I agreed to help, but I couldn’t seem to find her. One guy suggested it might be related to a rumored monster that comes out at night, so I found a bed and slept until nighttime. I went outside to explore, but still didn’t find any mysterious man or monster. There’s still that demon cat, though. But I don’t think a cat could kidnap a girl. Maybe I’ll search a little more tomorrow.
