NEW LEAF BLOG

Jeff's Tomodachi Life Blog

This blog describes my crazy adventures in Tomodachi Life, a bizarre simulation game for Nintendo 3DS. It is available now. Check out my Tomodachi Life review, scan QR codes, or buy Tomodachi Life at Amazon.

Entry 8: The First Wedding

Miss Piggy told me she was ready to propose to Zoidberg! She asked my permission, and I told her to go for it.

She also asked me where she should pop the question. I told her to do it during fireworks. So I was then placed in a mini-game of sorts. Zoidberg and Miss Piggy were watching fireworks, and I had to choose the right moment.

I had to click the touch screen when Zoidberg was thinking of Piggy. But his thoughts would wander to the fireworks or other random things, so you have to be quick.

After a couple of attempts, I timed it right and she popped the question!

He said yes!

And just like that, the wedding was held.

As the ceremony ended, Miss Piggy threw the bouquet. It didn't show who caught it, however.

They immediately went on their honeymoon in Cambodia. I got to see some of their photos.

Afterwards, a news flash told me that the Mii Homes section of the island is now open. The newlyweds now have their own home here, although they will still hang out in their apartments sometimes too. Today, I rang their doorbell when they apparently weren't expecting me.

I could choose which of them I wanted to talk to. (Why not both?). But I spoke with Zoidberg, and he went on and on about how wonderful Miss Piggy is. I got tired of hearing about how thoughtful and beautiful she is. The game even jokes about it by fast-forwarding through some of the gooey gushing.

The Mii Homes area appears to have room for 20 houses (for 20 married couples), but pressing up on the control pad reveals there's enough space for 50 houses! That's enough space for all 100 of your Miis to get married.

In other news, the import shop has opened up. This is where you'll receive SpotPass items that Nintendo sends out. For now, I was able to pick up this graduation cap.

While checking in on Breezy, I got to play a bizarre mini-game; Using a feather, I had to tickle Breezy's nose to make her sneeze!

In today's rap battle, Breezy defeated Yukon Cornelius. I can just imagine him riding his ice sheet back to the Island of Misfit Toys.

And down on the beach, Buster Bluth was facing his second-biggest fear, the ocean. He was running up and down the shore--maybe he was running from a loose seal.

Meanwhile, Elly was hanging out at the amusment park; I found her up on the ferris wheel.

As the ferris wheel slowly went up and around, she started to drift off to sleep.

And last but not least, is this odd picture. It's Mr. Bean, Lindsay, and Bobby Hill all wearing broccoli hats.

If you'd like some celebrity Miis to add to your island, Nintendo has provided some on the official Tomodachi Life site. You can scan QR codes for Christina Aguilera, Shaquille O'Neal, Debby Ryan, Shaun White, and Zendaya. See you next time!

Notes: Nintendo has graciously provided me with an advance copy of Tomodachi Life. Thanks, Nintendo! All Miis shown were made by me or my friends and are not in the game by default.
