In January, Nintendo released a new QR code for an “ears collection.” You can access it on the official DMW2 downloads page, or just scan it right here.

Even though it’s called an ears collection, it actually has more sunglasses than anything. Here’s the list of items unlocked: the rare Mickey character shades, the rare Minnie character shades, a Mickey tote bag, a Minnie tote bag, rare Minnie ribbon ears, rare chiffon Minnie ribbon, gold Mickey & Minnie shades, and magic Mickey & Minnie shades.

More recently, Nintendo posted another QR code. This one unlocks five “villain” items.

This includes the Queen of Hearts headband, Maleficent headband, Ursala headband, Jafar headband, and Cruella hair. Here’s a look at me wearing the Jafar headband.

And now that it’s February, you can find the Valentine’s balloons for sale in McDuck’s. Just be sure to pick them up by Valentine’s Day.

I haven’t been playing the game much lately. But when I do, it’s generally to farm and to work in the cafe. I’m trying to (eventually) host every cafe party possible. There are a lot of them, so it’s going to take quite a while.

Update: Later in February, Nintendo posted yet another QR code. This one unlocks the princess set, which consists of seven princess-related items. That includes a casual Rapunzel T-shirt, a casual snowflake T-shirt, a valentine Mickey hat, an Ariel tote bag, a Belle tote bag, a Cinderella tote bag, and a Jasmine headband. Here is the QR code:

After Christmas, the snowmen and other Christmas decorations were gone from around Castleton. I hope you all enjoyed your holidays!

On New Year’s Day, Mickey had a special favor to ask of me. He wanted me to wear a samurai outfit (from the Japanese theme), and when I did, he gave me a Mickey daruma doll.

Later in the day, Minnie also had a favor to ask: She asked me to wear a kimono outfit. But no, you don’t get to see a picture of me wearing the kimono. 😛 In return, she gave me the Minnie daruma doll. This is what the dolls look like:

Back by the waterfall in 100 Acre Wood, I caught my first green crownfish. That was the 37th (and final) type of fish I’ve caught, so my fish collection is now complete.

The official DMW2 site has some new downloads available for the New Year’s celebration. Scan the QR code to receive a Japanese fan, Mocha (a Sorcerer’s Apprentice themed bear), a white bouquet, a star festival Mickey hat, a rare gold mickey top hat, a fancy print balloon, a Mickey print balloon, and a Minnie print balloon. After replaying episode 15 in Atlantica (The Little Mermaid world), I earned enough deep sea medals to make the Donald star wand at Yen Sid’s tower. This was the final wand I needed to complete my magic wand collection.

I then returned home for some dreaming. I began with the Sleeping Beauty dream “Looming Menace.” Maleficent turned into a dragon and burned my butt!

Phillip and I then defeated the dragon. Yes, I actually helped! Of course, it was just a dream, but I’d like to think of it as an accomplishment. 😉 After Aurora woke up, I hopped into her bed to take a nap. Wait, I’m sleeping during a dream? Is this Inception?

Next, I went on the Tangled themed dream of “The World Outside.” I took a swing on Rapunzel’s hair, and I also climbed up it.

I then launched a sky lantern from a boat.

And with that, I have now completed every dream in my dream book.

My overall item collection is currently at 93.98% complete. Here’s an updated look at my collection screen.

The spring holidays start on April 1st, and most of the items I still need are things I can’t get until then. So unless there are unexpected developments, I may not be back with another entry until April. Looking for a Pascal plush toy from Tangled?

For a long time, I was stuck trying to figure out how to make a royal rose, which was the last farming crop I needed to grow. The collection page said it was made by mixing black with gold.

Now the problem was that the royal rose is the gold rose. So how can I mix a black rose with a gold one if I don’t have a gold one? 😛 Figuring it was an error, I tried mixing red and white, red and black, and black and white (those are the only other roses in the game). But no luck.

So I thought maybe the gold had to be a different crop altogether. So I tried crossbreeding the black rose seeds with other crops that looked gold. That included the rich butterynut seed, the royal milkberry seed, and twinkle flower seed. None of those worked either.

But finally, when I planted a golden apple seed next to the black rose, I finally got my royal rose seed! I’m not sure why or how apples are crossbreeding with roses, but I’m glad to have finally figured that out. Once I harvested the rose, my farming collection was complete!

Shortly before Christmas, Nintendo of America released another set of items via QR code on the official DMW2 site. It unlocks the following holiday items: Two Mickey Santa outfits (a red one and a green one), a rare festive candle, a festive Mickey hat, a rare dusk Mickey top hat, a rare bright mickey top hat, a festive tree balloon, holiday wallpaper, a holiday rug, a holiday table, a holiday chair, and a holiday counter.  For your convenience, here is the QR code.

For a favor, Minnie invited me over to her house. The whole gang was there for a holiday get-together! It was a surprise Christmas party! Minnie also gave me two gifts, a holiday candle and festive wreath. We then took a commemorative photo together for the occasion.

You can see I was using my shocked pose there. I’ve been having fun with that greeting (maybe a bit too much), using it all around town for no particular reason. It just looks funny, that’s all. 🙂

I recently had my first StreetPass hit in Disney Magical World 2! Sadly, it does not show the StreetPass visitor arriving by balloon like it did in the first game. But this is her, Wendy.

And by request, here is a look at me wearing the reindeer outfit I got last time. Why does it have a bow though?

I went home for some dreaming, going on the Winnie the Pooh themed dream “Hold on Tight!” and the Peter Pan dream “Starry Night Flight.”

It looks like there are only two more dreams I haven’t viewed/played yet, so I’ll be sure to finish those off next time. Right now, my overall game collection is at 89.24% complete. Have a Merry Christmas, and I’ll see you next time!
