Teleporting Tourist

On Wednesday, Greta the mouse was camping at the campsite. She seemed nice, but I’m really not a fan of her otherwise. The geisha makeup looks a bit weird on her in my opinion, and I’m not big on mice villagers in general, plus she’s a snooty as well.

Greta, at the campsite: Ah, do you live here? I'm Greta. A pleasure.

Last night, Kid Cat asked me to catch a horned dynastid for him. I can see why he’d want one. They’re strong, tough, and awesome! πŸ˜› So I caught one for him, and he said he’d reward me with a trophy…

Kid Cat: Thanks! I got you a trophy for your hard work! OK, it's not a trophy, but take it anyway!

Not a literal trophy, though. But he did give me his photo again!

Kid Cat: You scored a point with me today, jetsetter. Have Kid Cat's photo!
Wait, just one point?

Yeah, that actually is pretty trophy-like. In New Leaf, I even keep my extra villager photos in my trophy room at the museum.

Today, Peanut kidnapped me for a mandatory birthday party. (Louie and Static were also there.) I must admit that the piΓ±ata part is still pretty cool. πŸ˜›

Peanut, Louie, and Static encourage me as I hit the pinata at my birthday party.

A bit later, I was going into the shop when I saw Gaston walking around outside (as a tourist again).

Gaston walking around outside just before I enter Nook's Cranny.

And yet when I got inside the store, Gaston was already in there shopping! What’s up with that?

Gaston, clearly inside the shop already.
No one teleports like Gaston.

Here are a few other quick notes about this week:

  • On Sunday, K.K. Slider performed “K.K. March” for me and Bones.
  • I helped out Gullivarrr on Tuesday, and he sent me a sea captain’s coat.
  • K.K. Slider sang “K.K. Birthday” for me today. Bob and Merengue were also in attendance.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Serious Bug-Off?

On Wednesday, I spotted Beardo in town once again! He was sitting on the chair near my stonework kitchen!

Beardo: Will you forgive me for treating this island like my own personal spa and rejuvenation clinic?
Never.

So I dug a hole right in front of the chair. Even though he never got up to fall into it, at least I didn’t run into him elsewhere in town. He stayed there for my entire session. πŸ˜†

Trapping Beardo on a chair.

I ran into Pascal while diving, and he told me that books are like mouths with a hundred paper tongues, each with something to say. I don’t know, that sounds a bit creepy to imagine opening a book and seeing a bunch of tongues inside. πŸ˜›

Pascal: Books are like mouths with a hundred paper tongues. And each one's got important stuff to say.

He gave me two pearls for my scallop.

Broccolo the mouse was camping at the campsite. He’s a cute little mouse, but I did not invite him to move in.

Broccolo, at the campsite: It's a buncha fun camping on this island. The air smells good, like food. I wanna bite it, eat it!

Yesterday, I hit five rocks to complete a Nook Miles+ goal, and my miles balance topped six million bells for the first time.

Nook MIles: 6,000,030

Today, the July Bug-Off was held. Louie seemed to be taking it waaaaay too seriously. He wasn’t monkeying around. Chill out, man!

Louie: I WILL DESTROY YOU, AND RULE THE BUG-CATCHING SCENE WITH A SIX-LEGGED FIST!
Your fist has six legs?

I participated in one round, catching 15 bugs and scoring 17 points.

Flick: Well done. You earned 17 points!

I sold my 15 bugs for 12,150 bells. I also redeemed some points for a ladybug umbrella and a bug wand. To take advantage of Flick while he was in town, I grabbed some bugs out of storage and sold them. Flick paid me 218,250 bells for the 32 bugs.

Here are a few other quick notes about the past week in Forest:

  • Last Saturday, K.K. Slider performed “K.K. Bossa” for me, June, Savannah, Agent S, and Kid Cat.
  • On Monday, I played a treasure hunt game with Louie. I found the treasure (a pineapple aloha shirt) in just 10 seconds!
  • I helped out Gulliver on Tuesday, and he sent me a tam-o’-shanter.
  • I returned a lost item to Peanut on Wednesday, and she rewarded me with a lawn mower! That’s about as exciting as watching grass grow. πŸ˜‰
  • Yesterday, I recovered Wisp’s spirits for him. To thank me, he gave me a glass holder with candle. πŸ•―οΈ

Talented Folks

The summer fishing tourney was held last Saturday, and I played just one round. I caught six fish (including two guppies) to score eight points.

I caught a guppy!

C.J. paid me 4,950 bells for the six fish. I had enough points for a prize, so I redeemed them for a fish-print tee.

On Sunday, Pascal popped up from under the sea when I caught a scallop. He told me that talented people are just normal people who practice something a lot.

Pascal: Talented folks are just normal folks who practice something more than other folks, maaan.

He gave me two pearls for my scallop and swam away. He’s a talented swimmer, that Pascal. πŸ˜‰

Yesterday, Bones was sick with a cold, so I bought some medicine for him. After taking the medication, he started to feel a bit better. But the reward he gave me wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.

Bones: Hey! Lemme give you this as thanks. An eggshell! Enjoy it.

Here are a few other quick notes about the past week:

  • Last Saturday, Gullivarrr sent me another pirate bandanna in the mail.
  • On Sunday night, K.K. Slider performed “K.K. Cruisin'” for me, Savannah, Static, Merengue, and Bob.
  • I gave some medicine to a sick Kid Cat, and he rewarded me with a balloon hat.
  • On Monday, I sold 32 bugs to Flick for 224,250 bells.
