Passing Around Underwear

Last Saturday night, Kid Cat, Agent S, and Bob were seated at the plaza, ready to join me for K.K. Slider’s concert. They even jumped down with me as the music started…

Agent S, Kid Cat, Bob, and Jeff get out of their seats as the K.K. show starts.

But as the lights dimmed and then came back up, all three of them started walking away! I thought it was too late for them to cancel out once they jumped out of their seats with me! Oof!

Agent S, Kid Cat, and Bob walk away, leaving me alone at the concert.

A clip of this will be in the next New Horizons Moments video, which should be up in the next couple days or so.

Yesterday, I returned a lost item to Kid Cat. He thanked me by giving me a long underwear set, saying he hopes he’s not being too generous!

Kid Cat: I hope I'm not being too generous! I'm giving you a long-underwear set.
You’re not.

Moments later, Louie just happened to be looking for a long-underwear set! He offered me 262 bells for it, and I agreed to the sale.

Louie: I'm looking for a long-underwear set, but...

It just seems odd that of all the things to be passing around from villager to villager, we’re doing it with long underwear. 😛

Today, I found Octavian hanging out in town as a tourist. He said it was nice to talk to a local sucker. (At least if you ignore his comma.) 😆

Octavian: But I gotta admit it feels real nice to have a little stop-and-talk with a local, sucker!

Here are a few other quick notes about the past week:

  • On Tuesday, I gave some medicine to a sick Bones. He thanked me by giving me a zen uniform.
  • Wednesday, I sold 15 bugs to Flick for 63k.
  • I helped Gullivarrr out on Thursday, and he sent me a pirate dress.
  • Tonight, K.K. Slider performed “Spring Blossoms” for me, Merengue, Bones, and Peanut.

In an unrelated note, I’ve been playing a lot of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream lately. If you’d like to follow along with my progress, I’ve been posting a video series. You can see the full playlist here.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everyone!

Anniversary Leaf Statue

On Sunday, Static was talking about my flying saucer that I have up on a cliff behind his house. He wondered if it fell out of space and landed there. But then he reasoned that stuff burns up in the atmosphere, so it couldn’t have fallen from space. He then concluded that it must be an alien’s flying saucer. (But…wouldn’t it still have been from space?) 🛸

Static: So it must be an alien's flying saucer!

Later on, K.K. Slider put on a special Sunday concert. He performed “K.K. Ska” for me and Kid Cat. But after the show was over, then Louie and Savannah came over to take a seat too. I wish they would have joined in sooner!

Today (April 14th) is apparently the 25th anniversary of the series’ birth (on N64, in Japan). So Nintendo sent out a special game update and this anniversary letter:

Dear friends, It's been 25 years since 4/14/01. It was said, Better than one is two, better than two is four, and better than four is...many. And there are so many of you now! Thank you. Enjoy your islands your way. Sincerely, Nintendo

A new special item was attached, a leaf statue! It’s big, and it lights up! (You can turn it on or off.)

The new leaf statue for the series' 25th anniversary.

This is a really nice surprise! And it’s a really cool item. The only bad thing is that it you can’t order another one. So keep it safe!

Leaf statue: Not for sale.

And just for the sake of completeness, here’s a photo of the leaf statue in the daylight:

The leaf statue as seen in daylight.

Whitney the wolf was camping at the campsite today, and I was honestly tempted to ask her to move in.

Whitney, at the campsite: Ah, do you live here? I'm Whitney. A pleasure.

I decided against it though, at least for now. But I wouldn’t mind having her around at some point in the future!

Were you all surprised to see the new letter and gift? I sure was! Happy 25th anniversary, Animal Crossing/Animal Forest!!

Undercover Unicorn

Last Friday, Buck the horse was camping at the campsite. I almost didn’t recognize him without his Dr. Mario outfit (if you know, you know). 😆😆😆 I did not invite him to move in.

Buck, at the campsite: Do you live here? Awesome to meet you. I'm Buck.

The next day, my old New Leaf friend Julian showed up as a tourist. But he seemed to be hiding the fact that he’s a unicorn under his soft-serve hat!

Tourist: Hey, you're from this island, aren't you? Enchante. The name's Julian!
On the next episode of Undercover Unicorn…

Last Sunday was Bunny Day (Easter), so Zipper T. Bunny was in town. He gave me a Bunny Day wand, and that’s about it. There’s not a whole lot to do once you’ve already done it in a previous year, but I’m okay with that.

Zipper: Here it is--your Bunny Day wand!

On Monday, I found Pascal while diving. He told me to spend more time watching trains than thinking about work. That sounds like a good idea in theory, but it may not be practical if you don’t live by tracks (or a train station).

Pascal: Rule of thumb, maaan. Spend more time watching trains than you do thinkin' about work.

The spring fishing tournament was held today, and I participated (but just for one run). I didn’t do very well, only catching four fish in three minutes. I should’ve had a fifth one, but that last one took way too long to take the bait; it practically lulled me to sleep and it got away. 😆

C.J.: I am SO hyped!
I hope he’s being sarcastic, because I did awful. 😆

I sold the four fish for 1,695 bells, and then I redeemed 10 points for a fish-print tee.

There was no K.K. Slider concert tonight, due to the tournament.

Here are a few other quick notes about the past week or so:

  • Last Saturday, K.K. performed “K.K. Moody” for me, Savannah, June, and Kid Cat.
  • I helped out Gulliver on Tuesday, and he sent me a tam-o’-shanter.
  • Flick was in town Wednesday, and I sold him 19 bugs for 93,750 bells.
