I got a letter in the mail from Aurora today. She thanked me for visiting her house yesterday and she sent me a washer/dryer. And while making my daily rounds today, I found four fossils…nice. Three of them were ones the museum needed, so I donated those and sold the other one.
I stopped in the Dream Suite, and Luna told me that 79 people have now visited my town in their dreams.
I hope all these people weren’t expecting a whole lot, because my town still doesn’t have a lot going on just yet! But I did finally pick up the two pitfall seeds I had left on the ground outside my house though. Then I updated my dream, and once again, I got 5,000 bells for doing it!
I then headed next door to Club LOL. I gave Shrunk three peaches again, and he taught me the agreement emotion.
Agreement was also a rare Frillard emotion in City Folk. In fact, I’ve been trying to get it for years! So this seems to back up my theory that you get “rare” emotions if you give him three fruits in a basket instead of just one fruit. Update: Apparently, it was just a coincidence. New Leaf doesn’t have “rare” emotions in the same way that City Folk did.
Next, I went into T&T Mart. It must have been my lucky Zelda day, because my two fortune cookies earned me Majora’s Mask and Midna’s Mask!
After a quick stop at the Able Sisters, I headed back to town. It was only a little after 4:00 p.m., but Fuchsia commented about it being dark outside. It was sunny and bright out, so I don’t know what she’s thinking.
After we talked, I saw her water some flowers! That’s pretty cool!
Aurora asked me to catch an orchid mantis for her. I actually hadn’t even caught one for the museum yet, so that meant I had to catch two of them. I remembered from City Folk that they hang out on white flowers, so I kept returning to the only white flower I saw. It actually didn’t take me too long to catch the two bugs. I gave one of them to Aurora, and she thanked me by giving me a common bed.
I took a break from playing at the time, but I returned after 8:00. Saturday is traditional K.K. night. Instead of being a DJ in the club, K.K. whips out his old acoustic guitar and sings one of his songs like he has done in previous games. I didn’t get a choice of songs this time, he just performed K.K. Flamenco for me. Shrunk was dancing in the background.

When he was done, he gave me a copy of the song to play at home. Unfortunately, I don’t think I have a stereo to play it on just yet. I’ll have to keep an eye open for one.
And that wraps up my day in Forest. I am tempted to go to the island later on tonight, but I probably won’t update the blog again tonight unless something noteworthy happens. But I will be back for another update tomorrow, so I hope to see you then!
The worst part is that she charges a disposal fee to get rid of it! Isn’t it bad enough that I already lost a few thousand bells on a fake painting? Ugh. I hung onto it for now.
While making my rounds around town, Aurora said she had been reading a book on how to become a better hostess. So she invited me over, right away!
I really liked her house, especially the air conditioner on the wall.
She did get a little embarrassed, knowing that I was inspecting everything.
She told me to pick out an item and said she’d give it to me.
But my pockets were full. So I rearranged some items to make space, and then talked to her again. But this time, she wanted 900 bells for the lamp instead! No thanks, I thought it was free! And I thought we were friends!
As I was leaving, she asked how I liked her house; I said I liked it a lot. That made her happy.
She told me of a Japanese player who enjoyed my dream town.
And to my surprise, she said 32 people have visited my dream town! Considering the game isn’t available in most of the world yet, I was shocked at that number.
It was early enough to catch Shrunk at Club LOL, so I headed over there. I meant to give Shrunk a peach for a snack, but because I had three peaches in one basket, it gave all three to him. He taught me the inspiration emotion.
Inspiration was a rare (Frillard) emotion in City Folk. I’m not sure if it’s still a rare emotion in New Leaf or not, but I have a feeling that I may have gotten it this time because I gave him three fruits instead of one.
That about wrapped up my day in Forest. But I have two videos for you today! First is a video version of my
But after I bought it, I noticed that Redd actually had four items for sale, not three like I thought. And the one that I didn’t see on the first look was a dynamic painting, which looked authentic. So I think I’m going to be receiving a fake painting in the mail tomorrow. Oh well.
Next, I stopped into Club LOL next door. Despite the name, this club is really fun! The music, the lights, and the dancing really liven things up. I just need to remember to play earlier in the day so I can get some more emotions!
In the T&T Mart, I spotted a high-jump mat. It’s a bit nostalgic for me, because it was one of the first items I ever got in Animal Crossing: City Folk. It reminds me of some people I used to play ACCF with back in 2008 and 2009. But I don’t have room in my house for it now, so I didn’t buy it.
One of my fortune cookie rewards was for a pipe. Sorry, but I don’t smoke. 😛
And while I was there, I decided to take a look at my catalog. The fortune cookie rewards do show up in the catalog, but you can’t order them. That’s about what I expected. However, I noticed that Gulliver items can be ordered! That was a surprise.
As for Nintendo’s Inside the Treehouse video series, they’ve put out another new episode. It’s Episode 6: The Characters of Animal Crossing. It’s pretty interesting, so check it out:
