Spring Has Sprung (Day 300)

Today is my 300th day of playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf. But more importantly, today is the day that the snow has all melted away! That’s right, spring is here! It’s so nice to see the grass again! Color has returned to the world at last!

Green grass once again! To my surprise, my snowmen were still intact! They are useless however, since my bingo card has expired and I had to throw it away.

Snowman: Bingo cards expire in the spring. After that, you'll have to wait until next year and start anew!I went over to my instrument shelter, and it told me it would start raining soon. This is actually the first time it has saved me from watering my flowers when I didn’t need to.

Hmm... From the looks of it, it could rain at any second...I think I’ll need to change my ice brick path sometime soon, but for now I just can’t get over seeing all the green!

My ice brick path clashes with the green grass. And there’s something about the igloo that I’ve noticed. It doesn’t just clear out one space in front of the door, it clears out two spaces in front. Here you can see that part of the path is gone, but also the spot directly below that is empty. Each time I’ve had a flower in that spot, it disappears with the igloo.

The campsite after a camper has left.Crazy Redd’s tent was set up at the event plaza today, so I went inside and took a chance on this dynamic painting.

Redd: Well, look at that! You've noticed that dynamic painting?I made my way up to Main Street, and Luna told me that my most recent dream visitor was Cate from Salem. And GracieGrace sold me a gorgeous closet for 98,000 bells. Just one more piece to go!

Gracie: A gorgeous closet? You have exquisite taste, darling! As the instrument shelter predicted, the rain started falling and animals popped open their umbrellas.

Tia: Talking to you helps distract me from the fact that I'm sopping wet.I kind of think Agent S was flirting with me. But maybe it’s just my imagination.

Agent S: I wish I could huddle under an umbrella with someone, up up away!I also saw Teddy, and he asked me for a piece of fruit. I gave him a perfect orange, and he loved it. (Either that, or he was auditioning for a Red Bull commercial).

Teddy: I feel energy bubbling up inside me! This is the stuff of superpowers! But the reward he gave me was a bit disappointing: a gently-used teacher’s chair.

Teddy: Here you go! It's a gently used teacher's chair! Enjoy! That’s all for now, but I’ll see you next time! I thank all of you who have been reading this blog for the past 300 days. I appreciate your comments and feedback, and it’s good to know you all are here enjoying the Animal Crossing journey like I am. 🙂

Last Day of Winter

I had a letter from Mom waiting for me when I started up the game today. She asked me why I stuck a crayon up my nose.

Dear Jeff, Remember that time when you stuck a crayon up your nose? Is it still up there? -Mom
She shouldn’t have told me green was not a creative color!

And Big Top immediately wanted to buy my fancy doll from yesterday. He only offered me 350 bells for it, but he said that was his whole life savings.

Big Top: I've been kind of obsessed with getting a fancy doll lately.A notice on the bulletin board informed me that Festivale will be held on March 3rd. I wasn’t a big fan of Festivale on ACCF, but I’m hoping the New Leaf version will be better.

~ Notice ~ This year's Festivale is next week on March 3rd!And if you’re not aware, today is the last day that snow will cover the ground. Spring is almost here! So when I saw an igloo at the campsite, I took a good look because I knew it would be the last one I saw for a while. Pompom the duck was inside, getting a stew on.

Pompom: The stew's almost done stewin', and I'm soaking up the icy-cold magic of the season!I noticed a new perfect peach on my tree behind town hall.

A perfect peach! So I decided to cut the tree down and turn it into a perfect peach tree. I also tracked down my remaining snowmen and spoke to them for the last time. Wouldn’t you know it? I got a triple ding, but no bingo.

Snowman: TRIPLE DING!I then made my shopping run up to Main Street. Gracie didn’t have anything I needed today, but I noticed the Able Sisters have started selling Festivale items.

Mabel: Oh, are you shopping for a present? Well, I see you eyeing the Festivale tank dress there. In the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Penny from Box City was my most recent dream visitor. I then returned to town, and Kidd asked me for a peach. I gave him a perfect one, and he gave me a treadmill. Trying to tell me something there, buddy?

Kidd: So please take this gift. It's a treadmill! After checking my own island, I went to a Club Tortimer island. I went on a couple of tours with the island maid Caleena, who was extremely nice.

Tortimer: Caleena gets 1 medal, and Jeff gets 1 medal!Later on tonight, the northern lights were up in the skies above Forest. As I stopped to take a picture, Big Top and Tia both walked into the picture together. Are they on a date??

Big Top and Tia enjoying the northern lights. That’s all I have for tonight, but I’ll be back with more tomorrow. The snow will be gone in the morning. Are you sad to see it go or are you excited for spring?

Read 100 Books a Year

Last night, Kidd asked me for a pear. I gave him a perfect pear I got from Tiffiny and he gave me his picture again. This means Kidd’s pic will be included in a future giveaway of my duplicate villager pics.

Kidd: For finding me that exquisite perfect pear...take my Kidd's pic!I then took a new Dream Suite Adventure to the town of Izumi. It’s a pretty town; I especially like the church and cafe in Mayor Spazzie’s house. Be sure to go check it out!

A flower clock in Izumi. This morning, Joan was selling turnips for 94 bells apiece. I bought my usual 1,200 of them.

Joan: So 1,200 turnips comes out to be... 112,800 bells altogether. Do you wanna buy them?Agent S told me she was going to move out of Forest on the 27th. Over my dead body!

Agent S: And I can do that by moving away! Yeah, by leaving Forest, I can make it more famous!I had a gem rock again today, in the same spot as yesterday’s! All these gems are piling up as I’m getting them quicker than I can sell them to villagers at Re-Tail.

Ore from today's gem rock.Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me Henry from Kyletown was my most recent dream visitor. And the Emporium didn’t have any gorgeous furniture I needed today. But Tia asked me to collect signatures for a petition “Read 100 Books a Year.” Ash let me stop over at her town to get them. Merry, who once lived in my ACCF town long ago, was the first to sign.

Merry: I seriously feel like I've known you forever! Maybe we met in another life! Hahahaha!I also got the signature of Pekoe the fossil bear cub.

Pekoe: There. How's that?Do these animals understand what they’re signing up for? More importantly, do they even know how to read?

Olaf, Blaire, Flo, and Marina also joined the cause.

Petition signatures: Merry, Olaf, Blaire, Flo, Pekoe, Marina. Thanks, Ash! I returned to Forest…and I almost forgot about returning the petition to Tia! Oops! Fortunately, I remembered just before I clicked “save and quit.” I tracked down Tia pretty quickly and gave her the signatures. She thanked me by giving me a fancy doll. Are you kidding me?

Tia: It's a fancy doll. That's my way of saying thanks!I took a look at it, and it didn’t look familiar. I don’t think I’ve seen it before.

The fancy doll.I know it’s probably too soon to get her picture, but I still would have liked something a bit more cool. Oh well. That’s all for tonight, but I’ll see you all next time.
