Last night, Aurora asked me for some medium sized furniture. I didn’t have anything good to give her, so I fished her out a sea bass. She liked it so much that she gave me her picture for it! I already had a picture or two from her before, but still…a picture for a sea bass?!
Then today, Tammy had a surprise for me. She said she’s going to move out of town on February 12th!
She’s my least favorite villager, so I have no problem with her leaving…even though I don’t have her picture. Because honestly, I really don’t want it. I suppose I could keep it in a drawer with Tabby’s pic to frighten people when they go snooping through my things, but it’s not a necessity. Tammy thought I was just playing it cool by holding back the tears. Ha!
By the way, Tammy is already spoken for; I’ll be giving her to Tiffiny next week.
Anyway, Jessica asked me for clothes to pass a rock ‘n’ roll fashion check from Gracie. So I got the clothes out of storage in preparation of loaning them to her (even though I still have not heard back from her). To save room, I put the skeleton hood on my head. Technically, the hood isn’t a rock ‘n’ roll item, but it matches the skull shirt I have on-hand, and this collection of items will pass her fashion check–I used it to pass my fourth and final fashion check in October.
Tom and I visited each other’s towns for bingo numbers and I got a double ding. That’s actually pretty good, considering that’s a new bingo card I just got yesterday.
I stopped to dance on Tom’s chessboard in the moonlight.
When I returned home, I finally checked my mail for the day. Wishy sent me this podium for wishing on the shooting star last night. Does it make me look presidential?
Forget town hall, I should make that my office. Rolf can be in charge of security and Molly can be my maritime lawyer in charge of port authority.
Luna told me that Finnian from Hyrule was my most recent dream visitor. And I wrapped up my day by failing at making a snowboy.
I’ve finished up my monthly slideshow of pictures, so here’s a look at 180 of my best pictures from January.
The mermaid furniture giveaway starts now!
***GIVEAWAY DETAILS***
WIN a complete mermaid furniture set in Animal Crossing New Leaf: Mermaid table, shelf, chair, dresser, wall, sofa, carpet, clock, bed, closet, screen, lamp, and vanity.
There are three ways to enter: [Entry details removed now that the contest is over.]
You can enter using any or all of the three methods listed, but only one entry per method. The contest will end on Saturday, February 15 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. All valid entries will be entered into a spreadsheet and a random number generator will be used to choose a winner.
The winner will be announced later that night on my Feb. 15 New Leaf blog entry and on Tumblr. I will attempt to contact the winner at that time, so make sure your Tumblr asks are turned on (if you enter on Tumblr).
If I am unable to contact you for any reason, you must contact me and claim the prize (by opening your New Leaf gate for me) by February 18 at 11:00 p.m. Eastern Standard time. If you don’t, you will forfeit the prize. If the winning entry was from a comment left on JVGS, the prize will ONLY be given to the winning friend code chosen (to prevent abuse).
More blah blah: The prizes were purchased legitimately with medals I earned on the island. They were not duplicated or hacked in any way. I am unable to keep the winner on my friend roster after the prizes have been delivered. If the winner does not claim the prize by February 18, another winner will be chosen. That winner will also have three days to claim the prize. No mermaids were harmed during this giveaway.
We actually disconnected though, so he reopened his gate and I returned to let him catalog the item again. He gave me the mushroom again, but this time I held onto it.
She offered me a dharma in exchange. Ha!
He gave me a ski-slope floor.
I built another snowman to get a new bingo card and then headed to Tom’s town. His friends Noah and Joanne were there. Tom’s instrument shelter said the weather was going to stay nice, but it was clearly raining beans.
But what good are beans without a giant to climb the beanstalk? Err…or something like that.
A bit later, Kim had some bingo numbers I needed, so I headed to her town. She pointed out that I had a tan! I hadn’t even realized it, but all this island-hopping lately has changed my skin color. Kim and I waited for a bus that never came.
Not many people install a bus stop, so I think this was my first time seeing one in person. I explored her town and I also took a look at her museum exhibits. This gyroid room was quite impressive.
She’s also working on a balloon collection.
When I returned to Forest, I saw there was a meteor shower. So I wished on a shooting star.
I went up to Main Street, and Luna told me that Ethan from Canada was my most recent dream visitor. And I put my Mouth of Truth in my World Wonders exhibit at the museum.
I also used a QR code for my trophy room that LemonBunch sent me. You can get the trophy code on the
I also did some island hopping. I went on a couple of tours with Izzy, and later I found an island with two other people (besides myself). It’s pretty rare to have three people on a Club Tortimer island, but we did a couple of tours.
On another island, I met my first Club Tortimer beggar. It was Linzy, and she asked me for bells! I asked how many she needed, but she said she didn’t know. She would leave it up to me.
I gave her 5,000 bells to be nice; she didn’t even thank me. Then she started asking me for my friend code. Uh, no. I quickly left that island and continued on to the next. Eventually, I found the mermaid vanity that I needed! So I now have the full mermaid set!
Barring any problems, my contest for the mermaid set will start tomorrow. So check tomorrow’s blog entry (and/or follow me on
When I spoke with Molly, she said she’s into swapping stuff with her neighbors. Like swapping saliva with Teddy? Hmm?
As I started rolling up today’s snowballs, I tried to use the big one to run over Tammy.
But then I felt bad, because I didn’t want to break anything. No, I don’t mean Tammy’s bones, I meant I didn’t want to break the snowball.
I saw a silver slingshot floating by on balloons, and I smiled because I knew I could ignore it now that I have the gold balloon badge.
Copper indirectly informed me that Gulliver was on the beach, so I headed down there. His clues made it obvious that he was talking about Italy.
He even made a Mario reference. He’ll be sending me a gift from Italy in the mail tomorrow.
I knew that I still needed two diving catches, and I knew that one of them was still out of season. But I had no idea what the other one was, or whether it was in-season or not. But I decided to do a little diving anyway, just in case. And that decision paid off, because I caught my first horsehair crab!
I headed over to Tom’s town to collect a couple of bingo numbers, and I now have a quintuple ding. Even though the snowmen won’t acknowledge anything more than a triple ding, it means I’m one number away from a bingo in five different ways. So hopefully I’ll bingo again sometime soon.
Tom’s penguin Roald looked like he was all dressed up!
Tom’s friends Gabi and Ronald also came to Tomville, and we danced up at Club LOL. It was quite crowded in there!
Hazel scares me.
We got disconnected, and Tom was finished after that. Back in Forest, Luna and Teddy both mentioned my most recent dream visitor, Rydelle from Arendele.
I found a lost item on the ground, and began asking my villagers if they recognized it. Eventually, I was able to reunite the item with its owner, Rolf. He rewarded me with an apple.
I ran into Teddy again, and he was acting a bit strange…
But I did ask him not to kiss me again.
