When I started up the game this morning, I saw something I didn’t want to see: Katie. The last time Katie was here on a Sunday, she made me miss out on my chance at buying turnips. But fortunately, I remembered that she can block Joan, so I opened my gate. This makes Katie disappear, so I could hunt for Joan as usual. And I found her pretty quickly this time, too. She was selling turnips for 94 bells each, and I bought 3,400 of them.
After buying my turnips, I saved and quit the game for a few hours. I came back to it later this evening. As I went in to visit Big Top, I saw that Rolf was also there visiting him.
But seeing two villagers in one house made me remember something that I saw yesterday: A birthday reminder on the bulletin board!
That’s right, I saw that sign yesterday and I forgot all about it! I missed Octavian’s birthday! I bet he’s going to slap me eight times now! And I have a feeling I won’t be getting his picture anytime soon. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now.
Agent S asked me for some fruit, so I gave her a perfect peach. And I was treated to this dialogue which could only take place in the world of Animal Crossing: “Thanks for the fruit. Please have a scarecrow.”
Over in my campsite, there was a yellow, French froggy. I’m sure he would have liked to dive into some deep conversation, but I quickly sailed out of there.
Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Keira from Heaven was my most recent dream visitor. In fact, she was apparently visitor #6000!
I also had a dream of Suzy’s town Rainbow (dream address 5000-2428-6314). While it’s not as developed as the towns featured in Jeff’s Dream Suite Adventures, it’s a decent town with some areas that look quite nice.
But it does have one thing I really dislike: Jambette.
Seeing her again made me think Cousteau isn’t so bad after all. Forget the Dream Suite, they should call it the Nightmare Suite.
I was a bit too lazy to actually catch some bugs, but I grabbed some out of my dock box. I first gave Nat an emperor butterfly, and it scored 91 points. That was good enough for first place, and he rewarded me with a cicada stereo. I then gave him goliath beetle, and it scored 99 points and earned me a mini butterfly table. My third and final bug was a cyclommatus stag; it scored only 96 points and did not earn me a prize.
Agent S and Gala finished second and third, respectively, each with tiger butterflies. Back outside, Molly congratulated me on the win.
I took my prizes up to the second floor of the museum to take a look at them. Here is the mini butterfly table on the left and the cicada stereo on the right.
Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Mario101 from Gameland was my most recent dream visitor. I also went into Club LOL to catch a Saturday night performance from K.K. I asked the singing dog for a sad song, and he played Two Days Ago for me.
Madisyn asked to come over to shop, so I opened my gate for a bit. In Able Sisters, she was drooling over the crown. At least that’s what she said. I think she was drooling over that cow skull instead.
In Nook Homes, we started talking about states that begin with the letter O. There are three of them: Ohio, Oregon, and Oklahoma. I told Madisyn that Origami used to be a state, but it folded. 😛
In the museum shop, a burglar’s head (or maybe a very large chocolate chip) was on display. I wasn’t comfortable with the idea of eating a chocolate chip that had eyes, so I chose not to buy it.
TZ corrected me, telling me that I meant bats, not batmen. She also shot down my suggestions about catwomen and wombatmen.
We moved over to my town tree, but I was still trying to name future villagers. I suggested there should be some Zelda references, such as Kiki the monkey from A Link to the Past.
I saw a witch, and I tried to burn her at the stake. But nobody brought matches, so the idea never really ignited.
Since the witch survived, I decided to use her as a decoration in my Halloween themed room!
Later on, she made some nice green soup for us all! It was mmm-mmm-good!
We hung out in several different rooms in my house. The witch even made me hover on a leaf in mid-air!
Around 11:30 or so, TZ left for the night. The rest of us gathered around the bulletin board.
Madisyn suggested that we go up to Club LOL. But first, I showed her how to stick her head into the grave.
Madisyn and I went inside the club, and we started dancing. Benedict was also there, flapping his wings like a spring chicken.
But around 11:45, Wendy said she was going to leave for the night. And before she left out the gate, Madisyn had to go too. Since everyone was leaving, I just decided to end the session and call it a night. Thanks for coming, guys!
