July FNF

Today, I saw what looked like a furniture item on the ground…

Furniture on the ground? But why would it be there? I knew the answer: It wouldn’t. I figured out it was a walking leaf, so I swung my net and caught it. I was right! These things usually fool me once a year, but not this time! Gotcha!

I caught a walking leaf! I'm glad it can't run! After depositing some money into my bank account, my balance reached 74 million bells.

Since tonight was my first Friday Night Forest since putting in my custom-design sign, I made a design for the occasion. I probably won’t do this every time, but it kinda cool to have something unique that’s for one night only.

Sign: FNF 7-8-16I got the lily-pad table and froggy chair I ordered from the Nooklings, and put them in my house. I customized the chair to be red like the other one, but unfortunately, the table couldn’t be customized.

Red froggy chairs in my frog room.At 10:00, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. Merka came over, and I gave her a pinwheel I got from the Happy Home Showcase today. A couple minutes later, Squishy also joined in. Merka gave the pinwheel to her, making her look like the generous pinwheel giver. 😉 We all took a picture by the FNF sign.

Merka, Jeff, and Squishy by the Friday Night Forest sign.We glitched onto the tracks and then went out to the bridge. Merka and I started beaning Squishy.

Me and Merka throwing beans at Squishy.Squishy and I glitched into the void under the town. Merka was trying to join us, but she had some trouble getting there at first. As I explored, I took this nice picture of the Sphinx.

The Sphinx. At one point, it looked like I could see the ocean floor. But I think it was just the cliff. Still, it looked pretty cool.

The ocean floor?Merka eventually got into the void, but it’s like she was in a different dimension: Squishy and I couldn’t see Merka, and she couldn’t see us. The only evidence we saw of Merka’s existence? Her emotions.

Invisible Merka uses emotions.Jeff: Hello from the other side.Eventually, I got tired of being in the void and I just wanted out. I tried saving the game, and that killed Merka and Squishy…but not me! I was stuck up on a cliff! I could see Merka running up the steps to Main Street, though.

Merka runs by as I blow bubbles on a cliff.I tried moving around to different spots and saving. I even tried glitching into the sky. If I died, I would respawn back on solid ground. But I would not, could not, die!

Jeff: LET ME DIEI eventually went over by the bridge and tried glitching down–and it worked. I was free at last! I sat on the bench with Squishy, while we saw a zombie back behind us.

Sitting on a bench with Squishy.I invited them to my house to see my frog room.

Squishy: Very froggish. In my house’s back room, Merka the bartender offered us drinks.

Merka: wat u wantAfter a little while, Squishy had to go. Before she left, Merka said she was heading out too, so I ended the session for the night. Thanks for coming, Merka and Squishy!

But before I turned off the game, Merka told me she had a double rainbow in her town. She let me come over briefly to check it out.

A double rainbow in Bribs.I went over to Re-Tail, and guess what her premium item was!

FrogI saw poor Lloid about to jump into the river! No Lloid, don’t jump!

Jeff: Don't jump!I was about to sell some of my perfect peaches in her town, but then we disconnected. She had to go anyway, so we didn’t meet back up. At least I got a couple pictures of the rainbow.

Back in Forest, Pashmina…well…she said some rude things.

Pashmina: What?! That's tiny! I mean, why even bother?! That's not much of a commitment at all!Actually we were talking about the lyrics in love songs. It was an odd conversation.

As I walked around Forest, I noticed a couple of missing gold roses. I reminded everyone not to run earlier, but a couple of the roses didn’t survive the night. I had some replacements, so it’s not a big deal, but maybe we shouldn’t glitch under the town so much from now on.

A missing gold rose.

Luna told me that Lukas from Forest was my most recent dream visitor. Thanks for stopping by, and have a good weekend everyone! 🙂

Helping Julian

Julian told me he wrote himself a letter that he wants to receive in the future. He put it in a time capsule, and asked me to bury it for him today.

Julian: So I want to have a nice note ready for my future self. I've put that and a gift in this time capsule. So I buried it in my usual, easy-to-remember time capsule spot: the northwest corner of town.

The location of Julian's buried time capsule.Pashmina asked me for a cherry today. I let Beth take a bunch of fruit for her new town yesterday, so I was a bit afraid there might not be any cherries left…but fortunately, I found some. So I gave one to Pashmina.

Pashmina: Ooh! Looks tasty! Here I go!After eating my cherry, she rewarded me with a froggy chair! Wow, there’s just so much froggyness lately!

Pashmina: Heh heh... This is from my secret froggy chair stash. You earned it, dude!I took it to Re-Tail and got it customized with the “red frog” option. I think I’ll put in another lily-pad table on the left side of my frog room, and use two red froggy chairs with it.

A newly-customized red froggy chair.I went up to the Dream Suite and I dreamed of Heather’s town Hell (dream address 4700-6633-4425). Despite the name, it’s actually a pretty place. I love the brick paths, and all the blue flowers and bushes make it blue-tiful!

Blue flowers and bushes in Hell.I also visited Heather’s town “in person” two years ago, when Heather won a giveaway for a bubble wand.

Back in Forest, Julian noticed something in my pockets and asked if it was an eel! I was relieved when I realized I did, in fact, have an eel in my pocket.

Julian: Hey! What's that you have there? An eel?He offered me an eight-ball tee for it. I agreed to the trade, but was it a good trade for me? Signs point to no.

One other note, although it is off-topic. If you enjoy Splatoon, please check out my new video: 50 Surprise Attacks Vol. 4! Thanks, and I’ll see you all on Friday night–it’s time for Friday Night Forest once again!

Getting Acorn Off the Ground

Beth told me she was going to restart her town this past weekend, so I let her store some items in Forest until she got her new town up and running. As she put the items on the ground, she found something else: a pitfall seed that had been behind the face-cutout standee for two months!

Beth struggling in a pitfall behind the sign.
Finally got her! Better late than never!

Once she was done, I said goodbye to her before she deleted her character and town (Otaku). It was a matter of life and Beth.

Jeff: R.I.P. Beth.Later on, she returned in a new form: Beth from Acorn. Some might say it’s a corny town name, but I’m nut the one to do it.

The new Beth. Before she left with her precious cucumber pack furniture, she made a stop at Shampoodle to get her hair done.

New Beth's new haircut.Yesterday, I made a visit to her new town. In her tent, we merged into a freaky creature, complete with an intermittent unibrow!

Beth and Jeff merge GIF.Sheldon the squirrel lives in Acorn (for obvious reasons), and I had a chat with him. He was talking about baseball and the sound of the bat hitting the ball. However, he may have been hearing a different sound: Beth was hitting me with her net!

Sheldon: Of course it's baseball, right? I love that sharp sound when the bat hits the ball!
Fortunately, she only hit me in the head.

Good luck with your new town, Beth! I’m sure you’ll have no trouble getting Acorn off the ground.

For Independence Day, I changed my town flag to the U.S. flag. I hope you all had a great 4th of July!

The U.S. flag flying at Forest Town Hall.Today, Rhonda was once again at my campsite. She also camped here in May. How many times do I have to tell her I’m not interested?

Rhonda: Hello. I hope it's all right that I've decided to camp here. You have a lovely town.It seems to be raining just about every day lately–that’s the rainy season for you. Rolf told me the rain makes him feel like a giant sponge.

Rolf: The rain makes me feel like one big sponge, tiger.
I’ll have to use him to clean up a mess I made earlier.

I went to visit Molly, and fortunately, the rain hasn’t dimmed her spirits. I wanted to offer her a snack, but she already eight.

Molly: Welcome to my home, J-bot! It's good to see you.
You too, Molly! You look gr8!

My recent dream visitors have been Alee from Sun City and Stan from Hampton. See you next time!
