Good Bones

I’ve had a lot of igloo campers at the campsite lately. But most of them haven’t interested me enough to invite them into town. That includes Frankengaga here.

Francine: We'll play a little game I like to call Find the Queen. What do you say?
Find the Queen? It’s sure not you.

But that changed on Sunday night. Bones the dog was camping, and he wanted my chocolate cake!

Bones: Hey hey! You wanna wager your chocolate cake on a round of What Do I Want to Eat?
Chocolate is poison to dogs! So you better just use it as a decoration.

However, I lost his game. So he didn’t agree to move in initially. But I kept talking to him, and eventually, I got him to stay. Good dog. I like the dog villagers–well, most of them at least. Marcel the clown dog is one notable exception. But it feels like Forest hasn’t had many dogs, so I was happy to adopt Bones.

On Sunday, Boots asked me for some fruit. I gave him a perfect apple I got from Breezy, and he loved it! In return, he gave me his picture! It wasn’t the first time he gave me his pic, but it’s nice to know he still cares.

Boots: Here you go! It's a very special Boots's pic!

Hornsby asked me to play a game of hide-and-seek, and I agreed to join in the fun. It had been a long time since I’ve played it in New Leaf. Hornsby gave me ten minutes to find him, Aurora, and Boots. I quickly found Aurora behind Rolf’s house, and I later found Hornsby trying to hide behind the lighthouse.

Shortly after that, I found Boots behind a banana tree on the beach to win the game.

When I put some money into the bank, my account balance reached 106 million bells.

Yesterday, I found Bones’ house plot near my eastern ramp. It was perfectly wedged in between my paths.

Tonight, I noticed the northern lights up in the sky. These will be gone soon, so I took a moment to enjoy them shining above the zen bell.

I went in to meet Bones, my newest neighbor! Well, I guess I already met him in the igloo, but I still welcomed him to Forest. 🙂

Bones: Since I had such a good time, and you suggested it, I decided to move here after all!
I can already tell he’s going to be a good dog. 🙂

Before wrapping up my night, I saw that Bob was sitting on the yellow bench. So I sat down to join him on a pleasant February night. He couldn’t stop smiling.

Festivale 2018

Last night, I chatted with Hornsby near the town fountain. He said it would be amazing if melted cheese came out of the fountain. Even as someone who likes cheese, I find that idea very disgusting. Sorry, Hornsby. I’m just glad that’s not an official public works project. 😛

Hornsby: Our town's fountain would be totally amazing if melted cheese came out of it.

At Able Sisters today, I recreated a design of Tortimer that was actually sent out as DLC for City Folk in 2009. It was originally called “Mayor’s flag,” but Tortimer isn’t the mayor in New Leaf. So I just called it the “Tortimer flag.” I’ve also added it to the QR Codes page here at JVGS.

Of course, Today is Festivale! Confetti falls from the sky, and the animals dress up in silly hats when they go outside.

Big Top: When I woke up this morning, the sky was pouring confetti!
At least it wasn’t pouring melted cheese.

Boots: Let's whoop it up and get this little town hopping!

Pavé the gyrating peacock can be found at the event plaza, shaking his tail feathers. Viva Festivale, everyone!

Pave: VIVA...FESTIVALE!

Among the confetti falling from the sky, you will also find feathers. When you find three feathers matching Pavé’s requested color, you can exchange them for a piece of Pavé furniture.

Pave: You did good for Pave. Pave thanks you and gives you this Pave lamp!

The villagers will sometimes play games with you to win or trade feathers. But I just hunted around town the catch the ones floating in the air.

Agent S was inside her house, and I was starting to fear she was going to party too hard. 😛

Agent S: It's the one day when I can dance like a complete fool and no one will blink an eye, if I die!

Since I was spending a lot of time outside, I encountered a few balloon presents. I shot this one down right behind Pavé.

I continued catching feathers, and I played until I had acquire five pieces of the Pavé set: I got the floor, chest, closet, and two lamps.

Pave: You did good for Pave. Pave thanks you and gives you this Pave closet!

If you played during Festivale, I hope you had a good time and got all the furniture you wanted!

Aurora: Today's the celebration of dance and music called Festivale! Don't be shy! Just dance and have fun!

Three at Last

Last Sunday night, Aurora approached me and told me she thought I could use a bear costume. Why do I need that? Does she think I’m ugly as I am? I can’t bear the thought.

Aurora: Um, J-guy. I hope this isn't presumptuous, but I think you could use a bear costume.
Thanks, honey.

On Wednesday, Hornsby’s eyes lit up when he saw a bathroom stall for sale at Re-Tail. I told him to go ahead and buy it…although I can’t help but feel bad for the stall itself, knowing what Hornsby is going to end up doing to it. 😛

Hornsby: The second I laid eyes on the bathroom stall, I was sold!

Stitches was camping in the igloo, so I said hello. Even though I didn’t invite him to move into town, it was tempting.

Yesterday, Hornsby asked me for some furniture. The only thing I had on hand was the Resetti model from Groundhog Day. I handed it over, and he thanked me by giving me a satellite.

Hornsby: Nice! I had my eye on a Resetti model just like this one.

Today, the fishing tournament was underway. I caught one fish–a 14.30 inch dace, and I gave it to Chip. He informed me that the dace put me in third place.

Chip: Woo! That puts you in third place! Nyuk nyuk nyuk!

I saw on Tumblr that Breezy was looking for a cream sofa, and I had one to give her. So I invited her over to pick it up, and she gave me some perfect fruit in return.

Breezy arrives in Forest.

You may remember I made a Dream Suite Adventure of Breezy’s previous town Avenir. I also use her Mii on my Tomodachi Life island.

Since this was her first visit to Forest, I gave her a quick tour. I showed her my house, and she seemed to enjoy my rooms…especially the frog room.

Breezy: Frogs are my fav animal.

She hadn’t seen the Splatoon items in New Leaf, so I let her visit Inkwell’s RV and she ordered a few things. Meanwhile, Inkwell told me a tall tale about towing his van across the mountains with his teeth.

Inkwell: I towed this van across the mountains using my teeth. Ha! Splat!
Booyah!

We walked around town, and she also checked out Booker’s house. It actually had some roaches inside…oops! Booker should play more often, uh, I guess…

She went over to the face-cutout standee, and…well, I think you know what happened. 😀

Breezy struggles to get out of a pitfall behind my face-cutout standee.

She was an angry inkling after that, haha. But she seemed to enjoy my town overall. Enjoy the cream sofa, Breezy! And thanks for the visit, and the fruit!

After she left, I went inside of Chip’s tent to check out the fishing tournament winners’ ceremony. As I had hoped, I remained in third place!

Chip: J
Woo! I’m #3!

Aurora was the big winner, and Molly got 2nd place. But I was just happy to finally get my bronze fish trophy.

I took it up to my trophy room at the museum. I now have all three fishing trophies. Although, I now realize that I only have the gold Bug-Off trophy. So I’ll still need to get silver and bronze to complete my bug trophy collection.
