Bye Bye Bones

On Christmas Day, I got a letter in the mail from Jingle. He sent me his picture, which was my reward for not messing anything up on Toy Day.

Today, Boots asked me to make a delivery to Aurora, who was standing just a few feet away.

Boots: OK, so I'll need you to take care of this today, all right? Ha ha! It's like ready...set...go!

So I turned around and handed the package to Aurora. She said it smelled kind of sweaty!

Aurora: Is it me, or does it smell kind of sweaty?

She then gave me a stripe closet for my trouble.

It was snowing in town tonight, and Big Top was loving it. He said it was like the whole town was inside of a snow globe…up his nose. Well, it sounded like a nice sentiment until he added that last part. 😛

Big Top: This weather's great, boss. It's like Forest is inside a snow globe, up my nose!

He asked me to catch a centipede for him, and I agreed to help him out. However, I couldn’t track one down despite making about ten trips around town! I found lots of pill bugs while banging rocks, but not a single centipede.

Today was the last day in town for Bones the dog, so I made sure to say goodbye to him. Maybe we’ll meet again in another game someday.

Bones: I was packing up my comics, and I started reading... And that's why I'm so behind on packing!

My recent dream visitors have been Ken from Shigan and Vincent from Mullfing. Thanks for stopping by, and have a happy new year, everyone!

Toy Day – No Shoes Required

Christmas Eve, known as Toy Day in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, is here! I met up with Jingle the black-nosed reindeer in my town this evening.

Jingle: I'm going to sneak into everyone's houses and leave them presents! Don't tell anyone! Um, I know...

Jingle reminded me of something that I had forgotten about…I need a Santa outfit! So I went up to Able Sisters and bought the Santa coat, hat, pants, and beard.

Labelle: The Santa beard? Yeah, I think that's a fantastic choice for you!

I then went next door to buy the Santa boots, but I was shocked to see that Kicks was closed already! It was only about 8:20 p.m., and I didn’t realize it closed so insanely early!

Kicks Shoe Shop: Open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

I returned to Jingle, and I was very relieved when he let it slide. Whew!

Jingle: Your shoes are kind of different, but... Oh well, I guess normal people wouldn't even notice!

Jingle gave me the Santa bag, which had all of my villagers’ presents inside. I started with Rolf; he wanted a brown instrument, so I knew the folk guitar was for him.

Rolf: Oh, Santa! I can't believe you're here today! Gimme a present!

Agent S got the astro wall, and I continued making delivers to all my villagers.

Agent S: I must've been SUCH a good squirrel this year!

Here is the full list of what I gave all of my villagers:

  • Agent S: orange wallpaper = astro wall
  • Aurora: yellow toy = bingo wheel
  • Big Top: orange furniture = grapefruit table
  • Bones: gray household appliance = TV with a VCR
  • Boots: black furniture = weight bench
  • Hornsby: pink umbrella = candy umbrella
  • Lolly: orange clothing = orange jacket
  • Molly: orange home appliance = deluxe washer
  • Rolf: brown instrument = folk guitar
  • Vivian: gray outfit = gray tank

I returned to Jingle, and he confirmed that I made all of the deliveries correctly. It made him the happiest reindeer in the world.

Jingle: Mmm. Seeing smiles on every face in town makes me the happiest little reindeer in the world!

He gave me a festive wreath for helping out, and I hung it up in my house.

Jeff hangs up the festive wreath from Jingle in his house.

My recent dream visitors were Rach from Duckston and Yoshi from Yoshi. Thanks for stopping by, and have a Merry Christmas and happy holidays, everyone! 🙂

Winter Solstice 2018

Yesterday, Boots asked me to go fetch Big Top for him. So I did. Big Top wondered if Boots was mad for some reason, but it turns out Boots was just trying to make Big Top do some exercise!

Boots, to Big Top: Heh heh! Actually, I've just been noticing you're looking a little wimpier than usual lately.
Boots, to Big Top: So I had you walk over here to get some much-needed exercise!

As you might expect, Big Top was not happy about that.

Big Top, to Boots: What?! You tricked me?

Big Top stormed out of the house, and Boots gave me a compass for my trouble.

Today (December 21st) is the winter solstice, and the sun doesn’t come up at all. It’s dark from morning to night.

Dark sky at 5 p.m. in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

Isabelle was standing at the event plaza, freezing her butt off. 😛

Isabelle, shivering: Hello, Mayor! Today is the Winter Solstice! It's so chilly today!

She gave me a glow wand for the special occasion. In theory, the glow wand would help me see as I made my way around town in the dark. But it actually does no such thing; it just looks pretty.

Jeff holds a glow wand.

Near Isabelle, there is a face-cutout standee for the winter solstice. I stuck my face through it for a picture.

I’ve been continuing to collect Toy Day hints, and I’ve now finished up my list! Here’s what everyone in Forest wants for Toy Day:

  • Agent S: orange wallpaper
  • Aurora: yellow toy
  • Big Top: orange furniture
  • Bones: gray household appliance
  • Boots: black furniture
  • Hornsby: pink umbrella
  • Lolly: orange clothing
  • Molly: orange home appliance
  • Rolf: brown instrument
  • Vivian: gray outfit

Vivian asked me to catch an ocean fish for her, so I went down to the ocean. The first fish I caught was a red snapper! That’s a relatively valuable fish to give to a villager, but I did it anyway to be nice. And Vivian repaid my kindness by giving me…a potty. Great.

Vivian: It's a potty.

When I spoke to Bones, he informed me that he’ll be moving out of town on December 29th. I’m letting him go. He’s been a good dog, but I’d prefer having villagers that stay up later at night.

Bones: Oh, cool guy! Don't freak out, but I'm planning on moving away on the 29th of this month.

My recent dream visitors have been Natalie from Florence, Kody from Booville, Max from Greenvil, and Luciana from Valencia. Thanks for stopping by! I’ll probably be back with another blog entry on Christmas Eve. Happy holidays, everyone!
