Aurora’s Birthday 2021

I played one night recently, and wished on some shooting stars. Today, I received a letter from Wishy the shooting star, and he sent me a rococo dresser.

Today (January 27th) is Aurora’s birthday, so I made sure to attend her party. I gave her the rococo dresser as her birthday present. She was polite about it, but I could tell it wasn’t exactly her favorite.

Aurora: I'm so happy about my cake and my presents. I'll be writing all about today in my diary!

Big Top was also there to help Aurora celebrate.

Big Top: Today's a day for celebrating Aurora!

For the first time since Claudia moved out, I saw a camper at the campsite (in an igloo, of course). So I had the chance to ask someone to move in…but I did not take advantage of that fact once I saw who the camper was: Kitty!

Kitty: Hey there. You're from this town, right?
Uh, no, not me…

I’m not a big fan of Kitty. And I recently just got rid of her in my ACCF town after a way-too-long stay of nearly four years. So there’s no way I’d ask her to move into New Leaf Forest.

The penguin celebrating a birthday wasn’t in the only aurora in town. The northern lights are always pretty to see, and they look good shining above an igloo.

And just a bit of (possibly surprising) trivia for you. Of the five core Animal Crossing games, New Leaf is the only one that has both igloos and northern lights. (GameCube has igloos, but no northern lights. Wild World has neither. City Folk and New Horizons have northern lights, but no igloos.)

According to Luna, my recent dream visitors include Lonnie from Concord, Benjamin from Sorna, Nohra from Forgot, and Hudson from Quahog. Thanks for stopping by!

Zodiac Ox for 2021

It’s New Year’s Day, and that means that Isabelle can be found standing out at the event plaza. She hands out gifts for the occasion, and this year’s item is a zodiac ox.

Isabelle: This year, I feel like it's time to give oxen their due, so I've got some cute ox decorations to give out.
Nothing says ‘cute’ like an ox.

There was also a face-cutout standee for the holiday. Look, I’m recklessly playing with fireworks! Yay!

Jeff uses the faceboard for New Year's Day.

I took the zodiac ox back to my house, replacing the zodiac rat of 2020.

All of my villagers wished me a happy new year. Let’s hope it’s better for all of us!

Molly: Happy New Year! May the new year treat you well, cupcake!

As night fell, the northern lights started appearing in the sky over Forest.

Inkwell vowed to be hugely successful in 2021.

Inkwell: So 2021 is the year I'll be hugely successful! I won't let you down!

Maybe he could bring us a new Splatoon game? At first I thought maybe it’s too soon for another Splatoon game, but then I realized it’s not. There were only two years between Splatoon 1 and 2, and 2021 would make four years since Splatoon 2 came out! But I’m not getting my hopes up anyway. 😛

Boots asked me to catch a carp for him, and I agreed to help out. It took me five or six minutes, but I caught one for him. However, I had trouble finding Boots around town. It turned out that he went on to bed! He didn’t give me much of a chance to catch the fish first! 😮

I'm in a deep sleep... Come wake me up later! -Boots

According to Luna, my recent dream visitors included Aaron from Pac-Land and Zeb from Corvalis. Thanks for stopping by, and Happy New Year, everyone! 🙂

Rolf: HAPPY STINKIN' NEW YEAR!
