Fleas and Phrases

If you’ve been reading my other blogs lately, you likely know that I’ve been trying to replace many of my old, stale catchphrases. That has continued with New Leaf as well; Lolly asked me for a new one on Wednesday, and I told her to say “if I poop.” 💩

Lolly: If I poop? It's perfect! Thank you so much! You can expect me to say if I poop a LOT!

Cube sent me this letter in the mail, along with a gift:

Jeff…

SURPRISE! I got you a gift! When I saw this, it reminded me of you somehow… Maybe you were one of these in a past life? I’m sure you were a really good one!

-Your friend, Cube

So I open up the gift and find an orange cone inside! Excuse me? That’s an odd thing to say, but Cube does think outside the box. 😉 Maybe it’s his way of saying I stop traffic? I don’t know, maybe Cube should stay in his lane. 😛

On Thursday, I found Bettina the mouse camping over at the campsite. So I stopped in to say hello.

Bettina: I enjoy company, so please come visit me anytime!
I’m taking a photo, so say cheese!

Thursday, Hornsby asked me for a new catchphrase. I told him to say “I ate it.”

Hornsby: So I ate it should be my new, awesome catchphrase?

He later told me he was using a shampoo that made him smell like cheesecake…and his catchphrase made it sound like he ate the shampoo. 😉

Hornsby: It makes me smell super good, I ate it!

And speaking of cheese, Lolly sent me a cheese wall in the mail today. It didn’t take long for Mira to ask me about it…as we spoke between two houses.

Mira: Hey! I'm curious about an item. Ready? Cheese wall. You got a line on anything like that?
Hornsby pinged me, but he lost interest before I finished chatting with Mira.

Mira wanted to trade a royal shirt for my cheese wall, and I agreed to the exchange.

Jeremiah invited me over to his house, so we hopped over to his pad. Of course, there wasn’t much to do in there after speaking a few times. So I just sat on his sofa and waited it out. 😛 He eventually let me buy something, and he offered me his trash bin for 230 bells. I was an offer I couldn’t refuse.

Jeremiah: So my trash bin catches your eye, huh? I think it's a great example of refined taste.
Refined taste or refined trash?

When I got back outside, I found a four-leaf clover on the ground. I don’t feel particularly lucky, though.

I found a four-leaf clover! I wonder if that makes me lucky?

Forest must have a flea infestation lately: Mira, Rolf, and Hornsby all had fleas on them today!

I caught a flea! Oh no, now I'm itchy! 3.4mm
Hornsby: I feel tons better now! Thanks, I ate it!
The flea bit Hornsby, and Hornsby bit back.

I worked a shift at the Roost for the first time in a long time. I served coffee to Hornsby, my former villager Skye, Rolf, and Phineas.

Skye: Oh, that's just delicious! I'm going to tell all my friends about the cafe in Forest with amazing coffee.

I earned some superb coffee beans, even though one of the orders wasn’t perfect (sorry, Hornsby).

Brewster: ...Excellent work. Today I'll pay you in superb coffee beans. These are the highest quality beans I stock.

Perfect peaches were today’s bonus item at Re-Tail, so I gathered up a few baskets and I also grabbed a few baskets from storage.
