Two Campers, Three Cheers

Last Sunday, I made the mistake of leaving an empty spot in my mail slots. That opened the door for Molly to ask me to bury a time capsule for her.

Molly: So do you think you could bury it for me? Please?

I buried it, and now I’ll have to wait (probably a few weeks) for her to ask for it back.

Chevre the goat was camping over at the campsite, so I stopped in to say hello. She’s a cutie. 🙂

Chevre: Hello. I hope it's all right that I've decided to camp here. You have a lovely town.

Down on the beach, I spotted a balloon present flying overhead. I shot it down and found a tumbleweed inside. It must have blown in from far away…maybe even from Saharah’s desert. 😉

Shooting down a balloon present in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

Moments later, Jeremiah sniffed it out while it was still in my pockets!

Jeremiah: I smell a tumbleweed. It's yours, isn't it?

He wanted to trade his six-ball tee for it, which isn’t the best deal (for me). But I agreed to the trade anyway, just to be nice.

The next day, I had another camper: Ricky the squirrel. I’ve never been a fan of him; his features make him look angry most of the time.

Ricky camps at the New Leaf campsite.

On Tuesday, Inkwell told me he smashed a rock into a “jillion” pieces. He’s now afraid of his own strength. 😛

Inkwell: I'm starting to become afraid of my own strength... Seriously, bro.

I found Gulliver down on the beach. He told me about a place that was green everywhere you look…so much that it’s called the Emerald Isle. Clearly, that was Ireland.

Gulliver: It's to the point they sometimes call this place the Emerald Isle.

Today, I received Gulliver’s gift from Ireland. He sent me a shamrock clock.

Lolly asked me for a piece of fruit, and I gave her a perfect peach. She loved it, and she rewarded me with some potted ivy. She even did three cheers for our friendship, which might sound really nice. But the actual cheer wasn’t as pleasant as you’d think. 😛

Lolly: Three cheers for our friendship, J-guy! If I poop! If I poop! If I poop!
Um, do you know any other cheers?

Mira also had a request for me: She wanted a butterfly.

Mira: If you see a butterfly, can you catch it for me?

She said she wanted to study its flight to learn a trick or two about fighting! I caught a monarch butterfly for her, although I doubt that it’s going to teach her any new fighting techniques. 😛 Mira thanked me by giving me a scale-print tee.

Sauerkraut Festival?

On November 2nd, I received a red-tasseled lantern in the mail from Gulliver. It was a souvenir he sent me from China.

November is mushroom season, and there will be a piece of mush furniture hidden among them each day. You may also find a valuable rare mushroom buried in town for some easy bells.

Look! I dug up a rare mushroom!

Cube suggested having a sauerkraut festival… to celebrate sauerkraut. 😆

Cube: Here's an idea! We should have a sauerkraut festival to celebrate sauerkraut!

He said everyone would eat for free at the sauerkraut shop. But no Animal Crossing game to date actually has a sauerkraut shop. Nintendo needs to fix that oversight. 😆

On Monday (November 17th), Jeremiah told me that he’d like something to replace his red dragonfly. I went shopping at the Emporium, and I picked up a nice humidifier for him. Every frog needs one of these to stay moist year-round! 😉

Jeremiah: Oh! A humidifier!

He loved it, and he gave me some ranch flooring in return.

Yesterday, I went into Aurora’s house, and this is what I saw:

Aurora and Boots looking at me as I entered Aurora's house.

From the way they were standing and looking at me, I actually thought it was a birthday party for a moment. But Boots was just visiting Forest’s original penguin.

Boots: I'll eat you!! Are you gonna chill with Aurora too, in a swamp?

But Aurora came outside later on. She was getting lots of fresh air…but “not much.” 😆

Aurora: Hello again, J-guy. The weather was great today, huh? I got lots of fresh air, not much!

I ran into my other penguin in the art gallery at the museum. Cube said whoever donated all of this is his personal hero!

Cube: Amazing! This is a perfect collection! Whoever donated all of this is my personal hero!

How about giving your hero a photo of yourself then, hm? Actually, about that… I think I’ve made a decision: The next time he asks to leave, I’m going to let him go. I’m confident that he’ll send me his photo with his goodbye letter. After 4+ years, I refuse to believe that I haven’t done enough to earn it by now. I think I’ve just been unlucky.

Today, I played a bit in the morning. Molly said the morning sunshine makes her want to dance, in a pond. Aww, she’s so cute. 🙂

Molly: Hi, Mr. J! Sunny mornings just make me want to dance, in a pond.

Boots was standing nearby, and he asked me for a peach. I gave him a perfect peach, and he gave me a deluxe washer. I regifted that deluxe washer to Mira when she asked me for furniture. In return, she gave me another copy of Mira’s pic.

Mira: Heh heh... I hope you like your new Mira's pic! Thanks for your help, I hopped!

Mira has now given me her photo three times in two years, which makes Cube’s four-year total of zero look even worse. Oof.

Speaking of Cube, I had a chat with him in the southwest park today. First, he asked for a new catchphrase. I told him to say “cubicle.” He then told me about his missing cotton swab.

Cube: I can't find my cotton swab anywhere.

He figured that it must’ve been eaten by a nefarious monster.

Cube: This must be the work of some nefarious cotton swab-eating monster, cubicle!

Yeah, I hate when monsters eat my cotton swabs. It’s so ear-ritating. 👂
