Water Items?

On January 14th, I returned a lost item to Inkwell. He said it was his magic workout dust!

Inkwell: Oh, man. My magic workout dust! I need to be more careful...

He rewarded me with a washing machine, but I don’t like the way he told me I could use one. 😛

Inkwell: Something tells me you could use a nice washing machine.

On Monday (January 26th), I found Moe camping over at the campsite.

Moe: Yep yep. Looks like I made a really good choice!

As cute as he is (at least when his eyes are closed), I did not invite him to move in. But it was nice to see him!

On Tuesday, the entrance to the Reset Center was open, so I dropped in for a visit. But Resetti wasn’t home, so I just chatted with Don instead. However, he didn’t have much to say.

Don: I wish you luck in all you do.

It was Aurora’s birthday, so I made sure to attend her party. I gave her a sparrow’s nest that I bought from Harvey at the drive-in campground.

Aurora: Oh, a sparrow's nest! I don't normally buy things like this for myself, so it's a lovely gift.

As you can see, Rolf was also at the party. Happy birthday, Aurora!

On Wednesday, Molly asked me for some perfect fruit. I gave her a perfect peach, and she loved it. She thanked me by giving me a bathroom sink.

Molly: Here. What do you think about my bathroom sink? I hope you like it!

Tonight, I delivered a watering trough to Lolly that she left at someone’s house.

Lolly: Oh, my watering trough! I was positive that I'd lost this!

It seems like all of these favors this month have involved an item that uses (or contains) water! The washing machine, the bathroom sink, and now a watering trough. I guess it’s a sink or swim situation. 😛 Anyway, Lolly rewarded me with a captain’s jacket. And fortunately, it was completely dry.

It was snowing tonight, and my pockets were starting to fill up with six snowflakes that I caught. So I figured I had better look for today’s snowballs and roll up a Snowmam. I did, and she was perfect!

Snowmam: Bless my snowflakes! Are you the one who made me?

I traded in the six snowflakes for an ice wall and an ice side table. ❄️❄️ Ice is frozen water, so does that fit the water theme too? Or should I table this discussion already? 😉

Bringing in 2026

Wednesday was New Year’s Eve, and my villagers were talking about the countdown.

Aurora: Tonight is New Year's Eve! It's the last day we'll see each other before the new year begins.

I noticed that the northern lights were visible in the skies above Forest, so I stopped to take a photo or two.

Over at the plaza, Isabelle was handing out some sparkling cider, and I bought a blue New Year’s hat from Crazy Redd.

Three hours remained on the countdown timer.

At midnight, we counted down the final few seconds and welcomed 2026.

Rolf, Isabelle, Jeff, and Redd bring in the new year 2026.

It’s kind of funny that Rolf is always the villager in these photos. It’s the third year in a row I’ve posted New Year’s Eve pictures, and Rolf is in all three! (Want to see the 2024 and 2025 entries?)

Here is the obligatory “2026” fireworks photo:

On New Year’s Day, my villagers continued to wish me a Happy New Year.

Aurora: Happy New Year! May the new year treat you well, J-guy!
Rolf: HAPPY STINKIN' NEW YEAR!

And Isabelle was again at the event plaza, this time to hand out zodiac horses.

Isabelle: That's why I've decided to give out some special horse decorations this year to thank them.

This is the first duplicate zodiac animal given out…unless you were playing the Japanese version prior to the worldwide release, or if you time traveled and got it.

My zodiac animal collection, now with two horses.
It’s still amazing.

I also stuck my face through the face-cutout standee for the occasion.

I rolled up a couple snowballs to make a snowmam, and I gave her some snowflakes I had in my pockets. She gave me an ice vanity in return.

Snowmam: This balance... I'm perfect!

I played again today, and I had an igloo camper at the campsite. But it was Pietro the evil clown, so I had zero interest in asking him to move in. 😛

Pietro, at the igloo campsite: I-I'm not a suspicious character at all! I'm just Pietro!

I found a lost book on the ground, and I returned it to its owner, Mira. At first, she said it was a dermatology handbook…

Mira: Oh! My quarterly dermatological-statistics-analysis handbook!

But then she said she was joking, and that it was just a big comic book. Those would be two books that would be hard to mix up, I imagine. 😛

Mira: Kidding! It's a big comic book, yo! Thanks for finding it for me!

She gave me a green-bar shirt for returning the book to her.

I wrapped up my night with a K.K. Slider performance of “K.K. Song.” Hamlet and Rodeo were also in attendance.

Happy New Year, everyone! I’ll be back with another entry later in the month.
