February Thaw

The snow of winter melted this week, and my ice brick paths stuck out like a sore thumb.

So I went to Able Sisters right away yesterday and changed it back to green bricks. Mabel looked a bit different, though. 😉

Back in town, I found a lost item (a bag, to be specific).

I picked up a lost item!

I returned it to Molly, who said something really important was inside…but she didn’t say what it was. She rewarded me with a mango.

Molly: In terms of a reward, this is all I have on me right now. I hope you like my mango!

When I put some bells into my savings account, my balance reached 138 million bells.

Your current balance is 138,000,000 bells.

Tonight, Molly asked me for a piece of fruit. I gave her a perfect peach, and she was overflowing with appreciation.

Molly, standing next to an erupting geyser: Mmmm. So goood! It doesn't get much better than that!

She gave me a display shelf to thank me for the amazing piece of fruit.

Saharah was in town, and I paid her 3,000 bells to redecorate my house (or at least my main room).

Saharah: I have many wallpapers for the papering of walls. Many carpets for the petting of cars.

She installed a skyscraper wall and a music-room floor.

I went over to Club LOL to check out K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show, and I saw my former villagers Daisy and Hamlet in there. (FYI, both of them moved out of Forest in 2016!) I asked K.K. for a random song, and he performed “My Place” for the three of us. Good song!

Resetti Crumble

Last Thursday, the Reset Center entrance was open once again. I dropped in for another visit, and they had the voice-recognition system set up. Resetti warned me not to press the button and say “Scramble!” He also warned that I should probably avoid saying “Crumble” as well.

Resetti: Crumble! is another word ya should probably avoid too!

But I wanted to test it out (of course), so I went up to it and said “Crumble!” That set the test in motion, and Resetti wanted to reset. 😆

Resetti: Um, um, um, reset! Reset!
Sorry, not sorry.
That’s the way the cookie crumbles. 🍪

He launched away, yelling about his…girdle? Too much information there, Sonny.

Resetti: My girdle!

Back up on the surface, I resumed my walk around town and noticed the northern lights up in the sky. Here they are above Lolly’s house. They’re pretty!

On Saturday night, I checked out the fishing tourney results on the bulletin board. Congrats to Rolf on the win!

~Fishing Tourney Results~ Winner: Rolf. Second: Inkwell. Third: Jeremiah. Great work, everyone!

Boots didn’t rank in the top-three, but he dreamed that he was on the winner’s podium anyway. 😆

Boots: What?! Cleats! This isn't the winner's podium?
Boots: Oh, man! That was a dream?! I was so close to getting a gold medal...

The next day, Rolf gave me a free golf bag. That was nice of him, but it’s not that unusual to get a gift from him…in fact, it’s par for the course. ⛳

Rolf: But just shut up and take my golf bag!

I didn’t play on Monday, so I didn’t participate in Festivale this year. At least, not in New Leaf. But if any of you participated, I’d love to hear how it went in the comments! 🦚

Today, I was stacking my bags of bells after finding the money rock when I heard someone fall into a pitfall! It was the pitfall behind the Splatoon face-cutout standee, and it was Lolly that fell into it! Aww, poor Lolly! 😟

Lolly: Ugh... I'm not in the mood to talk, if I poop. Please just let me mope for a while.

Hornsby asked me for a pear, so I tracked one down for him. After he ate it, he used his catchphrase in a very logical way. He said the pear was so tasty, he ate it! 😛

Hornsby: Oh, yeah! Just what I wanted! That was so tasty, I ate it!
But how did you know it was tasty until you ate it?

He rewarded me with a pastel-dot rug. A bit later, Aurora gave me a blue dot parasol. I’m not saying those two gifts are related, but it’s not hard to connect the dots. 😉

Aurora: Um, J-guy. I hope this isn't presumptuous, but I think you could use a blue dot parasol.

Inkwell asked me for some new furniture, so I bought him a wooden bucket from Harv at the campground. Inkwell loved it, and he rewarded me with a cabin wardrobe.

Inkwell: Oh! A wooden bucket! This is so great, bro!
