Fruits Giving

On Sunday, I found Boots in the “green room” at the aquarium. He threatened to eat me, after being inspired by fish. Probably the piranha. 😉

Boots: I'll eat you!! I come here to get inspired by the fish... Don't you, at Nook's?

Hornsby asked me to deliver an item to Lolly (an eight-ball tee that she left at his house), and she thanked me by giving me an orange. 🟠

Lolly: It's an orange! It'll be a nice little snack for later!

When I returned to Hornsby, he was already asleep for the night. So I couldn’t tell him the job was done! But I guess it doesn’t matter much, since it’s the recipient (Lolly, in this case) who gives the reward in this game.

When I played tonight, I found M&M hanging out together. Molly was visiting Mira’s house…or is it her spaceship?

When I visited Boots, he was talking about his lullaboid. It looked like it was making him sleepy!

Boots: That tone... It just draws you into a world of mystery, doesn't it?

I found a lost item on the ground near the plaza, and it led me back to Boots’s house. He said it was his bag, but it was missing some of the sand that was inside. He thinks someone must’ve grabbed a handful of it and ran off. I’m not sure why they couldn’t just go down to the beach if they wanted some sand. Boots rewarded me with a pear. I guess my villagers are in a fruit-giving mood lately. 🍐

Boots: Take my pear. A little thank-you from me to you.

Hornsby wanted to replace his evening cicada with something else, so I caught a cricket for him. He seemed to be happy with it, but it quickly met its fate!

Hornsby: My new cricket will really liven up my place. A huh huh, I ate it!
Hornsby, NO!

Nah, that was just his catchphrase. But he didn’t reward me with fruit…instead, he gave me the evening cicada that he was replacing. Oh joy.

Hornsby: Well, I don't need my evening cicada anymore, so take it as my way of saying thanks!

Do you know what I did with it? A huh huh, I ate it! 😋

House Swap?

Last night, Mira asked me to bring her a piece of fresh fruit.

Mira: Awesome! You're the greatest! I'll be waiting! At Nook's!

I gave her a perfect peach, and she rewarded me with an office desk. Outside of the context of Animal Crossing, the idea of trading a piece of fruit for an office desk sounds so ridiculous. 😆

Over at the campsite, Phoebe the phoenix ostrich was camping. Her outfit was fire, and she seems pretty cool. But of course, my town is full.

Phoebe: I'm Phoebe! And you're... Jeff? Nice to meet you!

With some help from my monthly bank account interest, my savings balance has reached 140 million bells.

I played again tonight, and Rolf wanted to play a game of hide-and-seek. He said it’s an intellectual game where we try to read each other’s minds. I’m not quite sure that’s an accurate description, but sure, I’ll play!

Rolf: It's a very intellectual game where the it and those hiding try to read each other's minds!

He gave me ten minutes to find him, Jeremiah, and Hornsby. Within two minutes, I had found two of them, but the interesting part is where they hid. Jeremiah was hiding behind Rolf’s house…

Jeremiah: No! How'd you find me?! I was in super-stealth mode and everything!

And then Rolf returned the favor, hiding behind Jeremiah’s house! It’s like they swapped houses for the game! 😆

I later found Hornsby behind a tree near the Roost to secure my victory.

Rolf: So it looks like the winner of this game is muscles!

Rolf gave me my prize: A new TV with VCR. What, was a rotary phone not available? 😆

Rolf: Here. My TV with VCR is your reward! A good reward is the best way to remember victory!
In that case, I’ve already forgotten it.

When I walked up to the city, several of my former villagers were hanging out near the entrance. That included Daisy, Bob, Julian, and Lily. 😊

Daisy: I love how alive this part of town is!
