Aurora’s Birthday

Yesterday, I got a letter in the mail from Nintendo. It congratulated me on completing the beginner levels in Desert Island Escape.

To Jeff, Woohoo! You cleared every last beginner level of Desert Island Escape! What does that mean? You've won a Wii U station! -From NintendoMy reward was a Wii U station. It’s like a kiosk that you might find in a game shop. Pretty cool.

The Wii U station on display in my house. I got it in a letter from Nintendo for completing the beginner stages of Desert Island Escape.Outside, Camofrog asked me for some perfect fruit. But Saharah was standing nearby, and it almost looked as if Camofrog’s head was peeking out of Saharah’s sack!

Camofrog, standing behind Saharah: Hey, Jeff! Could you find me a perfect fruit? Oh, and to be clear, any kind would be fine, OK?!I gave him a perfect orange, and he wolfed it down so fast that he nearly croaked choked to death.

Camofrog: ...Urk! HACK HACK COUGH! I got so excited, I swallowed some the wrong way!Once he caught his breath, he gave me an imperial wall to thank me.

Today is Aurora’s birthday, so I made sure to attend her birthday party. Lily was also there to celebrate.

Aurora, at her birthday party: I'm so happy to spend my birthday with my friends. For her birthday present, I gave her a modern hospital bed that I picked up at the campground earlier. It reminded me of the time when Aurora had a hospital TV in her house. If you don’t remember, I was visiting her one time and I heard a cat meowing in her house! I didn’t see a TV in her house at first, until I realized it was up on the wall. ๐Ÿ˜›

Aurora enjoyed the present, and as Lily agreed, she seemed to be having a great time. Happy birthday, Aurora!

Lily, at Aurora's birthday party: Aurora seems to be having a great time! I think we can call this a successful birthday party.Once I left the party, I met up with Pashmina outside. She said Molly’s house was in a great spot, and she wondered how Molly found it. Uh, actually she brought the house with her when she moved in. Just like everybody else. ๐Ÿ˜›

Pashmina: Molly's house is in a really nice spot! How'd she find it?Later on tonight, I spotted Rolf chilling out on the town’s metal bench. Why do my villagers seem to use this bench more in winter, when it’s freezing outside? And it being metal is only going to make it feel even colder.

Rolf, sitting on a bench: Brrrrrr... Who decided that winter needed to be so cold...?

My recent dream visitors have been Derrick from Pie, Sam from Yavin 4, and Aya from Loamholm. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

Bob’s Catnap

The January fishing tournament was held this past weekend. Even though I didn’t participate, I did attend the winners’ ceremony. Bob was the big winner, while Agent S got 2nd place and Big Top finished in 3rd.

Bob stands atop the winners podium for the fishing tournament. Agent S finished in 2nd place, and Big Top was 3rd.

Able Sisters had a blue flannel shirt on sale, so I decided to buy it and wear it for a while.

Mabel: The basic vibe of the blue flannel shirt is nice, right?Lily needed some assistance with a cherry, so I gladly gave her what she wanted.

Lily: I'd been wanting that for so long! And it was as good as I'd hoped! She was quite satisfied, and she rewarded me with a saddle fence.

I found Bob taking a catnap while sitting on the metal bench in town. I let the little guy sleep, but I still joined him on the bench for a moment.

Your current balance is 89,000,000 bells.

I played some more Desert Island Escape tonight, and I tried out a new trio of islanders: Maddie, Molly, and Lily. (My usual group is Goldie, Stitches, and Rosie). Maddie is a dog like Goldie, so she had the same “sniff ’em out” ability that I can’t do without. Molly is “soft-footed,” which helps her to evade fights and get away safely, while Lily is a swimmer that can move farther through shallow water (but not far on land).

A successful million in Desert Island Escape, as Maddie, Molly, and Lily escape to freedom on a raft.

I completed level 10 with this group, but I think I’ll go back to my usual trio next time. Anyway, I have now completed all of the beginner maps. I’ll move on to the intermediate levels the next time I play.

My recent dream visitors have been Karen from Pactopia, Gonzalo from Orlรฉans, Henry from H Town 3, Alex from Fourside, Memeowfu from Catnip, and Cloud from Lorulia. Thanks for stopping by!

Taking My Frogs to the Park

I took my New Leaf villagers to the park recently, and my frogs felt right at home near the water.

Are they on a date? I’m not sure.

Yesterday, Jingle’s RV was over at the drive-in campground, so I went inside to check it out. Not surprisingly, he has some festive decorations, including some Christmas presents that haven’t been opened yet! How about giving me an NES Classic, Jingle?

Inside of Jingle's RV at the campground.Up at the Dream Suite, I got some beastly news from Luna: A total of 666 people have visited my dream town (since the update).

Luna: Records state the number of clients who have experienced a dream about Forest is 666.

My recent dream visitors have been Bella from Loveland, Silver from Nintendo, and Lily from Tango.

Lily (the frog) asked me for some furniture, so I gave her an iron garden table that I bought at the campground. In return, she gave me her toilet.

Lily: Here's my toilet! Thank you so much for helping me!And today, Big Top asked me for some furniture to replace his ninja sword. I used the opportunity to dump off my newest asset: the toilet from Lily!

Big Top: Oh! A toilet! This is perfect! He loved it, and he gave me a coat hanger in return. You never see trades like this in real life.

Over by my tulip topiary in the southwest park, Bob just randomly gave me a satellite. How can he afford such a thing? The price must have been sky high!

Bob: Hey! I found the satellite you've been hunting for, Jeff.At the face-cutout standee, I put up the Harvey design that I got from Ninten the other day. I didn’t test it out by sticking my face through it though, and some of my regular visitors probably know why. ๐Ÿ˜›

A Harvey design on the face-cutout standee. In the Egyptian part of town, I finally decided to do away with the sand…at least for winter. I never thought it looked right with the snow. There’s already snow on the Sphinx and pyramid, so why shouldn’t there be snow on the ground too? So I kicked the sand away.

Kicking away sand near my sphinx.
Sorry, sand, if you thought I was never give you up and desert you.

I ended my night with a visit to the campground, where I watched the northern lights while sitting in front of the fire.

You can find where I’ve mentioned a certain event, villager, or item. Or search your name and/or town to see if I’ve mentioned you as one of my dream visitors before! Of if you’d like to search all of JVGS (not just this blog), I have a separate search box on the JVGS home page.
