Buried Alive

When I checked the bulletin board on Sunday, I saw the list of Bug-Off winners. Rolf won first place, Aurora got 2nd, and Julian finished in 3rd with 37 points. So my 5-point catch was nowhere near enough for third place anyway.

~ Bug-Off Results ~ The winner of the Bug-Off was Rolf, 56 points. 2nd: Aurora, 47 Pts. 3rd: Julian, 37 Pts.When I visited Beth’s town over the weekend, she tried to bury me alive! Look at that melonhead throwing dirt on me while I was stuck in a hole! What a dirty move!

Beth tries to bury me alive!Back in Forest, I went in Julian’s house to pay him a visit. I couldn’t help but notice he was proudly displaying my eel in his home!

My eel on display in Julian's house.Hamlet asked me for a new greeting to replace “on a bun.” I told him to say “in my ear” instead. He immediately advised me to look for gyroids in his ear! I wasn’t sure if I heard him right.

Hamlet: You should get yourself psyched up to look for gyroids, in my ear!
Thanks for the helpful Q-tip.

Today, Saharah was in town. I hired her to put in some new wallpaper and carpeting in my main room. She went with a sci-fi wall and kitchen flooring. Why have a kitchen with lots of counter space, when you can have a kitchen with lots of outer space?

A sci-fi wall and kitchen flooring.I found Biff the hippo at my campsite today. My town is full, but I wouldn’t have wanted him to move in anyway.

Biff: Camping is all about enjoying things some people consider inconvenient. Squirt.
Please don’t squirt me.

I saw a fairly large shadow in the pond today–well it may have been medium-sized, but it looked larger than what you normally see in the ponds. Out of curiosity, I fished it out…only to catch an old tire. I was wheely disappointed.

I caught an old tire! It was just treading water...
I’m tired of finding garbage in here.

That’s all I have for tonight. But every once in a while, I like to remind people where to find me on social media. My name is jvgsjeff on each site; I’m most active on Twitter, but you can also find me on Facebook, Tumblr, and Pinterest. And of course, I post gaming videos (mostly Splatoon and Animal Crossing) on Youtube.

For those who don’t know, this New Leaf blog is updated three times each week. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to see you again soon!

5-Point Bug-Off

Last night, Pashmina suggested a new public works project: a log bench. It’s probably not something I wood put in town, but it’s always nice to see my villagers branch out with new suggestions.

Pashmina: We totally need to fund the best log bench there is! It'd be quite the tourist attraction! It only costs 38,000 bells to install it. But then again, chopping down a tree is free. So I could always do that if I feel the need to sit down outdoors and get splinters in my butt.

Log bench: 38,000 bells.A bit later on, I started up the game again and saw a nearly-full moon near my house. I thought it looked pretty cool in that spot, so of course I took a picture.

A nearly full moon by my house.I went to visit Julian, and I found him sleeping standing up inside his house! Maybe that’s the only way he can get some rest without stabbing a hole in his pillow.

Julian sleeping standing up.And today, the Bug-Off competition was held. I didn’t have much time, but I gave Nat a mosquito that was in my pockets. Apparently it sucked, because it only earned me five points.

Nat: 5 points!I didn’t give him any more bugs. Still, I was going to return for the winners’ ceremony just to see if I got third place or something. But sadly, by the time I came back to the game, it was after 9:00–too late for the ceremony. Fail.

Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Sean from Oaklawn was my most recent dream visitor.

I wrapped up my night in Club LOL. I asked K.K. for a sad song, and he played “Only Me.” But he didn’t play it for only me, since Frank and Octavian were also in the club.

K.K.: Here's a jam that makes the blues seem like old news... Only Me.Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and I’ll see you next time!

Dreaming of Wintervl

Yesterday, Big Top told me he was looking for me…in a trunk! Sorry, but I escaped from that trunk you put me in, big guy.

Big Top: Oh, good! I've been looking for you, cool guy! In a trunk. He asked me for some furniture, and I gave him something I had in my pockets. He gave me his picture in return.

Today, not much was going on in town. So I went up to the Dream Suite and made a dream visit to Lisa’s town of Wintervl (5400-4789-9955). Update: the new dream address is 5B00-0010-964B. Despite the name of the town, it was not winter when I arrived.

Arriving in Wintervl. But it is a very pretty town, as you can see. There are some items on the ground that you can wear or equip. I grabbed a royal crown and a golden axe.

A geyser in Wintervl.

In Rose’s house, I found the throne room. So I took my seat as ruler…of a room in someone else’s house. In someone else’s town. In a dream. Hey, don’t reign on my parade. I’m the king!

King Jeff in the throne room.Wintervl has lots of PWPs and hybrid flowers all over town.

Flowers and PWPs, oh my!There are also perfect peach trees and money trees.

Enjoying the scenery in Wintervl. If you’re looking for a beautiful dream town to visit, I recommend Wintervl.

Enjoying a rest. For more dream towns to visit, check out Jeff’s Dream Suite Adventures.

When I woke up from my dream, Rolf asked me for a pear. I found one for him south of the event plaza and took it back to him. He enjoyed it, and he gave me an odd reward: Apparently he had a rocket in his pocket! How did he have space for that?

Rolf: OK then, you can go ahead and take my rocket here, so now we're even, tiger!
