It’s been brought to my attention that the leaves on trees changed color a few days ago. I wouldn’t have even noticed on my own. (Thanks for the heads-up, Beth). We only have about five more weeks of winter in the game!
Today, Pashmina informed me that Big Top was sick. She also asked me for a new catchphrase, so I told her to say “or you die.” Now everything she says sounds like a threat.
There was an igloo set up at the campsite, so I went inside to check it out. Shep the dog was inside. I wonder if he can even see his chowder with that fur hanging in his eyes.
Saharah was also in town today, and I hired her to do some interior decorating. She put in a lunar horizon wallpaper and a music-room floor. I love the lunar horizon, but I already have one in storage.
Rolf asked me to bury a time capsule for him, so I dug a hole in the northwest corner of town. Hopefully I’ll remember not to dig it back up right away.
I bought some medicine for Big Top (since I didn’t want Pashmina to murder me) and I took it to my favorite elephant’s house. Get well soon, big guy.

Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Yole from New Leaf was my most recent dream visitor. Thanks for stopping by!
Today, the January fishing tournament was held. Chip told me it was all about the bass (no treble).
I caught a sea bass and took it back to Chip; it measured 41.15 inches. But that was shorter than Aurora’s current record of 44.5 inches.
So I returned to the ocean, where I fished. And fished. And fished. I caught quite a few sea bass, but none were as large as Aurora’s big bass. The good news is that I also caught some tuna and football fish that I ended up selling. After putting some money into the bank, my account balance topped 59 million bells.
Dizzy came out of nowhere to win the tournament, while Aurora got second place and Daisy got third place. A lot of times, I’ll barely try (catching only a couple of fish) and I’ll win. This time, I spent 30-45 minutes fishing and still failed. Haha, I guess it just wasn’t my day. 😛
Today was Velma’s birthday, so I paid her a visit. Not surprisingly, Forest’s other goat Pashmina was there too. Velma wasted no time in asking me for a present.
I gave her a lovely kitchen that had been customized in pink and black. She didn’t seem thrilled with it, but she said it’s the thought that counts. I tried to be a good sport and I enjoyed the moment.
When I was done, I headed to the door. On my way out, Velma tried to tell me that she loved the gift I gave her. She was obviously lying.
I’ve had a little routine going lately that helps me inch towards some badges that I still need to earn. I buy some paper, write some letters with it, catch a few fish, catch a few bugs, and catch a few sea creatures while diving. After doing it today, I headed up to Re-Tail to sell my catches. And right there, I found Phineas! I wasn’t sure which badge to expect, but my first new badge of 2016 turned out to be the Letter Author badge for writing lots of letters.
