Tokonoma (Nintendo Zone DLC)

Today, Big Top told me he was planning on moving out of town on May 30th. But I made him reconsider.

Big Top: Hmm... Then it's settled! The move is off, and I'm staying put!Saharah was in town, and I paid her for some new wallpaper and carpet. She put in a blue-trim wall and a cheese floor.

A blue-trim wall and cheese floor. There was a tent over at the campsite, and I found Pippy inside. I had no interest in inviting her to move in.

Pippy: I bet you weren't expecting to see super-stylish ME here! Actually, I wasn't expecting to be here either.I did a little diving this evening, and while on the private island, I ate a famous mushroom. I wish I could just climb up the cliff when I’m big like this.

Me growing large after eating a famous mushroom on the beach.I decided to finally put my ice furniture away, even though I didn’t fully decorate the room just yet.

My empty room.I laid out the ice furniture set (as well as the snowman set) for Booker to put into his storage. When I started up the game as Booker, Tortimer showed up!

Tortimer: It seems the new mayor is just as dependable as I was, so I bet it's still easy to live here!Once the former mayor finally got the point, he told me Booker was now able to go out to the island. Of course, I have no plans on taking him there, but it was good to see Tortimer again outside of the island tours.

When I started back up as Jeff, Pete was there to hand me this letter from Nintendo. From May 24th through June 6th, a tokonoma is available as a Nintendo Zone download. I got this letter two days late, apparently. Probably because I leave the wireless switch disabled much of the time.

From 5/24 to 6/6, the tokonoma is available via Nintendo Zone!I headed up to the post office, and Pelly gave me the tokonoma.

Pelly: Sorry to keep you waiting! I hope you enjoy your new tokonoma! It can be ordered for 2,300 bells. This is  what it looks like:

Tokonoma - 2,300 bells. My long-overdue slideshow video is now online. It shows my best pictures from my 2nd year in the game (from May 2nd, 2014 to May 2nd, 2015): (view on Youtube)

Lazy Sunday

Yesterday, I got Sprinkle’s goodbye letter in the mail. She also included her picture.

Sprinkle's goodbye letter. This morning, Joan was selling turnips for 110 bells apiece. I bought 3,000 of them.

Joan: The asking price is 110 bells per turnip. What do you think, kiddo?Kabuki asked me for a pear this afternoon, so I tracked one down for him. He rewarded me with an alpine panel.

Kabuki: I should thank you for granting my needy little request!I made my usual trip out to the island, but I wasn’t in the mood for doing much touring. I just went on one pros-only bug tour and earned 12 medals for catching 10 bugs.

Tortimer: That's enough to net you a Gold Tortimer award and 12 medals! At the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Jessica from Sophie was my most recent dream visitor.

Sprinkle’s Last Dessert

I got a letter from Rolf, thanking me for the medicine I took him while he was sick. He’s felling better now, and he sent me a tie-dye tee.

This morning, Re-Tail was buying turnips for 109 bells each. I was afraid I was going to lose money again (like I did last week), so I sold about half of my turnips. But in the afternoon, the price jumped up to 158 bells and I sold the remainder of my turnips for a modest profit.

Reese: Currently, I'm buying each turnip for 158 bells.I put my money into the bank, and my balance topped 42 million bells.

Your current balance is 42,170,000 bells.Today was Sprinkle’s last day in town, so I went in to say goodbye to her. But she was more interested in telling me how she’s a superstar with many fans.

Sprinkle: Wanna know why I have so many cardboard boxes? For all my fan letters, of course! Hee hee!Beth from Polly told me she wanted Sprinkle, so I invited her over. She went to Sprinkle’s house, but left the house before Sprinkle agreed to move in. I told her she may need to talk to Sprinkle again, but Beth took off and went roaming around town, showing no interest in taking Sprinkle…despite that being the sole reason I let her come over in the first place. Once I lost track of her and had no idea what she was doing, I disconnected.

I tried to find someone else to take Sprinkle, and eventually Merka agreed to take her. She also had some turnips to sell; I tried releasing some moths on her when she would come out of the store.

Releasing moths on Merka. And Sprinkle is now a resident of Bribs.

Sprinkle: I'm moving to Bribs. If you ever get lonely, you can come and visit me there, ice cube!Gulliver was down on the beach, talking about pyramids, pharaohs, and mummies. Clearly, he was headed to Egypt.

Gulliver: Tricky thing is, those pyramids are actually the graves of the ancient pharaohs. Mummy curses, I tell ya!The island had the giant dragonfly tour today, which is one of the best tours. I went on it several times alone, and then later, I did several more with Merka. I earned a bunch of easy medals today.

Celebrating a successful island tour with Merka.Have a good weekend, everyone!
