Pickup & Dropoff

Today, Kidd told me that fishing was purifying his soul. Uhh sure, pal.

Kidd: This harmony with nature... It feels like my soul is being purified.I took a trip out to the island, and on the way back, Kapp’n told me I look exactly like he did when he was younger! I seriously doubt that!

Kapp'n: You...look exactly like me when I was younger!Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Elsa from Lund was my most recent dream visitor. I stopped over at Squishy’s town for a moment. She had an item for me and I gave her a balloon.

Me and Squishy holding balloons in Cosmic.A bit later, Madisyn came over to pick up an icy shirt I ordered for her.

Me and Madisyn in the train station.I also offered her a balloon…but I told her one of them was filled with poisonous gas, so she had to choose wisely!

Jeff: One is filled with poison gas...I also had an item for Mark, so he came over to pick it up. He said he was wearing his hunting king look. I don’t even know what that means, but I’m probably not going to be taking any fashion advice from him anytime soon.

Mark: Got any floss? Jeff: All hail King Veggie. After Mark left, Madisyn invited me over to her town. She showed me her modern town hall with her Sugar Skull flag.

Madisyn's town flag.I got to meet the camouflaged gator, Sly.

Sly: What?! Someone I don't know yet?In Madisyn’s house, she told me to check out her “friends” here. They watch her while she sleeps. o.O

An anatomical model and a skeleton. While I was upstairs, she told me that she lost her stylus. That’s what she was trying to say here:

Madisyn: brb lodt sylrsyI tried taking a nap on the bed, but Madisyn made it hard to get any sleep.

Madisyn: WAKE UP IT MORNINGOutside of her house, she showed me her bamboo and bushes. They give her house a bit of a jungle feel. I almost expected Donkey Kong to jump out of that top window and start looking for his golden bananas.

Madisyn's house hidden among the bamboo.Madisyn’s friend Liz also came over to visit, but Madisyn suddenly had to go. Nice almost meeting you, Liz. šŸ˜›

Jeff: Bye?After that, I wrapped up my night in New Leaf. As a reminder, tomorrow is the first Friday of the month, so there’s no Friday Night Forest this week. I’ll see you all next time though! šŸ™‚

Jack’s Pre-Halloween Visit

I got a letter from the post office today, telling me I earned 99,999 bells in interest on my bank account balance. I also got a letter from Gulliver, who sent me a skeleton figurine from Mexico. I knew it would fit in perfectly in my Halloween-themed back room.

My skeleton figurine. While making my rounds, I ran into Jack, the czar of Halloween!

Jack: Hee hee hee! I am the mighty czar of Halloween, Jack!He was telling me how to serve him on Halloween. I’ll have to use masks to scare the villagers in town, and I’ll want to stock up on candy too. He gave me a mummy mask, although I still have all six Halloween masks in storage from last year. Anyway, I went into the Roost, but I was unable to work a shift.

Brewster: Sorry... I don't really need any help right this moment...New Leaf gives players a full week to have a chance to meet up with Jack to be informed about the Halloween festivities. The game considers all seven days to be event days, so you won’t be able to work in the cafe until October 8th.

Halloween masks will be sold at Able Sisters, so you’ll probably want to pick up one of each if you intend to participate on October 31st. Candy will be sold at the Nooklings’ store, as will spooky furniture.

Timmy: Ah, a spooky vanity! A fine item, yes?Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Claudia from SwagTown was my most recent dream visitor.

Before I was done playing for the night, I decided to change my path to the black and orange brick pattern I used last year. If you want it for your own town, you can scan it from theĀ QR Codes – PathsĀ page (it’s all the way at the bottom of the page).

Gala’s Last Olive Flounder

Wendy’s Re-Tail was buying turnips for 234 bells each today, so she invited me over to sell my turnips. I sold them all for a total of 748,800 bells.

Reese: Currently, I'm buying each turnip for 234 bells. While I was there, Wendy showed me her new zen streetlights. They look really nice! Not many people seem to have these, but they should!

Wendy's zen streetlights.Wendy ended the session, and I opened my gate so she could shop in my town. Once she was done, I deposited my turnip money into my bank account, and my balance topped 23 million bells.

Your current balance is 23,160,000 bells.Up at the Happy Homes Showcase, Arnold from FatVille gave me a bubble wand.

Arnold giving me a bubble wand.In the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Clayton from Lebanon was my most recent dream visitor. And back in town, Drago had a flea on him, so I used my net to pick it off. He thanked me by letting me keep the flea! What a guy.

Drago: As my way of saying thanks, please keep that flea as a present!Aurora was still sick today, so I gave her some medicine one again.

Aurora takes her medicine.Gulliver was down on the beach, and I figured out he was headed to Mexico. He will be sending me a gift from there tomorrow.

Gulliver: There are live mariachi bands that perform such fun, lively music it makes you dance, even in the heat!Over on theĀ Friend Code ExchangeĀ page, I won a giveaway for 10 assorted balloons. A special thanks to Katie from Skyville! Some of these balloons will find their way into future giveaways of my own.

Jeff: Thank you very much!I held a different giveaway today, for the bubble wand I got earlier. Heather was the winner, so I headed to Hell to deliver the prize.

Welcome to Hell.Enjoy the bubble wand, Heather!

Heather tries out the bubble wand.Back in Forest, Gala asked me for an olive flounder. I was really hoping for her villager picture, so I agreed to catch the fish. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as quick and easy as I hoped. I did take an interesting picture while fishing off the cliff, though. You can just barely see my shoes and that’s it.

Fishing from the cliff.I was fishing off-and-on for over an hour trying to catch that olive flounder, but I wasn’t having any luck. So I went out to the island and fished there. My second fish caught there was an olive flounder!

Just kidding! It's an olive flounder! Make up your mind, fishy!I quickly returned to the mainland and gave her the fish. She commented on how healthy and energetic it was.

Gala: Oh! Thank you! Look at how healthy and energetic it is!When she reached to give me my reward, my heart sank. Not only was it not her picture, but it wasn’t even furniture! It was a shirt! A pastel-stripe tee! Are you kidding me?! I wouldn’t be caught dead in that!

Gala: It's a pastel-stripe tee.…but she might. I was furious. I got my axe out and…well, let’s just say I have enough bacon to feed the whole town for the rest of the week. I don’t think anyone will be calling Gala healthy and energetic. In fact, they might even say she’s unhealthy…and delicious.
