When I came out of my house today, I noticed I had a second black rose.
As I began my walk around town, I soon spotted Tabby. She asked me for a new greeting. So I had her say “hurt me plenty.”
I had a gem rock today, and it gave me two gold nuggets. I also had one in storage, so I took the three of them to Cyrus to have them made into golden furniture.
Sadly, I haven’t been able to work at the cafe yesterday or today, due to town events (the Bug-Off yesterday and fireworks festival today). But I still have a bunch of superb coffee beans for sale in Re-Tail. The animals haven’t been going in there lately to buy them!
Back outside, Teddy asked me about Wendy. He said the next time I hang out with her, the three of us should lift weights together. Awkward…
I went up to Main Street and saw Gabi again. GO AWAY! I think I need to get a restraining order.
And when I talked to Benedict, he suggested a new public works project: A pile of pipes…
Town hall was closed, so I couldn’t get a picture of it. But it sounds really exciting.
A bit later, I saw Tabby again. She was infested with fleas. I caught one of her little “friends” and she begged me not to tell Rolf.

At 7:00, I opened my gate for the fireworks festival. Wendy and Tom41 came over to visit. Tom set off a bunch of fountain fireworks all at once. It was really cool, but unfortunately they don’t last nearly long enough.

I let him use the garbage can in my house to dispose of them without having to pay Reese. He also showed me how fountain fireworks can be buried in the ground without igniting. Because if you just set one on the ground, it will automatically go off. After that, I went to see Isabelle to get my new bopper for this week. She gave me a flower bopper.
We went to my house and I remembered that Nook expanded my back room. It’s not so cramped in there any more.
I joked that the flower bopper made me look a bit like a Pikmin.

Tom left after a little while, but Wendy and I went to the bridge to watch the fireworks. I’ve always thought bridges make great places to watch the sky in Animal Crossing games.
After watching them for a while, we decided to go out to the island.
The island had hide-and-seek tours again! So we played several of them. Even though we successfully completed all the tours we did, we probably need to come up with a better strategy so we’re not covering the same areas.
But one other cool thing about the hide-and-seek tours is that the towns have public works projects. I had to stop at the Moai statue for a picture. I knew the tours took place on an island, but I didn’t know it was Easter Island!
But then I saw the Sphinx. Now I’m all sorts of confused. Maybe we’re all in Las Vegas.
After doing four hide-and-seek tours, we returned home and I ended the party. I later returned to Re-Tail to get my golden furniture back from Cyrus. This time, he made me a golden bench.
That’s all for today, but I’ll be back with more tomorrow!
And today was the Bug-Off competition. I hunted for some good bugs, and I ultimately caught a golden stag that was good for 102 points.
Nat took it and gave me a firefly lamp as a reward.
My bug held on to the stop spot and won the competition for me. So after 6:00, I went in Nat’s tent for the awards ceremony. Teddy won second place and Big Top got third.
After the ceremony, the animals around town will congratulate you. That’s a nice touch.
And here is a look at my firefly lamp and gold bug trophy:
Later on, I went to watch K.K. perform a song. Out of habit (from City Folk), I went to the museum by mistake. Then I remembered he plays at Club LOL now. I asked for a random song and he played me K.K. Oasis.
By the way, I’m still seeing Harry and Gabi on Main Street (or in stores) pretty much every day. At this point, it’s no longer considered a visit. They’re clearly homeless and have become bums on the streets of Forest. I need to talk to Copper about these trouble-makers. But even though I’m sure he’ll agree they’re as suspicious as darkness, I doubt he will do anything about them.
I declined, but then he offered it to me for a lower price and I bought it. Just to have it in my catalog (well, and to help him out).
If you don’t know, it functions the same as a regular pitfall seed, but the “x” mark is smaller. Apparently that makes it tricky. Tricky. Tricky, tricky, tricky. Here’s a comparison, showing the tricky pitfall seed on the left and a regular pitfall seed on the right.
As you can see, it was raining in town today. But I still went fishing and I caught my first giant snakehead.
As expected, Teddy the
Outside, I found a lost item–a book. I went around asking everyone who it belonged to. Eventually, I found the careless critter who dropped it:
But she can’t even read! It must be a picture book. Anyway, she thanked me and gave me a spa chair as a reward. After that, Aurora approached me, asking for a new greeting. So I told her to say “I got happy feet.”
I promptly picked nine perfect peaches, and Wendy let me sell them in her town. I got 27,000 bells for them all.
Then at 10:00, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. Wendy, Meli, and Peyton came over to visit. After a quick shopping run, we danced at Club LOL.
Even Aurora was getting into it. Shake that penguin butt! Flap those wings!
We hung out at my house, and then went outside. I dropped a couple of fountain fireworks and set myself on fire.
After beating Tabby with nets and hammers for a while, we took a trip to the island. We did the market-value bug tour and caught 69,690 bells worth of bugs. That was good for a silver medal, which isn’t bad considering Wendy was away from her game and didn’t participate.
We caught some bugs and fish on the island, and then returned to Forest. Earlier in the day, Tabby asked me for an apple. But I didn’t have any apples (I had already sold my fruit for the day), so I just ignored her request. But when I talked to her tonight, I had forgotten about the earlier request. So when there was an option that said “I brought it,” I was thinking it was a request for furniture. So I gave her a fruit beetle I had. She got upset that I was giving her a bug to eat!
And shortly after that, she had changed subjects. She was talking about how she put on too much blush and Molly was laughing at how she looks. Tabby, everyone laughs at how you look. Except for those who are frightened and run away.
So she said she may never use blush again. Yeah right, and Nook will charge reasonable prices for home upgrades too.
Shortly before midnight, Peyton had to leave and Valeria came in. Wendy, Meli, and I watched the modern clock at the stroke of midnight.
And we went into town hall to bug Isabelle. We were telling her to “fetch” and things like that. But it wasn’t all mean, I left her a bowl of Puppy Chow on my desk.
We had a good time and I ended the party around 12:30. Have a great weekend, everyone!
