Goodbye Rory

Last night, I returned to briefly see the fireworks and I got a heart bopper from Isabelle.

Wearing the heart bopper that I got from Isabelle at the fireworks festival. And today, my perfect peach tree bore fruit. More perfect peaches.

Three new perfect peaches on my tree!I planted them all. So hopefully in a few days, I’ll have four perfect peach trees.

I went in Rory’s house and found him all packed up and ready to leave. The punk never even told me himself until now. I had to hear it from Big Top.

Rory: I finally decided to move out, and I'm getting ready for it now.As for our goodbye, it was weird.

Rory: We'll always be linked with each other by our muscle telepathy. But Big Top is becoming quite the villager. Not only did he inform me of Rory’s decision days before Rory did, but he suggested the lighthouse project yesterday. And if that wasn’t enough, he suggested another public works project today! It was a stone tablet.

Big Top: Hey, did you know getting a stone tablet could boost our town coolness by 347 percent?Sounded pretty good. At least until I went to see what it looked like.

Stone tablet PWP: 39,800 bells.I just have one question about it: WHAT IS IT? “Stone tablet” isn’t quite accurate enough. It reminds me of a melting clock, but I could also see it as a giant dinosaur egg with rainbow graffiti on it. Whatever it is, I sure don’t want it in my town. Well I suppose I could put Tabby in front of it and use it as a dart board…

But while I was at town hall, I decided to finish what I wanted to start yesterday: Choosing a location for my lighthouse. I put it just to the left of my ramp, where it will be visible from my dock. If you look closely, you can see the top of Lloid’s head (or…dome?) in this picture:

The location I picked out for my lighthouse, as seen from the dock.I made a big payment towards the lighthouse, but it still needs around 97,000 more bells. So I’ll be able to pay it off in two or three days. Anyway, that’s all for tonight but I’ll be back tomorrow with more!

Pumpkin Pie

There was a meteor shower in my town last night. Wendy came over and we wished on the shooting stars.

Me and Wendy wishing on a shooting star. Then today, I got a letter in the mail from Wishy. He sent me a vintage radio. That’s not what I wished for, but thanks.

A vintage radio that Wishy sent me.One interesting note about the vintage radio: It’s not a regular music player; in fact, it plays the audio of whatever is on TV at the time.

I also noticed that my right wall was missing from my main room!

Part of my right wall was missing from my house!Of course that meant that Nook completed construction on my new room. As for the wall-mounted monitor that had been on that wall, it was already installed in my new room.

My wall-mounted monitor now hanging on a window in a different room from where I left it.I went outside and Big Top wanted to talk to me. He suggested a new public works project: The lighthouse! I’ve been wanting a lighthouse for a long time, and I already know where I’m going to put it.

Big Top: A lighthouse! If you agreed to it, we could put one right here! Peanut! Then I ran into Tabby, who asked if I needed her for anything. No.

Tabby: Hi there! Do you, like, need me for anything?I wanted to start the lighthouse right away, but town hall was closed for the day (due to the fireworks festival tonight).

Sign: Due to an event in the plaza today, our service counter will be closed. -Forest Town HallYou’re telling me the mayor doesn’t even have a key for town hall? When Tortimer was mayor, he slept in there 24/7, but can I even step foot into my own office? Noooooo.

Anyway, Nintendo has another new DLC item available, this time at Nintendo Zone locations. So if you used a Best Buy before, this should work again, but some McDonald’s may also work. When you’re in a Nintendo Zone area, start your game up and go to the post office. Ask Pelly or Phyllis about the new items available. This time, the DLC is a pumpkin pie.

Pelly: Sorry to keep you waiting! I hope you enjoy your new pumpkin pie!I put it in my house (to let it cool, of course).

The pumpkin pie DLC sitting on my table. But I also thought I’d check the status of the pumpkin pie in the Nooklings’ catalog. Unfortunately, it can not be ordered! First the shaved-ice lamp, and now this. Not cool, Nintendo!

Pumpkin pie DLC: Not for sale. And last but not least, I headed over to the museum. I got my robust statue in the mail from Crazy Redd today, so I was pleased to find out it was a real work of art. I donated it to the collection.

Plaque on the robust statue at the museum: Artist Unknown. Made in the 2nd century. Marble. Also, I want to share a video tour of my house that I made yesterday. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Crane Game

Today, Big Top asked me for a new greeting. “Join the circus,” I told him.

Big Top: Join the circus! I love it! It's so cool sounding! And I was a bit tired of wearing the deep-blue tee, so I ordered a flame shirt from T.I.Y. yesterday. It arrived today, and I put it on. Does this make me look hot?

Me putting on the flame shirt. When I banged a nearby rock with my shovel, gems started coming out. This is my second gem rock in three days. The best part is that three of the gems were gold nuggets!

A bunch of ore from today's gem rock.I took the gold nuggets to Cyrus to have him turn them into furniture. I hope it’s not another clock! But I had half an hour to kill first, so I continued my walk around town. Crazy Redd’s tent was in town, so I went inside and bought this robust statue.

Redd: Whoa! I see you've got eyes only for that robust statue there! I'd say it has eyes for you too! After leaving the tent, I soon spotted Phineas! He gave me the village leader badge, which is for players with over 200 hours of gameplay. This is my second silver badge.

I got the Village Leader badge! I'm still enjoying the good life here!Once I finished watering my flowers and digging up corpses fossils, I returned to Re-Tail. I picked my new golden closet.

Take home the golden closet? When I returned to my house, Aurora surprised me with a visit. After standing around for a couple minutes, she gave me a crane game for absolutely free!

Aurora: Oh! I'd like to give you something. It's a crane game that reminded me of you.The crane game works just like you’d expect: The crane moves, starts to pick up a stuffed animal, drops it before it has a good grip, and then returns to the starting position. I’m wondering if I should try to make this a carnival-themed room.

My new crane game. When I was done in my house, I went up to Main Street. I talked to Nook, and I told him to add a new room on the right side of my house. He said it will be done tomorrow.

Tom Nook: The work will be fully completed by tomorrow morning. I'm so sure you must be very excited, yes, yes!And just a word of warning. Unlike previous DLC items, the new shaved-ice lamp can NOT be ordered from the catalog! The Nooklings list is as “not for sale.” So you may want to think twice before giving it away or selling it; you may not get one again.

Shaved-ice lamp DLC: Not for sale.A message on the bulletin board told me there will be a meteor shower in Forest tonight. I may check it out later, but I likely won’t post a picture until tomorrow. So I’ll see you all then!
