Groundhog Day 2019

A message on the bulletin board informed me that January 27th (last Sunday) was Aurora’s birthday. But I missed it this year.

Boots asked me for a new greeting, so I told him to say “Let’s eat a goat.” It’s a reference to the first Jurassic Park. I’m not saying Boots is a dinosaur or anything, but…maybe he eats like one.

Boots: Let's eat a goat. Man, that is just perfect! It's so me!

Today was Groundhog Day, and Isabelle was standing over at the event plaza. She gave me a Resetti model for the occasion.

Isabelle: I'm not really sure about all the details, but apparently today is mole fortune-telling day.

I also checked out the faceboard and tried to be a mole. I guess I should have made an angry face like Resetti… wait, can I reset and try again? 😛

Agent S asked me for some fruit, so I shook a nearby durian tree. Oddly, I noticed one of the pieces of fruit hopped over an empty space. At first, I thought maybe there was something buried in that spot, but that wasn’t the case. And when I tried to dig there anywhere, the game wouldn’t let me! (It’s the spot directly above the rock.)

Jeff tries to dig a hole...and fails.

There wasn’t a pattern placed there, either. So I really have no idea why that space was off-limits to me. Anyone have an idea? By the way, after making a trip around town, it later let me dig there. So maybe it was just a temporary glitch. Still weird, though. I don’t recall having that happen to me before.

I went up to Club LOL to catch K.K.’s Saturday night performance. Elise and Hamlet were also in there, and K.K. played K.K. Love Song for us.

In case you’re wondering if Festivale is coming up, it’s actually not until March 4th this year. That’s the latest date it’s occurred on since New Leaf’s release! See my Festivale Guide for more info.

My recent dream visitors have been Songyi from Starpool, Dylan from Fuzztown, and Tina from Nuveme. Thanks for stopping by!

Update: Here is a new Animal Crossing video for you to enjoy. It’s not about New Leaf specifically, but it shows 13 things I’d like to see in the upcoming Animal Crossing game on Nintendo Switch.

Vivian’s Birthday

On Thursday night, I scanned my Blathers Amiibo and, with Wisp’s help, called him over to the campground. His RV has a diamond pattern that matches his vest, and there’s even a bow tie on it!

And this is a look at the inside. I really like that museum clock, and I ordered one for myself.

Even though he’s camping (though admittedly I forced him into it), he’s not really a fan of the outdoors. He won’t even roast a marshmallow!

Blathers: Hooo... Oh, dearie me, no... I'm not going to sit by the fire, let alone roast a marshmallow on it!

Once I was done with the visit, I headed back to the museum to see Wisp at his new job. 😛 Of course he doesn’t actually do any work, but at least I can still visit the museum.

Tonight, I spotted the northern lights up in the sky.

Today is Vivian’s birthday, and I gave her a space heater as a present. She didn’t seem to care for it.

Vivian: But it's the thought that counts. Thank you, Mr. J!

Lolly was also in attendance to help Vivian celebrate.

Lolly: Vivian seems to be having a great time! I think we can call this a successful birthday party.

Vivian said she was a lucky wolf to have friends like me and Lolly.

Vivian: I'm a pretty lucky wolf to have such good friends. I love you guys!

I’ve noticed that Amazon has a new Animal Crossing sticker book that includes over 800 stickers! Has anyone bought one? If so, please leave a comment and let us know how it is.

Luna informed me that my recent dream visitors have been Karina from Afrika, Grasyn from Albion, and Lola from O ekaki. Thanks for stopping by!

Re-Tail Vehicles

For the purposes of this blog entry, RV doesn’t stand for recreational vehicles, it stands for Re-Tail Vehicles. 😉 That’s because I scanned my Amiibo figures of Cyrus and Reese this week. Cyrus was first up on Wednesday; this is what his RV looks like:

He didn’t have anything I wanted to order. Wisp took over Cyrus’ spot at Re-Tail, and he even started to speak like Cyrus.

Wisp: Cyrus ain't here, squirt.

Yesterday, I scanned Reese’s peanut butter cups Amiibo figure. The outside of her RV looks much like Cyrus’, just in different colors.

And this is the inside:

She felt bad that she was abandoning her customers, but that simply wasn’t true. Re-Tail had already been closed for hours by the time I scanned her Amiibo! Busted!

Reese: My poor customers are going to be besides themselves, but they'll just have to get by without me!

She also mentioned that she was missing her “Cy-Guy,” despite it only being a couple minutes since I called her away. I couldn’t help but to roll my eyes halfway to Main Street.

Today, I visited Molly and she asked what was on my mind. Actually, I was wondering why she had her head in a bug box.

Molly: So, what's on your mind?
Just this duck in a box.

The sea bass-only fishing tournament was held today, but I played too late to participate. But the results, which were posted to the town bulletin board, informed me that Vivian won the competition. Lolly finished in second place, and Boots was third.

I scanned my Reese Amiibo again today, just to see what Wisp had to say as he took Reese’s spot at Re-Tail. He informed that he can’t help because he’s no good at mental math.

Wisp: Sorry. Mental math's never been my strong suit.

My recent dream visitors have been Lady from Pearis, Poppy from Poptown, Jessica from Madison, Marla from Yeetford, Ben from Yardley, Kandy from Cutetown, and Jimena from Bros. Thanks for stopping by!

I’ll scan my Blathers Amiibo next time. Until then, have a good day! If you haven’t seen it yet, I recently posted a rare update to my Happy Home Designer Blog. I designed a chess-themed home for Rudy, and I recreated the Roost for K.K. Slider. Here is the link.
