Molly’s Birthday 2018

Last night, Boots asked me for some new furniture. So I gave him a flea. It’s hard to imagine anyone being happy with a flea when they requested furniture, but he seemed to enjoy it. He said he’s going to train it to be the world’s most athletic bug. Well, they are strong jumpers.

Boots: Is this... Are you really giving me a flea?Boots: This is so cool! I'm totally going to train it. It'll be the world's most athletic bug!

He rewarded me with a plaster wall.

Today, I saw some butterflies flying around. I always enjoy the first butterflies of the season, because they are a welcome sign that spring has arrived.

I caught a tiger butterfly! Looks like I pounced first! 110.5mm

It’s Molly’s birthday, and she was celebrating in her house with Vivian.

Vivian helps Molly celebrate her birthday in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

This is the 5th year that Molly has celebrated a birthday in Forest. And she’s celebrated with someone different each time. In case you’re curious, here’s the list:

Should I feel bad for letting her best friend move out every year? Oops. 😛 Also, I noticed she hasn’t changed her wallpaper or carpeting in all that time.

Anyway, I gave Molly a chocolate heart for her birthday. She seemed to enjoy it.

Molly: Oh, this looks delicious! I was just thinking about having another snack.

Vivian was also having a good time at the party.

Vivian: Nothing beats a birthday party. The gifts, the games, the cake...and the frosting. Mmmm!

I got a peeing statue (Manneken Pis) in the mail today, after helping Gulliver yesterday. Hornsby noticed I had it (maybe it was leaking out of my pockets), and he asked to trade a black-denim jacket for it. I agreed to the trade.

Hornsby: So how about trading your Manneken Pis for my black-denim jacket?

Bob told me he was planning on moving out of town on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th. But I’m not letting him leave yet, so I played the role of shamrock blocker.

Bob: Wow, I didn't think you'd care that much. Well, if you really want me to stay in Forest, then I will!

I then went up to Shampoodle, and used a certain hair guide to make my annual transformation into Mohawk McClover.

Warm Spring Sun

Once Bones settled in, I visited him to see what his doghouse looks like. It’s Bones’ homes! I mean, home.

Bones: Welcome, Jeff! Seriously, make yourself at home, yip yip!

On February 25th, the snow all melted and the grass turned green once again. Welcome back, spring! I also changed my path from blue bricks to green bricks.

Bob sure seemed to enjoy the spring sun. In fact, he even enjoys it at night. 😉

Bob: The warm spring sun is like a cup of warm milk. It knocks me out cold, daddy!

I used the Amiibo Camera to take a picture of my current villagers. It’s hard to get a good picture without anyone blinking! 😛

Forest's current residents: Hornsby, Vivian, Bob, Boots, Bones, Rolf, Big Top, Agent S, Molly, and Aurora.

Boots asked me for a new greeting, so I…um…gave him one.

Boots: "Master Gator." Man, that is just perfect! It's so me!

As you probably know, balloon presents usually fly from one side of town to the other…east to west, or west to east. But as I’ve mentioned before, they will fly south to maneuver around obstacles. I saw one make a detour around my fountain before resuming its eastward path.

Tonight, Bones asked me for some new furniture. Re-Tail had a men’s toilet for sale, and I was tempted to buy it for him. But I thought I would be nice this time, since it was my first furniture favor for him. So I bought him a metal guitar instead. Rock on, Bones!

Bones: Nice! I had my eye on a metal guitar just like this one.
He gave me a cubbyhole in return.

In Club LOL, I attended K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show. He performed DJ K.K. for me. Velma and Daisy were also in the club, sitting on opposite sides of the room.

K.K.: What's up? I'm really feelin' the vibe tonight, so why don't you kick back for this groovy track?

By the way, if you haven’t seen my latest video, please give it a look. It’s a look back at features that were in City Folk, but not in New Leaf. Maybe some of these 11 things will return in a future Animal Crossing game?

Good Bones

I’ve had a lot of igloo campers at the campsite lately. But most of them haven’t interested me enough to invite them into town. That includes Frankengaga here.

Francine: We'll play a little game I like to call Find the Queen. What do you say?
Find the Queen? It’s sure not you.

But that changed on Sunday night. Bones the dog was camping, and he wanted my chocolate cake!

Bones: Hey hey! You wanna wager your chocolate cake on a round of What Do I Want to Eat?
Chocolate is poison to dogs! So you better just use it as a decoration.

However, I lost his game. So he didn’t agree to move in initially. But I kept talking to him, and eventually, I got him to stay. Good dog. I like the dog villagers–well, most of them at least. Marcel the clown dog is one notable exception. But it feels like Forest hasn’t had many dogs, so I was happy to adopt Bones.

On Sunday, Boots asked me for some fruit. I gave him a perfect apple I got from Breezy, and he loved it! In return, he gave me his picture! It wasn’t the first time he gave me his pic, but it’s nice to know he still cares.

Boots: Here you go! It's a very special Boots's pic!

Hornsby asked me to play a game of hide-and-seek, and I agreed to join in the fun. It had been a long time since I’ve played it in New Leaf. Hornsby gave me ten minutes to find him, Aurora, and Boots. I quickly found Aurora behind Rolf’s house, and I later found Hornsby trying to hide behind the lighthouse.

Shortly after that, I found Boots behind a banana tree on the beach to win the game.

When I put some money into the bank, my account balance reached 106 million bells.

Yesterday, I found Bones’ house plot near my eastern ramp. It was perfectly wedged in between my paths.

Tonight, I noticed the northern lights up in the sky. These will be gone soon, so I took a moment to enjoy them shining above the zen bell.

I went in to meet Bones, my newest neighbor! Well, I guess I already met him in the igloo, but I still welcomed him to Forest. 🙂

Bones: Since I had such a good time, and you suggested it, I decided to move here after all!
I can already tell he’s going to be a good dog. 🙂

Before wrapping up my night, I saw that Bob was sitting on the yellow bench. So I sat down to join him on a pleasant February night. He couldn’t stop smiling.
