Wendell’s First Appearance

Tonight, I spotted Wendell the walrus in town for the first time. As in the other games, he is starving and he asks for food.

Wendell: Belly... So empty... Feels like a black hole...I gave Wendell a barbel steed, and it soothed his starving stomach. He thanked me and rewarded me with a pattern called “road 4 pattern.” Even though I don’t currently plan on putting paths in my town, these road patterns could be a possibility if I change my mind at some point in the (distant) future.

The road 4 pattern I got from Wendell in exchange for a barbel steed. When I went in to visit Alfonso, he was all packed up and ready to move out of town. I did not try to stop him. He’s okay, but I wouldn’t mind getting someone new around here.

Alfonso: I know this is sudden, but I've decided to move away. Don't try to stop me.I also visited Baabara, and she told me she likes guys with mustaches.

Baabara: Like with facial hair. I love moustaches! I think they make guys look super tough. She even said a mustache might help me out. Wait…is she calling me ugly? And does she expect me to change to please her? But that would look weird to see facial hair in an Animal Crossing game, wouldn’t it?

Baabara: It might even help you in that department. Try it! GO! GO!Outside, I ran into Yuka. She tried to sell me an A shirt for 570 bells. I declined the offer.

Yuka: Hey, Dr. J. Do you have any interest in my A shirt? Then she said something interesting. She said no matter how much time passes, she can’t forget him.

Yuka: Oh, no... No matter how much time passes, I can't forget him!Who is the “him” in that sentence? Wait a minute…could it be Alfonso? His name starts with A. Did they break up? Is that why he’s leaving?

Anyway, she gave me another chance to buy the shirt, and I declined once again. She then gave it to me for free.

Static was still sick with a cold, but sadly, the store was closed once again. Even though it’s Nook ‘n’ Go, it still closes at 11 p.m. in Wild World.

Static: You're nothin' but a junior varsity virus. Ooooooghh... HACKGH HACKGH HACKGH!At this point, I decided to shake some trees to find some money, gifts, and bees. I found a few of each: I got some money bags, a few furniture items (including an ebony piano), and a couple of bees. The first bee stung me, but I caught the second one! After getting my net out, I just jammed on the A button and caught it! Woohoo!

I caught a bee! I'm so happy...I donated the bee to my museum, along with a bell cricket and pill bug I caught.

I heard a lone shooting star as I played, but I didn’t see it at the time. The display settings I use on Wii U make the upper DS screen small on the TV, so things on the top screen aren’t as noticeable. But my capture device caught a peek at it. I think I’m supposed to tap the screen while it’s flying by, but I didn’t think of it at the time. Hopefully I’ll remember next time.

A shooting star flies by in Animal Crossing: Wild World.I saw a bug on a tree that I haven’t caught yet. But as I got my net out, Yuka started walking right towards it, pushing me in the process. I was afraid she would scare it away, so I had to rush my move for the bug, and I missed. The controls don’t seem as precise in Wild World as they do in other games.

I miss a bug as Yuka interferes.

Yuka sorely needs a trip to Pitfallville. Booker didn’t have any pitfall seeds today, but I’ll keep checking!

I searched for another one of those tree bugs for a while, but I was unable to snag one. Maybe next time.
