Greedy Lifestyle?

It was raining in town last night, and Frobert was being poetic about it. He said the “savage drops of night rain” don’t scare him at all. 😆

Frobert: Hop to it!! The savage drops of night rain don't scare me!

He asked me to deliver a letter to Derwin, but Derwin didn’t show me the letter. Frobert then rewarded me with a ukulele.

Over on the bulletin board, I saw a notice posted about the Flower Fest. The results are in, and Marina was declared the winner!

***Final Results*** The biggest blossom of the Spring Flower Fest is Marina's garden! Way to go!!

I have no idea what criteria Tortimer used to determine that Marina’s flower garden was the best, but congrats to Marina regardless! 🐙

Saharah was in town, and she asked me to help out with some deliveries. I took a carpet package over to Mabel, another carpet to Tom Nook, and some wallpaper to Pelly (for Phyllis).

Pelly: Oh! Well, well! This is that item that my sister ordered from Saharah.

When I returned to Saharah, she rewarded me with a Saharah’s Desert (flooring).

Pippy told me she was obsessed with fortune telling, and she wanted to practice on me. She said my lucky sound of the day was ear-splitting polka. 🎶

Pippy: Hon's lucky sound of the day is...ear-splitting polka!

Today, Chief told me that it’s cool to collect a hoard of cool items…and I wasn’t sure where he was going with this…

Chief: I guess it's cool and all to collect a hoard of sweet stuff.

But he was apparently talking about my house having so many things in it? He said my “greedy lifestyle” isn’t for him. Wow. And I said nothing to provoke this, either. He’s just being a jerk for no reason.

Chief: But, no offense, that whole greedy lifestyle of yours isn't for me.

When I visited Frobert, he wasn’t much better. First, he said I was looking haggard…

Frobert: Whoa, WHOA, gorgeous! Aren't you looking a little haggard, fribbit?
Well am I looking gorgeous or haggard?

And then he told me not to breathe near him, because he didn’t want to catch my cold! I don’t have a cold! My villagers just irritate me sometimes in this game. 😛

Frobert: Don't you breathe near me! I don't want your cold, fribbit!

When Pippy asked me for some blue furniture, I decided to give her the elephant slide I had been saving for Robin. (Robin hasn’t asked for more blue furniture in over a month.) Pippy loved the slide, and she rewarded me with 510 bells.

Pippy: It makes my house like a million, BAJILLION times cuter!

Flower Fest 2026

On Wednesday, Pippy told me that Blathers looked really blue.

Pippy: Blathers looked really, like, blue today.

She even suggested that maybe he fell into a pit of blueberries! 🫐

Pippy: OMIGOSH!!! Maybe he, like, fell into a big vat of BLUEBERRIES!

I went to the museum to chat with Blathers, but he wasn’t physically blue. He was just feeling blue, because he said Brewster almost got fooled by Crazy Redd until Blathers stepped in to save the day.

The Flower Fest is underway this week, and each of my villagers has a garden of flowers set up outside their home. As a quick example, here is Pippy’s garden:

Pippy's flower garden outside her house.

And of course, the villagers like to chat about their gardens and their strategies. Truffles apparently considers herself a neat freak, which I wouldn’t have suspected for a pig.

Truffles: Gardening is perfect for a neat freak, snoutie.
Truffles: Neat freaks finish first! YAAAAAAYYYY!

When I spoke with Tortimer, he told me about the event and he gave me a bag of red tulip seeds.

Tortimer: A red tulip bag! For you!

Robin felt good about her chances of winning. In fact, she basically guaranteed a win for herself! We’ll see about that…

Robin: And the trophy? Oh, I'll be taking that home with ME, with legs!

Yesterday, Marina asked about my flower garden. She wondered if my flowers were still alive. 😆 But I didn’t have any flowers to begin with!

Marina: Oh, J-bot, how are your flowers doing? Are they...still alive?

Today, Chief told me his strategy: Yelling insults at the flowers until they bloom. I’m not sure that will work, but it certainly sounds like something Chief would do. 😛

Chief: I'm gonna scream insults at these flowers until they bloom!

While visiting Robin, I noticed that one of her elephant slides is gone now. She just has the one remaining. I’ll have to re-stock her supply if she ever asks for furniture again. 😛

Robin's house, now with just one elephant slide.

I noticed that Whitney had some a hybrid flower (some purple pansies) outside her house.

Whitney's flower garden, with some purple pansies.

So if I was the judge of the Flower Fest (which I’m not), Whitney would get my vote to be the winner (aka the Green Thumb). But it’s Tortimer’s decision, not mine.

As for the flowers Tortimer gave me each day (three of them in total), I planted them outside of my house today. I know that’s not going to be enough to win the Flower Fest, but at least I’m sort-of participating. 😛 I’ll find out the winner next week.

One other note: I posted my latest Wild World video episode today, episode 86:

Flea Market 2026

On Thursday, I received my monthly bank statement from the Bank of Nintendo. I earned 96,500 bells in interest for the month.

Now that it’s early April, you can find lots of pink trees around for cherry-blossom season. They’re pretty, but perhaps not as pretty as they are in the newer games.

Pink trees in Animal Crossing: Wild World.

Derwin was home, so I got to see the inside of his house now that he’s all unpacked. He informed me that his house scored just 1,437 points with the Happy Room Academy.

Today, I received a letter from Mom. She wants me to walk with her by the cherry blossoms while they’re in bloom. Aww, let’s go!

Dear Jeff, You must promise to walk with me again by the cherry blossoms in bloom. It would be lovely. -Mom

It’s Flea Market Day today, so the indoor villagers are trying to unload their unwanted furniture.

Derwin: Welcome to Derwin's Mega Mart, where the deals grab you by the lapels...
Derwin: And punch you square in the teeth!

I didn’t buy anything from Derwin, but I did end up buying an owl clock from Chief later, for 570 bells.

Down on the beach, I stumbled onto a note in a bottle. Inside, I found someone’s pay stub!

Miscalculation. Salary: 28,200 bells. Overtime: 32,600 bells. Income tax: 15,700 bells. Total: 45,100 bells. Keep up the hard work!

The Flower Fest is coming up next week, starting on Monday. Robin told me that last year, she entered it right after she and her boyfriend split up.

Robin: Last year, I decided to enter right after my boyfriend and I split up...

She said they looked especially pretty last year, but they probably won’t look as good this year. I’m not sure I understand her logic here, though. They looked prettier because she was fresh off a break-up? 🤷

Robin: The flowers looked super pretty then. Bet they won't look that pretty this year.

After I was done making my rounds, I finished up my night with a show at the Roost. I let K.K. Slider choose the song, and he performed “K.K. Waltz” for me. 🎶

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Waltz!
