Star Fragment Island

On Sunday, Forest had its first snowflakes of the season.

Isabelle: And today we've had the first snow of the year! Winter has finally arrived, Forest!

The snowfall was very light though, and it barely showed up in screenshots. But at least it meant that I didn’t have to water my vegetables.

When I took Kapp’n’s boat ride to a mysterious island, I arrived on a star fragment island for the first time. The best part is that the rocks yield a variety of zodiac fragments. They’re usually hard enough to get when they’re in-season, so this is quite a rare haul. Not to mention they look pretty in all the different colors. πŸ˜›

Star fragment island, with vines.
This was one of two star fragment rocks.

The island also had vines, although I’m starting to build up a substantial stash of those by now.

Today, Agent S was talking about music shows on TV. She was really getting into it. I mean, really, really into it.

Agent S: NOW I'M A METAL STAR! EVERYBODY GET DOWN!
EVERYBODY DANCE… NOW!

The mysterious island today was an autumn island. There were lots of mushrooms, acorns, and pine cones on the ground.

Arriving on an autumn-based mysterious island.

There was also a tarantula up on a cliff that tried to get me. But it disappeared once it reached the edge of the cliff.

Back on Forest Island, I ran into Wisp. I gathered up his spirits for him, and he gave me an outdoor folding chair in return.

Note: Yesterday, I finally posted my full New Horizons review. Check it out if you’re interested.

Cranny Sale

Apparently in honor of Black Friday, the Nooklings announced yesterday that everything at Nook’s Cranny would be 30% off for the rest of the month.

Timmy: From now through November 30th, everything in the shop is marked down 30 percent.

However, the Nooklings will tell you about the sale (with a five-page set of dialogue) every time you go into the store. So it gets a little annoying. I’d rather pay full price and avoid the nag-alogue, but that’s just me. πŸ˜‚

Bones asked to visit my house last night, and I agreed to let him come over. Inside, he gave me his photo…but I was really just waiting for him to leave. After 4+ minutes of standing around, then he told me he wanted to see the other rooms too. So I took him around to each room, and we finished in the basement.

Bones: I haven't seen ANY of this before! It's like I'm in a museum!
If only a museum could handle these gyroids.

Ten minutes into the visit, he finally decided to leave. I’m not a fan of these visits. πŸ˜›

At the Roost, I had my usual cup of coffee. Brewster then gave me a coffee plant!

Brewster: A coffee plant... I'll put it in your pockets for you...

Today, Bones sent me a letter in the mail. He said he’s curious about the secret rooms he hasn’t seen yet! Even though he saw them all!

So, buddy! I had a buncha fun the other day! Invite me over again sometime. I'm real curious about the secret rooms I haven't seen yet! I'm fulla snacks! -Bones
The gift he attached was a cardboard box.

It was K.K. Slider night, and the singing dog performed a new song called K.K. Khoomei for me, Apollo, Bones, Static, and Louie. The song is a bit weird, and it sounded like it had some mic feedback or static during parts of the song. Still, I kind of liked it.

K.K. Slider performs for Bones, Static, Jeff, Louie, and Apollo.

When I put the aircheck in my stereo, the album cover didn’t show up! I thought maybe it was loading, so I kept waiting and waiting, but nothing.

The album screen apparently stopped loading at K.K. Khoomei.

However, when I closed and reopened the music player screen, then it finally showed up.

I hope you’re all enjoying your weekend. See you next time.

Turkey Day 2021

On Tuesday, Leif finally had some sugarcane starts for sale on Harv’s Island. I bought ten of them and planted them when I back to Forest; I have a lot of recipes that are waiting on some sugar!

Redd also had new inventory on Harv’s Island: He had a fake gallant statue and a warrior statue that I think was real. I bought the warrior statue, and it arrived on Wednesday. I took it up to the museum and donated it. Not only was it authentic, but it somehow turned into about 15 statues! πŸ˜›

Warrior Statue - November 24th, 2021 - Donated by Jeff
The warrior had an army of mini-warriors!

I found Roald the penguin camping at the campsite! I like him a lot (well, not in Wild World; he was a jerk in that game). But if I had an open spot on my island, I would have taken him.

Roald: Heya! You live here? My friends call me Roald, b-b-buddy.

Late last night, Blathers made the long trip up the stairs to get some coffee. πŸ˜› He even called me a fellow night owl, so that was cool.

Blathers: Hoo! I see I'm not the only night owl around here, Jeff.

Today is Thanksgiving in the U.S., which means it’s Turkey Day! I quickly headed to the plaza, and there was quite a festive atmosphere. Marina said it was a treat for Franklin to feed her personally. Wait, what??

Marina: It's such a treat to see Franklin feeding me personally. Aren't you excited, in Miitopia?!

Speaking of Franklin, I was…speaking with Franklin. He wanted to start the event with some clam chowder. So I helped him out by fetching three manila clams, and he started cooking!

Franklin: Let's get cooking!

I continued to find the ingredients for each dish, including a pumpkin pie, some seafood gratin, and a fish meuniΓ¨re. Once we were finished, he gave me a cornucopia and the recipes for each of today’s four dishes. If you missed out, the recipes will be available in the shop tomorrow.

However, Franklin wasn’t done. He wanted to improve each of the four dishes with a secret ingredient. A couple of the secret ingredients were easy as pie, but the other two were taking me a while. I had to resort to helping out my villagers. πŸ˜›

Apollo: Hey, kiddo, if you get ahold o' some seaweed, wouldja bring it by? I got ingredients I can trade.

It took some time and effort, but I eventually perfected all four dishes. Yay!

All four Turkey Day dishes sparkle with perfection!

I hope you all had a good Turkey Day!
