Power Stone

On Sunday, I found Louie taking a nap on a beach chair.

Louie takes a nap on the beach chair.

I tried to talk to him, or at least wake him up, but no luck. So I gave up and just joined him on the adjoining beach chair. But as soon as I laid down, Louie popped up and walked away! Wow, how rude! 😆

Thursday, I swooped by the campsite and found Quinn the eagle inside.

Quinn, camping at the campsite: Oh! Hope I'm not interrupting you or nothin'. I'm just out here campin'!

I didn’t adopt her, but she seems pretty cool. If she had shown up on the day after Rio left, I may have considered her then! Especially since I used to call that part of town Eagle Mountain (because Keaton and Apollo once lived there).

Out on Harv’s Island, I asked Katrina to tell my fortune. She saw me falling into a pitfall!

Katrina: I see you...innocently running in a great field... Oh! Be careful! You've fallen into an oddly placed hole...

She said my luck with health will diminish, but I paid her 10,000 for purification. Yesterday, I received my gift in the mail: A power stone! It’s basically a crystal ball, and it lights up when you use it. Very cool! It even seems to turn a different color each time; I’ve seen it turn white, red, green, and blue.

My power stone (crystal ball) from Katrina, glowing blue.

I now have three of Katrina’s four items. I just need the horseshoe door decoration now.

When I tried to put the power stone in my house, you can probably guess what happened. A villager barged in for an unexpected visit (ugh). It was Merengue, who gave me an orange and then sat down to read a book.

Merengue sits to enjoy a book in my house, as a tennis game plays on TV in the background.

Once she stood up, we played a game of “High Card, Low Card” and I won her relay tank.

Today, I visited Merengue and I saw that Louie was also there visiting. As Merengue pointed out that obvious fact, Louie seemed to look directly at the camera. I thought it was kinda funny. 😆

Merengue: Louie came by to visit too, a bit!

Here are a few other quick notes about this week:

  • Ankha was sick with a cold on Monday. I gave her some medicine, and she gave me a fishing vest in return. That’s a sick trade. 😉 She really hooked me up. 🎣
  • I helped Gullivarrr on Tuesday, and he sent me a pirate dress.
  • Tonight, K.K. Slider performed “K.K. Robot Synth” for me, Static, Agent S, and Bob. I think it’s only the third time I’ve heard it. Part of it sounds a bit like “Party in the USA” to me. 😆

Eight Sizes Too Small

On Monday, I got to see the inside of Peanut’s house for the first time since she unpacked. She has a lot of pink cute furniture in her house, which reminds me of the lovely furniture in the older games.

The inside of Peanut's house. How cute!

Ankha’s catchphrase continues to pay dividends. She told me that the Nooklings are so cute, she can’t resist buying their items…before adding that she hates it. 😆

Ankha: When they recommend an item with those adorable smiles, I can't possibly say no, I hate it.

On Tuesday, Drago the dragon gator was camping at the campsite. I like Drago, and I’ve had him in New Leaf many years ago. But I did not invite him to move in.

Drago: I'm on a camping trip, trying to meet good food.
Please don’t eat me. I taste terrible.

When I visited Merengue on Wednesday, she told me I looked great in my striped shirt. She told me some striped socks would go great with it, so she gave me some. For once, one of these gifts actually made sense (stripes with stripes). Usually, they’re unrelated and don’t match.

Merengue: You deserve nice things, a bit.

Yesterday, Louie was checking out a henley shirt at Able Sisters. However, I don’t think it would quite fit him. It’s about eight sizes too small. 👕

Louie sizes up a henley shirt. I think it's too small for him.

For a Donkey Kong-sized gorilla to fit into that shirt, it would take quite a Tropical Squeeze. 😛

Today, Ankha told me that she decides what to make for dinner based on the weather. She said that creamed spinach was on the menu today. It was a sunny day, though. Creamed spinach seems more like a rainy/cloudy day meal to me. 😛

Ankha: Today's weather leaves me feeling like, let's see...creamed spinach!

And of course, she added in her catchphrase. 😛

Ankha: I'm hungry already, I hate it!

Here are a few other quick notes about this week:

  • On Wednesday, I sold 18 bugs to Flick for 86,250 bells.
  • I helped out Gulliver on Thursday, and he sent me another candy-skull mask.
  • I shot down a balloon present today, and I found a milk-glass lamp inside.
  • Tonight, K.K. Slider performed “I Love You” for me, Louie, and Ankha.

I posted my latest New Horizons Moments video the other day, so I hope you’ll check it out if you haven’t seen it yet:
