On Sunday, Pascal popped up to ponder how hard it is to have an unbiased opinion of your own brain.
That is a good point, but my brain is just surprised that I keep encountering new quotes from Pascal 5+ years into playing this game daily.
Somehow, I manged to catch three banded dragonflies in one day on Sunday. The thrill of seeing, and chasing down, banded dragonflies is probably the only thing in the newer games that approaches the excitement of seeing a UFO in City Folk and Wild World.
On Monday, I ran into Pascal again while diving. He gave me another good quote that I haven’t yet posted on the blog before.
What if you only have a kayak?
Today, I ran into Resetti at the Roost. He was declaring victory over reset buttons, since they’re basically obsolete now. (I guess he doesn’t know you can still reset, even if there isn’t a designated reset button.)
Except for the fact that you’re basically obsolete too. Yeah, I went there.
But then he got a bit more reflective, wondering if a reset button is actually a good thing! Wow, I never thought Resetti himself would say such a thing. ð
OK, who are you, and what have you done with the real Resetti?
If you haven’t seen it yet, I recently posted an hour-long gameplay video of my bug and fish hunt from last week. Here it is:
And here are a few other quick notes about the past week:
On Monday, K.K. Slider performed “The K. Funk” for me and Louie.
On Wednesday, I sold 26 fish to C.J. for 357,750 bells.
I also separately sold my fish from last week’s fish hunt, and my calculation given in the video was correct.
Tonight, K.K. Slider performed “K.K. Condor” for me and Ketchup. One of my favorites!
Last Saturday, I paid Katrina to tell my fortune. She told me that my luck with money will diminish.
So I paid her the 10,000 bell purification fee. The next day, she sent me the horseshoe door decoration! I now have all four of Katrina’s special lucky items!
However, I’m still going to keep trying for more of her items because I need more mini dharmas for crafting.
The third fireworks festival of August was held last Sunday night, and Louie wanted to make smoothies out of the fireworks smell. I guess they would have a nice smoky flavor.
Isabelle gave me a flower bopper to wear, so I put it on as I sat and enjoyed the fireworks for a bit.
The August Bug-Off was held today, but unfortunately, I missed it. I started up the game too late to participate. But Peanut told me it was a lot of fun, and an awesome day.
It sounds like I missed a good one. Oops.
Outside of Resident Services, Bones was standing in the doorway, staring at a moth. I was trying to get inside though, so I opened the door. However, the door seemed to pass through him as if Bones had no bones. ðĶī
I ran into Flick in the Roost, and he actually seemed surprisingly rude.
Wow, what crawled up your butt and died?
Here are a few other quick notes about the past week:
Last Saturday, K.K. Slider performed “Surfin’ K.K.” for me, Agent S, Merengue, and Louie.
On Tuesday, I sold 26 bugs to Flick for 173,250 bells.
I went on an hour-long bug hunt Tuesday night. I’ll be posting a video of that soon.
On Thursday, I received another bad fortune from Katrina. I paid for purification, and she sent me another gold turtle figurine.
I helped Gulliver yesterday, and he sent me a coin headpiece today.
On Sunday, the fireworks festival was held. It was the 2nd one of the season, but the first one that I’ve participated in this year. Ankha was at the plaza (along with several other villagers), and she gave me a free sparkler, so that I could enjoy the lights in the sky and in front of me.
Isabelle gave me a heart bopper, so I put it on and set off my sparkler. ð
After that, I sat and enjoyed the fireworks for a few minutes.
The next day, I spotted three paper kite butterflies all flying in the same area (all on-screen at once). That’s not something you see every day.
While I was chatting with Timmy in Nook’s Cranny, Peanut walked by and seemingly looked right at the camera. I think she saw me! ð
I had a camper at the campsite, and it was a villager that I was not familiar with. It was Petri the mouse!
Her glasses look like they’re all fogged up, and I don’t know how she can even see through them. Also, the insides of her ears are different colors! One is red and one is blue; they remind me of those old 3D glasses.
On Tuesday, I ran into Pascal while diving in the sea. He shared some wise words about wishing wells with me.
I spotted a banded dragonfly, and I began to chase it all over my island…but I was having trouble keeping up with it. I kept losing it, then finding it, then losing it again. It took me over seven minutes, but I eventually caught it!
Usually when I have that much trouble with a banded dragonfly, I end up losing it for good. So I was fortunate to track it down this time. Flick was in town too, so I sold it, along with 19 other bugs from storage, to him for 109,350 bells.
Yesterday, Peanut asked if she could visit my house…and I said yes. I made the right choice, because shortly after arriving at my house, she gave me a gift she picked out for me: Her photo!! Thank you, Peanut!
It’s so YOU, actually.
I was thrilled to get her photo! (She’s been in town about 3.5 months, if you’re keeping track.) I also won an emblem blazer in a game of “High Card, Low Card” with her. I kept speaking to her, but she didn’t want to leave…and I didn’t want to force her out after she just gave me her photo. So I basically just waited there for 15 minutes until she was ready to go. ð
Once she was gone, I added her photo to my villager photo room (it’s my 25th picture). Her favorite quote on the back is “Never take a nibble when you can take a bite.”
I now have all of my current villagers’ photos. So maybe it’s about time for a new villager.
Today, Katrina told me that my luck with money would improve…and it was true. I got 5,000 bells from the daily glowing spot (instead of 1,000), and the money rock’s 8 hits scored me 26,000 bells (instead of 16k or so).
Bones told me that he heard I got stung by a wasp yesterday. But he reminded me that a wasp sting isn’t as bad as a crocodile bite. Good point, Bones. ð
C.J. was in town, and I caught three big-time fish in a row to complete his seasports challenge. After selling those initial catches, I grabbed 23 fish from storage. I sold them for 278,625 bells. ð°
