Monday (September 22nd) was Ankha’s birthday, and I headed over to her house for her party. I gave her a hyacinth lamp that I crafted for her. She loved it!
Forest’s newest resident Kid Cat was also at the party.
On Wednesday, Julian the unicorn was camping at the campsite for the third time. Even though I like him, I did not ask him to move in. But I did play a game with him, and I won a free rattan table lamp.
The next day, I had a chat with Louie and he looked up at an odd angle. He was looking up at his double-sided wall clock, but it looked weird.
Yesterday, I saw my two superheroes stretching outside of Resident Services. I joined in, and Peanut did as well. Watch out for us, we’re the Avengers. 😉
Today, the final Bug-Off of the year was held. Static told me he was going to go all-out to win, but he’ll try to leave a few (small) bugs for me. 😛
Bones was taking a more laid-back approach.
I played one round of the competition, and I caught 12 bugs. That was good for 14 points.
I sold the 12 bugs for 4,260 bells, and then I redeemed 10 points for a spider doorplate. Since it’s almost October, I put that on my door. I moved my lucky horseshoe door decoration to inside my house.
After I sold my fossils and some other stuff, I had enough money to kick my savings balance up to a new milestone: 125 million bells.
Here are a few other quick notes about this week:
On Tuesday, I sold 18 bugs to Flick for 96,000 bells.
Wednesday, I sold 17 fish to C.J. for 181,350 bells.
I helped out Gullivarrr on Thursday, and he sent me another pirate bandanna.
On Saturday, I grabbed five Nook Miles tickets and began my hunt for a new villager. I found Grizzly the bear on the first island. I had him in City Folk last year, and he’s alright…but not one of my favorites.
The 2nd island had Anchovy the bird, and the third island had Chevre the goat. I like Chevre, and Anchovy isn’t bad either… but if I’m using Nook Miles tickets, I want to get someone I really like a lot. I’d be okay with any of these three if I got them as a random move-in, but I want to at least try for one of my favorites.
But on my 4th island, I found what I was looking for. One of my favorites: Kid Cat! I immediately asked him to move to Forest. 🙂
You may remember that I had him as a camper last November. I actually wanted him to move in, but he would have replaced Static…and that was unacceptable. But I posted in the blog that maybe we’d meet again someday…and now we have! I’ve had him in City Folk and Wild World before, and I’m happy to have him on my ACNH island as well. 🙂
On Sunday, he arrived in town. Welcome to Forest, Kid Cat!
I recently gave my other superhero a new catchphrase of “Wii Fit,” as a reference to this. And Sunday, she asked if I was subbing in for her dodgeball instructor in Wii Fit. 😆
I went out to Lottie’s Island to work a shift at Paradise Planning. Chevre (the goat that I passed on the day before) wanted a vacation home where she could protect her assets. Her request was titled “World’s Safest Vault.” I picked a location where she was on an island, in a lake, on an island. Hopefully that will keep the burglars out. 😛
As for the yard, I didn’t do much to it. I added some money trees (so her money can grow) and a piggy bank.
Indoors, I put some safes, a pile of cash, all locked behind jail bars. That’s basically her vault, but there’s also a reception counter so her house can function as a bank.
When I got back to the office, Lottie paid me 20,000 Poki. That was enough to finish my donation to the hospital, and they can now expand. I have to return another day to finalize things, though.
On Monday, I got to see the inside of Kid Cat’s house now that he’s unpacked. He’s a jock, so it’s not surprising to see lots of workout equipment in here.
In honor of Kid Cat’s arrival, I put on a red zap suit.
I also placed an additional red zap helmet outside of Kid Cat’s house, to clearly mark which house is his. 😛
On Tuesday, I returned a lost item to Peanut and she rewarded me with her photo (again)! It’s only been about a month since she gave me the first one, so it’s surprising to get another one so soon.
On Thursday, I went up to Paradise Planning. Lottie informed me that the hospital can now put in a patient ward now that they’ve met their fundraising goal. Of course, that meant I had to design it. I put in three beds, some EKG machines, a few chairs, and some hospital screens to divide each patient’s area.
We took a celebratory photo, and then Lottie paid me 25,000 Poki for my time.
Today, Ken was camping out at the campsite for the 2nd time. He’s pretty cool (for a chicken), but I wasn’t interested in kicking anyone out for him.
I recently posted my latest video, New Horizons Moments #36. I hope you’ll check it out!
And here are a few other quick notes about the past week or so:
Last Saturday, Merengue was sick with a cold. I gave her some medicine, and she rewarded me with an argyle sweater.
K.K. Slider performed “Hypno K.K.” for me and Louie last week.
I returned a lost item to Peanut, and she gave me a detective hat.
On Tuesday, I sold 8 fish to C.J. for exactly 102,000 bells.
Yesterday, June was sick with a cold. I gave her some medicine, and she thanked me by giving me a spinning wheel.
Tonight, K.K. Slider performed “K.K. Lullaby” for me, Bones, and Louie. 😴
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before, but I typically deposit bells in multiples of 10,000 bells each day when I visit Resident Services. So if I have 33,000 bells, for example, I’ll put 30k into savings and just carry the 3,000. But on Monday, I only had 26 bells leftover in my pockets. So when I went into the Roost to buy some coffee for a Nook Miles+ goal, I couldn’t afford it!
So I went back outside and shook a few trees until two of them gave me the bells I needed for my coffee. ☕
On Wednesday, I found Truffles the pig at the campsite. She was staring at me pretty intently. 😆
I already have Truffles in my Wild World town, and one Truffles is more than enough. Besides, I don’t want to hog up all the Truffles…es in the world. 🐷
Yesterday, Ketchup told me she wanted to go see the world to learn how to become famous.
As much as I like Ketchup, I also don’t want my island to become stagnant. And Ketchup has had a nice long stay in Forest (3.5 years), so I decided to let her go…with the flow. (Sorry if this is a jarring revelation.)
Today, I went into her house for the last time to say goodbye. I’ll soon be all out of Ketchup.
So long, Ketchup! I’ll miss you, but maybe we’ll meet again someday! Over burgers, perhaps.
Label was in town, and I realized I’ve been ignoring her for months. So I decided to check in with her for a change. She wanted to see me in something professional, like a work outfit. She gave me a western shirt to use as an example, but I instead went with a pilot’s uniform and captain’s hat. Label loved it, and she gave me some Labelle tights.
Anyway, I’ll have to go villager hunting tomorrow. I’ll probably do my usual thing: I’ll take five (or so) Nook Miles tickets and see if I can find anyone good. If not, I may roll the dice and risk a random villager. I’ll be posting a new New Horizons Moments video soon, so maybe I’ll reveal my next villager there. Keep an eye out for that!
Here are a few other quick notes about this week:
On Sunday, Wisp gave me a DJ’s turntable.
Monday, I sold 16 bugs (mostly wasps) to Flick for exactly 75,000 bells.
On Tuesday, I sold 8 fish to C.J. for 112,125 bells.
I helped Gulliver out on Wednesday, and he sent me a turban in the mail.
