Halloween, Mush Season

On Monday, I returned a lost item to Ankha. It was her purse!

Ankha: Oh! How wonderful! My purse! I've been looking everywhere for this!

Losing a purse is a big deal…so you’d think she’d give a really nice reward for returning, right? Well…

Ankha: I'm sorry to give you more to carry... but for helping me, you should have a cardboard box.

Just a cardboard box. And there’s nothing in the box. 😉 Oh well.

On Wednesday, Flora the pink ostrich (who resembles a flamingo) was camping at the campsite. I like her, but I did not ask her to move in.

Flora, at the campsite: Hi there! I'm Flora, and I'm totes camping on your awesome island!

Yesterday was Halloween, and I met up with Jack outside of Resident Services.

Jack: This is a night for frights and delights, which comes but once a year--that's right! Halloween is here!

I changed into my skeleton costume, and I began giving candy to villagers for spooky items.

Peanut: Now here's a treat for YOU! Have a spooky wall!

I also did some trick-or-treating to score more candy. 🍬

Bones: Now, let's Halloween the heck out of tonight, at the Depot!

After giving candy to a few villagers, I got a couple lollipops in return. Jack gave me a spooky carriage for one of them, and I consider that to be the “grand prize” of Halloween. But I also got Jack’s robe and Jack’s face, so I dressed up as the Czar of Halloween to trick my villagers.

Static: J-J-Jack! Please don't trick me! Please! Here, take some candy!
Peanut: Has the time finally come? Are you here to steal me away...and turn me into your apprentice? I'm SO ready.

Shortly after that, I wrapped up my game for the night. I went on to spend more time in the City Folk version of Halloween.

Tonight, I ran into Pascal while doing some diving. He said that maybe once in a while, we actually should put the cart before the horse.

Pascal: Maybe we should put the cart before the horse sometimes. I bet horses like to mix things up once in a while.

He gave me a pearl in exchange for the scallop I caught.

I attended K.K. Slider’s show at the plaza. He performed “Spring Blossoms” for me, Bob, and June. Not exactly the most seasonal song, but it was still good.

And now that November is here, mushrooms can be found on the ground again.
