Baby Back

I felt bad for buying Maple’s family at the flea market last week, so I decided to ship her baby back to her on Wednesday.

Dear Maple, Sorry about the flea market. I should give you your baby back, baby back, baby back. -From Jeff
Barbecue sauce.

I already sold Maple’s mother, but at least she can be reunited with her baby bear. 😛

Yesterday, I found a note in a bottle on the beach. It was from “just some guy” who hopes to get a response to his note…despite not leaving an address or even a name. 😛

Hello out there! I hope someone cool reads this letter...and I hope I get a response! -Just some guy

Over by the river, I spotted a scorpion. I backed up to what I thought was a safe distance away, and got my net out. It didn’t charge at me, so I thought I was okay. The scorpion walked towards Pippy. But as a mosquito neared me and prepare to bite me, the scorpion seemingly took notice of that! It made a hard right turn and came after me! I was dead meat.

Jeff passes out after being attacked by a scorpion.

It was kind of a weird sequence. I’ll be sure to include it in a future video.

When I visited Maple, I noticed that her baby is back in her room. I’ve reunited the family! Except for grandma…only Tom Nook knows what has become of her.

Maple has her baby bear back in her room.

I played again today, and it is La-Di-Day. Chief told me that his love of music ranks up there with his love of insults. 😛

Chief: My love for music ranks right up there with my love for a good insult.

Nobody actually sang a song for me, though I certainly didn’t press the issue. I wasn’t necessarily looking for a new town tune anyway.

After making my rounds, I went to the Roost for K.K. Slider’s Saturday night concert. He performed “K.K. Steppe” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Steppe!

Over at town hall, I found a paw shirt in the recycle bin. But I didn’t put it on.

Bear Sells Family

On Thursday, Truffles asked me to deliver a shirt to Maple. And…the gift got an icy reception. 😆

Maple: Oh... It appears I'm getting an icy shirt.

She tried to be nice about the gift, but she clearly wasn’t excited about it. When I returned to Truffles, she rewarded me with a basic blue bed for making the delivery.

I played again tonight, in the rain. It’s Flea Market day, and Pippy was hoping to find someone selling an edible marshmallow chair.

Pippy: Wouldn't it be SWEET if someone was selling an edible marshmallow chair?!

I’m not sure I follow the logic. Because if she’s just going to eat it anyway, why does it even need to be a chair? Just go buy a big marshmallow. 😆

But Pippy seemed to be celebrating Flea Market day in an unusual way: By having fleas!

Fleas! Fleas! Fleas! Itchy!

Whitney was also talking about the Flea Market, saying good furniture moves fast.

Whitney: Good furniture moves fast. In a way, it's just like love, on a pig.
Wait…what?

Over at Maple’s house, I wanted to see if Maple would sell me her family. She said she would think about it!

Maple: Hoo, boy... You want my Mama bear? Let me think about it.

But she didn’t think long, because she gave up her Mama bear for 600 bells!

Maple: I guess I'd sell it for 600 bells.

And that wasn’t even the worst part, because she also sold me her baby bear! And at half the price! 😆

Maple: You're interested in my Baby bear? Hm. After the discount...

I was kind of surprised she literally sold me her whole family. Does she need the bells that badly? She must be in an unbearable situation.

After that, I headed over to the Roost for K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show. I asked for a random song, and he performed “K.K. Jazz” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Jazz!

Without even trying, I spotted a couple of good summer bugs tonight. I caught a goliath beetle and a rainbow stag. Enjoy bug hunting season, everyone!

I recently posted an updated version of my “Forest Quick Comparisons” video, in which I compare my Animal Crossing towns. Check it out if you haven’t seen it yet!

Chief’s Pic

Yesterday, Chief was talking about the size of my house. He said it’s so large that he’s already planning on having a karaoke night at my house. 😆

Chief: All right! The next karaoke night is at your place! I'll post up some flyers!

Pippy told me she had a makeover, and she asked me to guess what looked different. I think I normally choose “haircut” for this question, so I decided to instead suggest that maybe she lost weight. She said I was right, since she’s been on a “low taste” diet. 😆

Pippy: Huh?! I look skinnier?! I have been on a low-taste diet!
Pippy: Maybe it's finally paying off, in a pond!

Over by the museum, I listened in on an interesting conversation between Maple and Whitney. Maple asked Whitney what phrase describes her best…

Maple: Hey, Whitney, what one phrase describes you best, and why, honey?

Whitney replied with “Every rose has a thorn,” saying it was perfect for her.

Whitney: Ah! I've got it! Every rose has a thorn. That's perfect for me.

She continued, saying she’s beautiful…but also deadly.

Whitney: After all, I'm beautiful, but I am also...deadly.

So of course, Maple pointed out that despite their thorns, roses aren’t actually deadly. 😆

Maple: That's great, but... Um. Roses aren't deadly.

Whitney then followed up with “not even… POISON ROSES?” I love these crazy conversations in the older games. 😆

Today, Frobert was talking about muscles (as he often does, as a jock). After apparently answering his question wrong, he told me to do soccer until I can barely move, and then come talk to him. 🤷

Frobert: Try doing soccer until you can barely move, then come talk to me!
But how will I get here?

Over by the river, Chief really surprised me…by giving me his picture! Wow, thank you Chief!

Chief: Here... This is, uh, my picture, on a pig. Here's hoping you like it.
What are you doing to Truffles?

After selling some stuff at the shop, I took Chief’s photo home and put it on display. I had to remove Eloise’s pic to make room for it, though. Chief’s favorite quote on the back is “Harrumph.” Sounds about right for him.

Chief's pic on display in house, next to Marina's pic. My Gulliver items are visible in the background.

Thanks again, Chief! See you all next week!
